LIVE VIDEO AND UPDATES: Paris Terror Attacks Leave 100+ Dead, Borders Closed and City Under Curfew

LIVE VIDEO AND UPDATES: Paris Terror Attacks Leave 100+ Dead, Borders Closed and City Under Curfew

Six separate, confirmed attacks. Developing…

Tonight, a group of armed extremists executed a series of coordinated attacks against civilians in Paris, France. As many as 158 people (as being reported by Fox News at 8:30 pm EST) have been killed, with many more injured. At least 5 attackers have been killed; authorities suspect that as many as one dozen people were involved in six separate attacks that occurred all across the city.

Each of those six attacks have been confirmed by French authorities. As of the writing of this wrap-up, no group had officially claimed responsibility. There are reports from survivors that the terrorists chanted about Allah and Syria.

At around 8:50 pm EST (2:50 am Paris time) French authorities released a bulletin to the media saying that “an unknown number of terrorists are still on the run.” Fox News reported via The Guardian (at 9:50 pm EST, 3:47 am Paris time) that French law enforcement officials believe that all of the attackers are dead.

The attacks began just before 10 pm Paris time, when terrorists fired into a crowded cafe, leaving “piles” of dead bodies in their wake.

French President Francois Hollande was at the Stade de France for a soccer match between France and Germany when explosions rang out from outside the stadium.

Over 100 concertgoers were killed when a group of terrorists secured the Bataclan theatre. Before police were able to storm and re-secure the theatre, the terrorists apparently fired Kalashnikovs into the crowd and threw grenades into the faces of their hostages.

All of this is still developing, and as of 9 pm EST, there is no report of a specific or credible threat against the United States. You can scroll down to see the live updates as we added them during the attacks. For the latest news, the Sky News live feed is here:

Here’s an additional live feed from France 24:

We’ve curated two Twitter livestreams:

***LIVE UPDATES***
These updates were preserved in the order we added them.

This story is developing, but several news outlets are reporting a public shooting in Paris.

The New York Post reports:

A man armed with a Kalashnikov fatally shot several people and wounded seven others at a restaurant in central Paris late Friday, BFMTV reported.

Police and ambulances were at the scene outside the restaurant in the 10th arrondissement where the incident occurred.

Reports on Twitter said there had also been an explosion at Paris’ Stade de France, where the French team was playing Germany.

This morning, Germany’s national team returned to its hotel in western Paris after being evacuated following a bomb threat, The Telegraph reported.

The Hotel Molitor said an anonymous person called in the threat at 9:50 a.m. and the German team and other guests were quickly evacuated.

It was unclear if the incidents were linked or related to terrorism.

6:20 pm EST: The numbers on this with regards to fatalities are still all over the map; at 6:20 pm EST (just after midnight in Paris) CNN is reporting 60 dead, and Fox is reporting 35. Most major outlets are consistently reporting that at least 100 hostages were taken at a concert hall during an Eagles of Death Metal performance.

Outlets are now reporting on at least three coordinated terrorist attacks.

French police have confirmed that at least two of the attacks were suicide attacks, including a bombing at the Stade de France, where France and Germany were playing a soccer match. French President Francois Hollande was in attendance.

This Vine captured the sound of the blast:

Officials suspect the attacks were coordinated.

Hollande has declared a state of emergency, closing the border and mobilizing the military. He offered a statement earlier this evening:

Fox News is reporting that French law enforcement officials are raiding the Bataclan concert hall in an attempt to rescue some 100 hostages following multiple reports of continued gunfire and at least 5 explosions within the hall.

Perspective: I’m following multiple news outlets, and right now on Fox, Shepard Smith is emphasizing that the French press is in typical fashion keeping this very close to the chest. French television is not broadcasting the storming of the theatre for security reasons. Smith reports that authorities are currently still trying to regain control of the Bataclan; individual explosions occurred within the building but did not bring it down; there are still hostages alive inside the building; the status of the gunmen remains unknown.

Report: one person has been arrested at one of the attack sites. The person who was arrested told the French authorities, “I am from ISIS.”

Report (6:57 pm) that the situation at the concert hall is over, as per statements from the French police. Fox News is reporting that there were three gunmen wearing flack jackets and carrying Kalashnikovs, menacing the hall. At least two of the attackers have been killed.

French police are cautioning against reporting rapid-fire accounts from inside the hall.

Again, a state of emergency has been declared in France. This means that “the state has taken complete control of the nation,” as per the Fox live feed.

7:39 pm EST (1:39 am in Paris): French officials have confirmed that “at least” 100 people died inside the Bataclan concert hall. Previous reports said that 12 hostages were rescued, and the scene is being described as “complete carnage.”

7:44 pm EST (1:44 am in Paris): Hollande is on his way to the Bataclan alongside Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and Justice Minister Christiane Taubira.

Obviously the answer to the problem of Islamic terrorism in Europe is to allow the mass migration of “Syrian refugees”. Uh huh…

Latest, 60 reported dead. Busy shopping mall/train hub was also targeted.

A fourth site is being identified. A famous shopping center. Now Obama mouthing platitudes. He obviously hit the media before any consultation with the French. I’m impressed he is delaying cocktail hour.

Fox News just reported attacks happening at 6 different locations.

I’m posting updates as best I can at my blog. Also linked this article there: http://triggerwarningblog.blogspot.com/2015/11/breaking-news-terror-in-paris-26-dead.html

Lucien Cordier in reply to Radius. | November 13, 2015 at 9:20 pm

To miss such a large coordinated series of attacks is a huge intelligence failure. It proves that the authorities cannot detect and every prevent incident, not only by the “lone wolves”, but large groups as well. It will happen here in the U.S. eventually. The likelihood increases with the number of Muslims in the population.

Just put on my official Soothsayer’s hat and came out with these predictions.

Muslims did this.

The MSM will assure us all that Islam had nothing to do with this.

Whew. Am I relieved!

Andy in reply to pfg. | November 13, 2015 at 6:24 pm

…pity they were so unappreciative of the mossad whacking Islamic terrorists on French soil.

Don’t forget that #LaxGunLaws in #America made this possible.

      Take a look at this:

      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/11995541/Paris-shootings-terrorist-attack-french-victims-latest-news.html#update-20151114-0924

“The Paris attack once again throws the spotlight onto the free-flow of military-grade firearms throughout the European Union, and it comes after sluggish progress by European leaders to crack down on a flourishing black market in illegal weapons.

It is, of course, far too soon to say where the Paris terrorists obtained their automatic weapons.

But the Charlie Hebdo massacre in January, and the botched attack on a Thalys commuter train in August, highlighted the ease with which known extremists could purchase Kalashnikov rifles and other automatic weapons from the former Soviet bloc.

Many weapons are left over from the wars in the Balkans. Typically, a Kalashnikov automatic rifle can be bought for several hundred euros in Bosnia, and then sold on in Belgium or the Netherlands for use in organised crime for ten times that sum. ”

Worth the read to realise just how sincere the political world is when it comes to administering

But remember, Islam is a Religion of Peace, Diversity is our Greatest Strength, National Borders are Raaaaaacist and Evil, and Importing Hundreds of Thousands More Un-vettable Middle-East Muslims into Our Country is the Right Thing to Do!

It is an existential mistake to consider islam a religion.

    Yeah but…. Crusades.

ScottTheEngineer in reply to Anchovy. | November 13, 2015 at 10:22 pm

Dude, 5 minutes before I saw this attack I was arguing with a dude at work about this exact thing. He brought up “all religions are bad” and then “but, the Crusades”. I was about to instruct him on Salahadin and proceed to the inevitable head banging on a wall but had to take a phone call.
I thanked the guy that called me.

NC Mountain Girl in reply to ScottTheEngineer. | November 13, 2015 at 11:17 pm

I’ve had similar experiences. It is hard to determine where the education of those who repeat the hoary old leftist chestnut about all religions being bad was most deficient. Such people obviously know nothing of either comparative religions or world history.

Vascaino in reply to Observer. | November 14, 2015 at 6:47 am

Ooh, you must not mention “religion of peace” cause the things that happen are “work-place violence and man caused disasters”.

Fox just reported a phone call from Bataclan saying people are being executed one by one in the concert hall while begging for help from authorities.

Trump 2016. As Trump so timely said in his 95 mi ute speech last night. He would bomb the shit out of them. We need Trump and Trump wall, your life just might depend on it.

I’ll take Trump to keep me and my family safe 1000 times over Carson and his magic belt buckle.

JimMtnViewCaUSA in reply to Gary Britt. | November 13, 2015 at 6:51 pm

I’ll take Trump OR Carson over any Dem.
And over all of the GOPe candidates too (Jeb!, Kasich, LGraham, …), for that matter.

Hypothetical question for you: assume that Trump is NOT the nominee. Will you vote for the Republican candidate?

Depends on who the nominee is and whether something underhanded was done by GOPe. My days ofvvoting for a republican I dont want to vote for are over.

Common Sense in reply to Gary Britt. | November 13, 2015 at 7:09 pm

    WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
PEOPLE ARE BEING MURDERED RIGHT NOW AND YOU ARE SPOUTING BS POLITICS?????

I doubt that there is much any of us on this thread can do right now to help the people in France, but we can take this opportunity to focus on real threats to western civilization. Politics plays into that.

      Calm Down.

People are being murdered across the globe every minute of every day for multiple reasons. Politics does indeed play a roll in this attack and the longer that’s ignored, the more the body county increases.

Common Sense in reply to Sanddog. | November 13, 2015 at 7:26 pm

Talking politics now won’t do one thing to help this situation right now!!
Very odd thing to say while Paris is under attack Sanddog!

You can’t help this situation until you figure out what caused it and what to do to prevent it in the future.

If you think that answer isn’t political, you’re nuts.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Common Sense. | November 13, 2015 at 7:53 pm

You are severely lacking in common sense, aren’t you. All your hand wringing comments help how? People are being slaughtered in Paris, France. We don’t want more Americans slaughtered on our soil so we think about the future. The only candidate promising to build a wall and deport is Trump. My man Cruz, I don’t know. Politics created the problem and politics will have to solve it. Your overwrought handwringing won’t. Btw, I’ve seen people like you in movies, usually sobbing and screaming “do something!” We are in America. Wher are you?

Gremlin1974 in reply to Common Sense. | November 14, 2015 at 2:34 am

What kind of talk would help the people of Paris right now? There is only one set of skills that I have that could help the people of Paris and those skills are very rusty. Not that they would let me start kicking doors in all the terrorist bases (i.e. mosque’s) in Paris even if I was there and equipped to do dynamic entry.

So what exactly should we be doing?

JimMtnViewCaUSA in reply to Common Sense. | November 13, 2015 at 7:22 pm

I appreciate and agree with your concern, but they’ll be killing tomorrow and the next day too.
There is a need to take it up a level and start considering policies and strategies as well as our normal emotional reactions.

Somewhere in the world people are being murdered ALL THE TIME. So what are we going to do about it?

InEssence in reply to Common Sense. | November 13, 2015 at 8:20 pm

An extremest muslim is a psychotic zealot who wants to cut your head off for their own twisted religion.

A moderate muslim is a psychotic zealot who wants an extremest muslim to cut your head off for their own twisted religion but lack the courage to do it themselves.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Sanddog. | November 13, 2015 at 8:16 pm

Sanddog, are you Christian? If you are, is the Lord’s Supper important to you? Would you do away with it if you could? Are you Jewish? If you are, is the Shma or bar mitzvah important to you? Would you do away with it if you could?

For Muslims, jihad is as the Lord’s Supper and the Shma. It’s a core tenet of Islam. No Muslim worthy of the name will renounce it. That’s why there are no extremists in Islam. There are only those who have set upon the path of jihad and those who have yet to. Dying while waging jihad will bring paradise for the one killed and for the family members who gain indulgences thereby. Which Muslim would speak out against entering paradise?

I’d argue that it’s long past time. Atrocities by “Muslim extremists” are nothing new, yet there’s never been an organized outcry by so-called “mainstream Muslims”.

Makes me think that “Juba Doobai!” is correct: jihad is a central tenet of the “faith” of Islam (and he/she is not the only person to point this out). You can’t remove it any more than you can remove baptism in Christ from Christianity or Seder/passover from Judaism.

ConradCA in reply to Sanddog. | November 13, 2015 at 9:20 pm

The fact is that when you look at the actions and words of the founder of Islam along with the actions of his followers for the next thousand years it’s obvious that Islam is a religion of war and death.

Murphy in reply to Sanddog. | November 14, 2015 at 6:07 pm

Muslims have tolerated the extremists within their own countries acting in the name of Islam for far too long. If they’re serious about separating themselves from the extremists, it’s time to step up to the plate.

I would give this a hundred thumbs up if I could.

Saw reports on Twitter that the Louvre was under attack. Haven’t been able to find any confirmation,, though.

Not seeing that in the feeds I’m looking at, but I’ll keep an eye out. I’m trying to be careful about what I post so I don’t have to go back and filter out things that turned out to be speculation or hoax. If you see something, though, throw it in the comments and I’ll check it out. -a

Expect someone (I won’t mention any names) to explain that these attacks are not terrorism, they are “entertainment-venue violence.”

One of the early reports said that 100 hostages were being executed one-by-one. If terrorists tried that with 100 Americans, how many of those 100 would draw their concealed carry and shoot back? Oh, wait, these attacks are taking place in gun-free zones, so none of the CWP-holders would have their guns with them.

Probably true on CWP holders not carrying their guns, but how many Americans, seeing that the terrorists are executing people one-by-one, would just stand by and wait their turn?

I think a bunch would try to fight back. It may be a losing battle, but doing nothing means a certain death, too. Better a slim chance to save some lives than none at all.

That, however, is a mindset that these days is almost uniquely American.

Lucien Cordier in reply to Archer. | November 13, 2015 at 10:33 pm

Even here it depends on the situation and location. No one intervened when Jasper Spires stabbed that Democrat intern Kevin Sutherland to death on the subway train in DC. They all just looked away and hoped that they would be spared. And that was only one pint sized thug with a knife.

How many people were involved in these attacks? At the theater — 2. And so very many dead. Maybe it is time to reconsider disarming our populace.

I’m perplexed why they didn’t just dial 911.

Sorry to be crass, but we need to learn from the progs not to let a good crisis go to waste.

There are several valuable lessons to be learned here… you’ve hit on one of them.

Juba Doobai! in reply to Valerie. | November 13, 2015 at 8:24 pm

Only 2 terrorists and the French cowered and waited to be slaughtered instead of rushing them? Unarmed in front of armed savages, the French waited to die. Yet, the French ambassador calls Trump a vulture for pointing out that France is a gun free zone.

El Putzo is trying to figure out how to bring MORE Syrians into this country.

El Putzo has declared ISIS ‘contained’.

El Putzo must be licking his chops watching Hollande declare a State of Emergency.

We’re screwed.

There is so much that we don’t know since this is ongoing. But we as Americans better have some adult conversations, dare I say it? Do we take Islamic extremists serious or do we want to continue to play the silly game of let’s all get along with a global group hug attitude? The second question is whether we are serious about immigration? The French are going thru hell. I truly feel for them. Their leaders like most western leaders are useless and don’t care about their own country men and women. Very sad to see what is happening in France but we better get our heads out of our butts and we need to start addressing this now before it spreads here.

Hey commie haters at Mizzou — got a “healing space” for Paris? They actually suffer from haters like you. Know that a majority of us Americans have had enough of the racial and Islamic hate and murder and are about to vote out your sympathizers in the oval office and Congress.

This: “a group of armed extremists” is politically correct twaddle. Here’s the correction: “a group of armed Muslims”.

Didn’t Obama say today that ISIS was “contained?” Is that the same thing as saying they are a JV team?

PhillyGuy in reply to PhillyGuy. | November 14, 2015 at 12:02 am

It would appear that after the bombing of that plane and today’s attack in Paris that ISIS is not being contained as much as they are changing their strategy.

Please keep in mind that most early reports of any violent act, accident or national disaster tends to be inaccurate.

… and most statements by POTUS tend to be inaccurate, self-serving, and/or misleading.

NC Mountain Girl in reply to JerryB. | November 13, 2015 at 10:55 pm

Where did I say anything about Obama? I didn’t. So please explain where you found something to dislike in a simple caution that most early breaking news stories on the internet are riddled with inaccuracies.

In fact, I keep just such an image of myself captured from a crowd shot of a news story I once witnessed as a reminder of how much of any breaking news story to believe. The lead paragraph has six “facts” in the who, what, where, when and how format the media uses. Four of those facts were not correct.

It was the placement of your comment, immediately after PhillyGuy commented on Obama. Also it’s my failure to understand, after 150 confirmed murders, just what sort of inaccuracies are of concern?

NC Mountain Girl in reply to JerryB. | November 13, 2015 at 11:51 pm

I’d be very interested in actual after action reports from the scenes about just what happened as opposed to tweets and instant messages. There can be major differences between American and European law enforcement reactions in such attacks. Generally the Europeans can be a lot less careful about keeping bystander casualties down, especially if they can claim to have killed all the terrorists.

In part this is because Europeans are far less litigious people when it comes to kin becoming collateral damage. In part it is because Europeans also accept a far more authoritarian system. For civilians it can be the worst of all possible worlds. They politicians won’t let you carry arms, even knives and then they turn around and decorate the cops who shoot or gas all the bad guys but end up with as many dead hostages as survivors.

It can become very convenient for some in the government when all the bad guys die. For one thing it can help control the narrative as to how the Muslim radicals were able to do what they did and if they had inside help.

P.S. I didn’t “thumbs down” you. I save those for trolls.

When will President -elect Trump address the people? Marco Rubio and his pro-immigration agenda are both done.

Funny you should post that. I believe those 10,000 “refugees” arrived in New Orleans this week. James Kallstrom was tweeting that 90% of them are unvetted younger men. There is a photo floating around of them in New Orleans.

Leave Teh Crazy on the crazyblogs, don’t infect this island of sanity with such shite.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned that Kemberlee Kaye, whose mother apparently could spell her daughter’s name, referred to “armed extremists?

In other words, a writer on LI can’t even mention “Muslims.”

“Couldnt ,” not “could.”

Hillary Clinton issued a statement on the Paris violence, declaring that the root cause was Bob Hope’s movie “Road to Morocco”, and praised Paris for its stance as a Gun Free Zone, enabling the slaughter to proceed “with a minimum of dangerous return fire”.

Geraldo Rivera’s daughter was at the stadium where explosives went off. She’s fine, but he was visibly shaken. Then he and Shep Smith went on about how we need to take it to ISIS and prevent terrorists from coming to the US.

There’s nothing more satisfying then seeing two leftist moonbats channeling Trump. Maybe more will wake up.

Perhaps Obama has silently waited for this to happen…..so he can put boots back on the ground without pissing off the base. His desire to close Guantanamo Bay and to bring “refugees” here may be dead, though.

Well if the French had provided the terrorists with safe spaces, jobs, and had refrained from their microaggression, then this ” workplace violence” could have been avoided. Europe has signed its own death warrant letting these people in.

    Vascaino in reply to dmi60ex. | November 14, 2015 at 6:29 am

    I don’t think it’s a ” ” workplace violence” ” act “but a “man caused disaster”!

Those two clichés are symptomatic of the “Honour-Shame Syndrome” as Prof Landes of The Augean Stables would phrase it.

Any hashtags coming out of the Whitehouse?

Spent the evening watching coverage of the attacks in Paris. I wonder when it is going to dawn on the west that we are going to have to kill a very large number of these idiots up close and personal right in the middle of their “caliphate” to even temporarily derail their ambitions. It should be the Marines and the Barbary pirates all over again and I really wish I were a younger man.

Too bad political leaders haven’t read Aesop’s Fables. They might have learned something from “The Frog and the Scorpion.” When you let a bunch of fifth columnists (“refugees” or whatever you want to call them) into your country, it’s only a matter of time before they strike.

Meanwhile, we’ve got God knows who/what pouring over our borders. It’s a matter of time before the fifth columnists pull that $#!+ here ~

Let’s just say that I feel the same way for these French slaughtered by Islamonazis as the French feel for Jews slaughtered by their beloved Palestinian savages.

How’s that for moral equivalency?

I posted an excerpt from a post about this last night but it waws deleted, perhaps someone here thought I was plagerizing so here I have posted the title, author and first paragraph.

I would not over analyze this. Follow the money for the basics are who provided the funding and what did they expect to gain?

I suspect there is more than religious fanaticism at play here. The impulse to put a religious or patriotic glass on power politics seems to be close to universal. The Saudi government has huge succession issues even as polygamy creates ever more royal mouths to feed. Much of the educated Iranian population dislikes and even hates its overly pious Ayatollahs but they also admire the vision of a Persian-centric future. Both cultures are struggling for Supremacy in he region.

Hollande now says ISIS did it. Right after his statement, ISIS claims responsibilty.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/act-of-war-france-blames-isis-for-paris-attacks-group-claims-credit/article/2576345?utm_content=bufferc0085&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

When will Obama understand that ISIS is changing their tactics and is taking their acts of brutality directly to the West now? This is not a JV game anymore. Incredibly, he is willing to take Syrian refugees into this country without even understanding who they are. Where is the press on this? It’s just unbelievable.

“When will Obama understand that ISIS is changing their tactics and is taking their acts of brutality directly to the West now?”

What makes you think he doesn’t understand? Perhaps he hates the west as much as they do.

“Incredibly, he is willing to take Syrian refugees into this country without even understanding who they are.”

He understands exactly who they are.
