Second Planned Parenthood video worse than the first

Second Planned Parenthood video worse than the first

“Less crunchy technique”

A second undercover video released by the Center for Medical Progress Monday shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Medical Directors’ Council President, Dr. Mary Gatter, bargaining over dismembered baby part prices with investigators.

It took me several attempts to get through this video due to the nature of the content, so please proceed accordingly.

This is no isolated incident. The video begins with Planned Parenthood President Cecil Richards’ video response rebutting the first undercover video.

According to the Center for Medical Progress:

“Gatter is a senior official within Planned Parenthood and is President of the Medical Directors’ Council, the central committee of all Planned Parenthood affiliate medical directors.

Actors posing as buyers ask Gatter, “What would you expect for intact [fetal] tissue?”

“Well, why don’t you start by telling me what you’re used to paying!” Gatter replies.

Gatter continues: “You know, in negotiations whoever throws out the figure first is at a loss, right?” She explains, “I just don’t want to lowball,” before suggesting, “$75 a specimen.”

Gatter twice recites Planned Parenthood messaging on fetal tissue collection, “We’re not in it for the money,” and “The money is not the important thing,” but she immediately qualifies each statement with, respectively, “But what were you thinking of?” and, “But it has to be big enough that it’s worthwhile for me.”

Gatter also admits that in prior fetal tissue deals, Planned Parenthood received payment in spite of incurring no cost: “It was logistically very easy for us, we didn’t have to do anything. So there was compensation for this.” She accepts a higher price of $100 per specimen understanding that it will be only for high-quality fetal organs: “Now, this is for tissue that you actually take, not just tissue that someone volunteers and you can’t find anything, right?”

By the lunch’s end, Gatter suggests $100 per specimen is not enough and concludes, “Let me just figure out what others are getting, and if this is in the ballpark, then it’s fine, if it’s still low, then we can bump it up. I want a Lamborghini.”

The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).

Gatter also suggests modifying the abortion procedure to get more intact fetuses: “I wouldn’t object to asking Ian, who’s our surgeon who does the cases, to use an IPAS [manual vacuum aspirator] at that gestational age in order to increase the odds that he’s going to get an intact specimen.”

Gatter seems aware this violates rules governing tissue collection, but disregards them: “To me, that’s kind of a specious little argument.” Federal law requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection (42 U.S.C. 289g-1).

The video, like last week’s featuring Dr. Nucatola, was produced by The Center for Medical Progress and is part of CMP’s nearly 3-year-long investigative journalism study, “Human Capital.”

CMP’s Project Lead David Daleiden notes, “Planned Parenthood’s top leadership admits they harvest aborted baby parts and receive payments for this. Planned Parenthood’s only denial is that they make money off of baby parts, but that is a desperate lie that becomes more and more untenable as CMP reveals Planned Parenthood’s business operations and statements that prove otherwise.”

Seven State Governments have opened investigations into Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted fetal body parts, as have three Congressional Committees. The House Energy and Commerce Committee has called PPFA’s Senior Director of Medical Services to testify this month about the organization’s fetal tissue harvesting.”

Pretty much, this:

Which is precisely why undercover investigations like this are crucial to exposing progressive organizations like Planned Parenthood.

Carly Fiorina has a very good take on all this: now is the time to push for changes that both pro-life and pro-death can agree on.

Dismembering babies, harvesting living organs from “non-living masses of tissue”, and disallowing sonograms for the mothers to see their babies but using sonograms to ensure that the child’s organs are preserved during the abortion… Anyone who has even the slightest sense of unease about this process can at least agree that there should be some limits on abortion.

Is it just me, or does she remind you of one of those Nazi death camp doctors.

This is a tsunami. It just hasn’t gotten close enough to start rising up into a visible wave. I predict that lots of Democrats will turn on PP and that governments all across the country will stop funding it with tax money. We may even see a popular demand movement to outlaw abortion although I ain’t holding my breath on that one.

This kind of exposition…along with the Gosnell movie now in production…will be powerfully influential.

Don’t count on the people around you getting this via the Mushroom Media. Make sure you get it to them yourself.

I was really sure the Gosnell horror show was going to penetrate the national consciousness, that if nothing else, the image of dozens of jars of tiny baby feet (that he cut off and apparently preserved as trophies or somesuch) would jolt the vast bulk of the “safe, legal, rare – and besides, it’s just tissue, not really a baby!” public out of their complacency. But it never did really make it past the media gatekeepers.

I really hope this story manages to get more traction than that one did.

The state and Federal investigations of Planned Abortionhood will give it legs that the Gosnell case never got.

You’ll see some new legislation around all this, and the homicidal harpies of the Collective will shriek their way into a republication of all this video.

      It’ll be GREAT…!!!

I disagree. Gosnell robably caused one of the most significant changes in public opinion I have seen on this issue. After Gosnell the sniping within the Republican party and at the Republican party by libertarians.independents on this issue has pretty much disappeared.

I was particularly struck at how the Gosnell case was noticed by several libertarians pundits. They saw perhaps for the first time the truly ugly side of abortion. It got many of them thinking about abortion in terms of science and morality rather than political expediency. These pundits still aren’t quite sure where the line should be drawn with life begins at conception on side of the spectrum and it isn’t human till its mother says she wants it to be human on the other side. But most of them agree the line is currently far to close to the later and that it must move.

The left evaluates political issues morally (e.g., gay marriage) and moral issues politically (think abortion). This shifts abortion into the moral arena and out of the political arena. The left will resist but the power of these videos may be too much for them. Very effective.

I suspect the public saw Gosnell as a ‘lone wolf’ guy, not representative of the abortion industry as a whole. The current emerging Planned Parenthood videos may play very differently.

Lamborghini can’t have been happy about trending on Twitter under these circumstances :-/

ABORT Planned Parenthood

Not A Member of Any Organized Political | July 21, 2015 at 4:02 pm

Ran across this. We need to turn it on Planned Parenthood.

“Resist the social media mob”

“In recent years, social media has facilitated the rapid spread of outrage. A few representative cases:

Deborah Brown Elementary School being bullied into modifying its dress code rules for hair.
Demands to remove the Confederate flag, Confederate memorials, or monuments to historical figures.
The hounding of Brendan Eich from his position at Mozilla.
Renaming Tulsa’s Brady Street.
Demands for renaming the Washington Redskins and other sports teams named to honor American Indians.
Banning elementary school re-enactments of the 1889 Land Run in the public school district of Oklahoma City, one of the municipalities founded on the day of the run.

In nearly every instance, a difference of opinion within a community becomes a topic of conversation for outsiders, who amplify the issue, creating a “shame storm” that pressures the community’s leaders, unaccustomed to worldwide scrutiny, into acting precipitously. In some cases, the outrage has its origins entirely outside the community……

Just watch, now that the secret’s out, the progs are going to turn this into a feature, not a bug.

“Kill your baby and give it to science. Save the world!”

As that guy on the radio likes to say: It’s who they are.

Sammy Finkelman | July 21, 2015 at 5:49 pm

But the science is most probably mostly one scam or another.

That will come out too, if this is examined very much.

sjf_control | July 21, 2015 at 6:01 pm

Does anybody know WHY they want the fetal body parts? Are they viable for transplantation? If not, what does “science” do with a fetal liver, lung or lower extremity?

There’s an image going around Facebook at the moment with the caption “An amazing photo of a baby dolphin inside its mothers belly. Please keep their waters clean and safe.” And of course everyone’s ooh-ing and aah-ing over it. Where I really have to bite my tongue is where I see people who’ve previously posted sentiments like “I Stand With Planned Parenthood” reposting and cooing over this photo.

If we had a taxpayer-funded organization ripping baby dolphins to bits and selling their body parts for profit, that would probably get more attention than this PP fiasco. So depressing.

Just heard the guy behind this on Levin. He said they have more coming, some Gosnell-like. About a dozen videos.
I expect the IRS will be used against him, maybe a SWAT raid which will “find” kiddie porn on his computer.

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to Yujin. | July 21, 2015 at 8:14 pm

I heard him, too. I got the impression CMP knows what it’s up against and has its act together. He sounded very ready and prepared to do battle.

But yeah, the obastard administration is probably preparing to launch investigatory and enforcement ICBMs at these good folks, in 5,4,3,2…..

The printers will be spitting out the search warrants by next week.

NC Mountain Girl | July 21, 2015 at 8:40 pm

I like the way they ordered the first two videos. It is smart and dramatic to build the sense of outrage rather than lob the worst material first. A growing sense of drama may force the media to pay more attention to the story.

I thought in 1999 when we came across 300 Serbians men taken into Kukes and Tropoje in northern Albania and had their organs harvested and flown to Istanbul for sales that was surely the spawns of Hell committing those horrors. Well its been unleashed in America, and it is even more horrific than my mind can comprehend.

“Well, why don’t you start by telling me what you’re used to paying!”

What does this mean? Are there other places for companies to buy fetal tissue besides Planed Parenthood?

Im glad that these videos are seeing the light of day. In Wisconsin, Gov. Walker just signed the late term abortion bill into law and the normal hand wringing and whining from the left has been conspicuously low and almost nonexistent. Hard to defend this kind of horror with the usual lies while there is direct video proof of the contrary.

Don’t forget, A fetus is not a baby or a child. Thank Gore, Cuba will soon be available for abortions of Amerikan fetuses. Abortion has been fully legal there for decades.

Barry in reply to Jimbino. | July 22, 2015 at 7:44 pm

“Abortion has been fully legal there for decades”

It’s been legal here for decades (Roe vs Wade, 1973).
