U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren pledged today she will not run for president in 2016 and will finish her term.
The Bay State senior senator has been mentioned in the preliminary talk about the presidential race, but Hillary Clinton has generated the most buzz.
“I’m not running for president and I plan to serve out my term,” she said at a press conference in Boston with Mayor-elect Marty Walsh.
When further pressed, she added: “I pledge to serve out my term.
“I am not running for president. I am working as hard as I can to be the best possible senator I can be.”
Her putative presidential campaign may be dead, but her story lives on.
And oh, what a story it was. Some might call it a Great American Fairy Tale.

A woman who ran for a seat in the United States Senate without any life experience to recommend her for the job decides to demur against running for an office currently held by a man who has no life experience to recommend him for the office.
I thought she’d be a freakin’ shoe in.
I have this fantasy of having a Prius pass me on the highway with a “Elizabeth Warren… for Massachusetts!” bumper sticker on the rear of their car. I take my way-too-enormous Chevy Pickup truck (360 fire-breathing horsepower and no apology forthcoming) and perform the PIT maneuver, spinning the Prius into the woods. I approach the car, pull the stunned driver from his seat and yell “What were you thinking voting for Granny Warren!”
My dream was the same – up to the “pull him out” part.
But, isn’t that a signal that they are going to run?
I think she would make a totally GREAT Vice Presidential candidate paired with Joe Bidden for President. They’re both cut from the same cloth, self-important liars.
I’d like to see her run if for no other reason than the sheer pleasure of watching all those investment bankers who’ve backed Democrats for years soiling their breeches.
She must figure she needs some executive experience on her resume first.

This is almost proof that she WILL run. There may be a small chance that Hillary has paid her off not to run, however (which would not actually stop her from running).
