immigration cheat sheet

immigration cheat sheet

From Mickey Kaus:

“Multiple triggers”/Legalization is immediate. DHS just  has to write border  “plan.”  The most any “triggers” can possibly do is delay green cards  and citizenship.

“90 % effectiveness”/ If not reached, triggers only toothless commission. … Also: “90%  effectiveness”–as defined by DHS–is really more like 50%.

“Pay back taxes”/ Only if already “assessed” by IRS (unlikely). Newly  legalized may instead get refunds.

“Learn English”/ Only need to sign  up for English  class.

Clean record”/ Allows two free misdemeanors. Additional  misdemeanors (including assaults) can be waived by DHS.

No “public charge.” Must earn 125% of poverty line / They’re  going to deport people who earn only 124% or less? Ha.

“Pay a fine”/ Can be waived by DHS

“Back of the line”/ Get to wait out the line while  living in the U.S (unlike suckers trying to come here legally).

We should all worry when Congress starts moving quickly.

This is such a farce of a bill that it defies every form of common logic. Yet the flaccid GOP is folding like the proverbial cheap suit. I think it will come back to haunt them in 2014 as well as the rest of us who have the capacity to see through this facade.

Bet busy with NumbersUSA folks. That’s the only entity that’s fighting for us…

What does any of this mean if you have a chief executive who refuses to implement the law?

What will it mean in courts?

Put me down as a NO vote.

The “clean record” part is a joke. Nobody is going to check millions of illegal aliens’ “records.” And because so many illegal aliens use multiple fake identities in the U.S., it would be impossible to check their “records” even if DHS really wanted to it or had the manpower to do it, which it doesn’t.

We saw this in the 1986 amnesty, where the federal government estimated that more than 1/3 of the approved amnesty applications were fraudulent — but said it was powerless to do anything about it.

We also saw it this past year, when DHS didn’t even bother to make a pretense of checking the “backgrounds” of millions of DREAM Act (by executive order) amnesty applicants. They’ve just been rubber-stamping the applications — a reported 99.5% approval rate so far!

Of course, even if the illegal alien is a known violent felon with multiple convictions, the amnesty bill still gives Janet Napolitano the discretion to give him/her amnesty, in the interests of “family unity” and/or for half a dozen other idiotic reasons, none of which a court may review.

It’s a total scam, folks. By design.

What we’ve got here is the power and momentum of a psychological compulsion among the GOP. That is, the ruling class of the GOP is deeply motivated to pass this bill. So stopping it is going to take an immense effort.

The ruling class GOP really believe it will be redemptive, in every way they can imagine. As they see it, they will purge their souls of the racist label, prove they can rise above petty politics and cross the aisle to work with a scandal-beleagured President to achieve a noble goal and win plaudits from the MSM in the process, win a lot of minority Latino love, and just feel damn good about themselves.

Unconsciously, they want to save Obama.

These motivations are variously misguided, pointless, futile, false and meaningless. But they are still awesomely powerful.

Ann Coulter accurately explains why the Republican Party’s immigration strategy is a reason why it deserves to die:

Starting with the Unaffordable Care Act, these bills mandate a permanent money flow to left wing community groups like La Raz to take over some of the role of government in implementing these programs. The days of Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall are back.

Marco so badly wants his big boy pants.

Only 15 republicans opposed this travesty.

What a bunch of bunk. This Congress is shameful.
