That’s how many Twitter followers we have as of this writing for Legal Insurrection and College Insurrection, respectively.

If you are not on Twitter, you need to be.  It’s easy, you can use the same fake name you use here.

Then you can follow @LegInsurrection and @CollegeInsurrec.

While you’re at it, you can “like” the Legal Insurrection and College Insurrection Facebook pages.

Ever a “Wild sider”, I am subscribed to your YouTube channel.

I’m soOOOOoooo edgy…

Professor–

I love your site, but I’ll never be one of those zombies who walk around all day staring at an iPhone in their hands waiting for someone they don’t even know to “tweet” them. It drives me nuts when I go to a restaurant or other public place and see entire families staring at their smart phones rather than engaging in conversation. To me, Twitter and Facebook are just further signs of the decline of civilization. /curmudgeon mode OFF

If Orwell’s Newspeak is to appear, Twitter would be its most successful organ. Its lure of concatenated ideas for the sake of efficency may drive willing, but unwitting, audiences further into easily manipulated subcultures.

Disengagement from modern mass media by our side will result in their side gaining yet another foot hold on our society. There is a new information culture, and we must embrace it.

We’ve given away practically everything to the left. Must we surrender this too?

The word “disengagement” assumes that there was first an engagement. Twitter is disjointed, idiotic, undisciplined and totally without merit. The Manti Te’o kerfuffle is proof enough that his games of pretend on Twitter may cost him a great deal of money. He didn’t get the girl, he didn’t get the Heisman and now he may not get a high salary when his draft number falls. Aparantly, he took advice from the wrong QB. Check out the good things that happened to QB’s like A. J. McCarren and Johnny Football.

Hm…let’s see…….

I’ve been signed up here at LI for a few years now…did the same when CI was created…

Somewhere between the two the Professor said “If you are not on Twitter, you need to be.”

I have to admit I resisted for a while because I thought it seemed like a waste of time like some of the previous commenters to this post because I had heard too many stories of people who use it like a silly chat room (I awoke at 6am, had coffee at 6:15, wearing purple socks today, etc.)

One day I said to myself ‘what the hell’ I might as well see what it’s all about.’
What I discovered was that if you pick who you want to follow with care there is a world of valuable info in Twitterland.

Oh…one more thing…….

Dear Professor, I DO NOT USE A FAKE NAME!
