Uprising of the peasantry reaches the suburbs

Uprising of the peasantry reaches the suburbs

First they came for the countryside, now they’re coming for the suburbs

From Meg in the Philadelphia “Main Line” suburbs:

I thought that you would enjoy this picture of a pickup with bumper stickers.

What is very interesting is where it was parked – in a commuter train station lot on the Philadelphia Main Line, part of the swing suburbs in PA.

In 2008, there were a lot of Obama/Biden stickers on cars, but hardly a one this year, for what it’s worth.

Not many Romney stickers, but then there is always the risk of getting one’s car keyed with something like that, even on the Main Line

Folks, thar’s a lot of discontent out there!

Even here in the heart of liberal land, Austin, TX most of the O’bammy stickers are of 2008 vintage..

The “86 44” took me a moment, but I love it.

I thunk and thunk and thunk some more. Didn’t make any headway. Did a ‘net search. Now, I’m enlightened. First time I’ve seen this, despite there being all sorts of gear with “86 44”.

I’m guessing Paoli or Malvern, Meg. It’s kind of hard to imagine seeing that farther in toward the city. Am I right?

What’s the one that’s been covered up with duct tape?

The Main Line used to be solid Republican (my Mom was a judge of elections in the Penn Wynne/Overbrook Park precinct) but that changed back in the ’80s. Maybe the residents are coming to their senses?

One can only hope. I’m in Merion Station and supposedly one of only two Republican households on the street. I’m not seeing anywhere near the Obama signs that were everywhere four years ago. Drove through neighboring Delaware County yesterday and Romney/Ryan signs were on lawns all over the place.

[…] Professor William Jacobson’s Legal Insurrection has a snapshot of a pickup tailgate that says much about this election. […]

I live in Delaware County in an inner ring suburb of Philadelphia and I’ve seen zero ZERO lawn signs. Granted there aren’t many signs at all but those that I see are Romney/Ryan. It’s so hard to believe that every time I’m out to run errands, I drive around for an extra 10 minutes or so just to make sure I’m not hallucinating.
