It’s crunch time everywhere, but I want to call your attention again to the race in Rhode Island’s 1st congressional district, my home district.
While a couple of public polls showed incumbent Democrat David Cicilline up by low single digits, this race is much tighter.
This is a winnable race for Brendan Doherty, who just recently hit the airwaves very heavily attacking Cicilline’s horrible record.

Although I vote in New York (sigh), we spent much of the year in RI, in this district. We live in a small coastal town that used to be predominantly Republican but now that wealthy Massachusetts residents are crossing the border and making home in our town, Obama signs are cropping up. BUT, almost to a one, our neighbors are singing Doherty’s praises and we’re doing all we can to help get him elected. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him and hearing him speak. He’s awesome and RI needs him.
Now, let’s get rid of Linc Chaffee next!
I’m hoping that one day in the future Legal Insurrection will be written from the perspective of the busy RI-01 Congressman Jacobson in his spare time between votes and other duties.

I don’t like the first part of the second ad, we shouldn’t attack attorneys for who they represent, as everyone deserves representation. But, I did find this today, which made me think of the race in RI: http://www.politifact.com/rhode-island/statements/2012/oct/22/david-cicilline/us-rep-david-cicilline-says-us-has-more-oil-rigs-o/
