Fantasy v. Reality

Fantasy v. Reality

There has been a complete lack of reality this week in our government and media.

Words are not deeds.  This is especially important to remember if you’re the President of the United States who has essentially talked himself into office.

Behold a paragraph from President Obama’s stirring acceptance speech at the convention:

The historic change sweeping across the Arab World must be defined not by the iron fist of a dictator or the hate of extremists, but by the hopes and aspirations of ordinary people who are reaching for the same rights that we celebrate today. So now we face a choice. My opponent and his running mate are new to foreign policy, but from all that we’ve seen and heard, they want to take us back to an era of blustering and blundering that cost America so dearly.

Now take a look at this Atlantic map of Muslim protests around the world—too many of them to count without a scorecard.

Obama’s fantasy land was matched in the media.

To cap off the week in which our mainstream media beclowned themselves and proved conclusively that they are drowning in the Obama tank, the New York Times jumped the shark that jumped the shark.

On the paper’s homepage, in the above-the-banner box that appears only when there’s breaking news of importance to report but no time yet to write it up, comes the results of an…opinion poll.

And whaddya know? It’s a poll favorable to Obama?

Isn’t it time for Obama and The New York Times to throw themselves under the bus?

WAJ Adds — Just saw this — really shocking:

The State Department told reporters Friday afternoon that it won’t answer any more questions about the Sept. 11 attack on the consulate in Benghazi that killed four Americans until the investigation into the incident is complete.

“I’m going to frustrate all of you, infinitely, by telling you that now that we have an open FBI investigation on the death of these four Americans, we are not going to be in a position to talk at all about what the U.S. government may or may not be learning about how any of this this happened –not who they were, not how it happened, not what happened to Ambassador Stevens, not any of it — until the Justice Department is ready to talk about the investigation that’s its got,” State Department spokeswoman Victorian Nuland told reporters late Friday afternoon.

“So I’m going to send to the FBI for those kinds of questions and they’re probably not going to talk to you about it,” she said.

The ONLY reason that poll shows Obama gaining on Romney in anything is that the NYTimes/CBS poll that they are referring to shows Democrats oversampled compared to Republicans by 6%, with the Democrats at 35% and the Republicans at 29%, which if they are right, will be the lowest ever Republican turnout in modern electoral history.

They oversampled Hispanics and young people, while under-sampling the middle categories but get the elderly right compared to 2008 numbers (and those were highs for the democrat demographics). The fact that this is STANDARD METHODOLOGY for the MSM is horrifying at best. They are not even trying to poll the populace anymore (I don’t know if they ever did). You might as well add 5% to Romney’s totals in EVERY poll that the MSM spew out.

It is indeed fantasy vs. reality professor.

Well of course they’re not going to discuss it anymore, they don’t want any information accidentally slipping out before it is polished by the FBI. It doesn’t really matter anyway because the majority of “journalists” are only interested in Romney’s nasty mean spirited rhetoric.

Caption: There will be blood: A Libyan man explains that the bloodstains on the column are from one the American staff members who grabbed the edge of the column while he was evacuated, after an attack that killed four Americans on September 11th.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2202979/Benghazi-attack-U-S-consulate-pictured-Libyan-attack-revealed-officials-knew-attack-plans-48-HOURS-before.html

Both Hillary AND Obama repeated the lie that Libyans assisted, and took (sodomized, dead people) to the hospital, and knew this within 24 hours–even after they always say “first reports are always inaccurate”.

Me, If I’m bloodied (that is a LOT of blood, especially for a hand), I don’t grab a column, in a life and death struggle with those trying to “evacuate” me to safety.

12 hours.

12 hours for the United States to LOCATE Stevens body–yet, they rushed him to the hospital.

Question it NOT.

Romney-Ryan: 40-44 States in November.

http://midnightwatcher.wordpress.com/2012/09/14/barack-obama-2007-radio-interview-the-day-im-inaugurated-muslim-hostility-will-ease/

Barack Obama, November 21, 2007:

“Well, I truly believe that the day I’m inaugurated, not only does the country look at itself differently but the world looks at America differently. If I’m reaching out to the Muslim world they understand that I’ve lived in a Muslim country and I may be a Christian but I also understand their point of view… My sister is half Indonesian, I traveled there all the way through my college years and so I’m intimately concerned with what happens in these countries and the cultures and the perspectives these folks have. And those are powerful tools for us to be able to reach out to the world and when you combine that with my work on the Senate Forum Relations Committee on everything from nuclear proliferation to issues of genocide then I think that the world will have confidence that I am listening to them and that our future and our security is tied up with our ability to work with other countries in the world. That will ultimately make us safer, and that’s something that [the Bush] administration has failed to understand.”

Observer in reply to Hepcat. | September 15, 2012 at 10:11 am

Yes, but how could voters have known that the couple of years that Barry lived in Indonesia as a grade-schooler, or his 2-week college vacation to Pakistan, would not be enough to douse the white-hot fires of hatred and resentment toward the West that have been burning in Islamofascists’ breasts for centuries?

And surely Barry’s undergraduate courses in international relations were more than enough preparation for him to assume control of U.S. foreign policy. And what about that committee on Afghanistan that Barry was assigned to as a junior U.S. Senator (for the half of one term that he served before becoming president)? Sure, Barry never actually bothered to attend the committee’s meetings or hearings (too busy planning his campaign for president), but his name was on the letterhead (much like at the Harvard Law Review, where he also did no work) — that’s what really matters, right?

I can’t decide what is more maddening: that an obviously unqualified and ludicrously naive and stupid man like Obama would have the audacity to run for president, or that tens of millions of idiot voters would actually vote him into the office.

They don’t need to talk about it; we can read about it direct from Africa. The headline I just read (it may not be exact – but pretty close) from Libyan News (or something close), “US Ambassador Raped and Killed by American Installed Al Qaeda Puppets” which is probably better news than we get from American papers.

Breitbart’s all over this.

How about Hillary’s the one who decided to put local yokels in charge of security rather than Marines? After all, the State Department spokeswoman said today that it was “qualitatively” “equivalent.”

Yeah. Locals who run before the first sneeze are the qualitative equivalence of armed Marines.

The most transparent administration evahhhhh will refuse to answer new questions about about the assassination of a diplomat that has turned into an inter-galactic news story.

Got it.

FBI?
What jurisdiction does the FBI have anywhere other than the U.S.A. (yeah, yeah, yeah; Guam, P.R., etc).
Doesn’t the CIA have to work on any *issues* outside of U.S. Federal jurisdiction?
Or are these people just as confused now as they are about the economy, racism, and every other ism?

The FBI? This is going to be about the stupid movie/movie-maker, and not about attacks on American embassies?

No, the CIA is prohibited from investigations inside the US, but the FBI has law enforcement power over our embassies. CIA isn’t a LEA.

Of course, it is Holder in charge of DOJ, so any FBI report that reflects badly on Obama will not appear before the election.

Elections matter. Conservatives who desert or abstain because we don’t have a nominee who checks all their boxes are enabling the likes of Holder, Sebelius, and Napolitano in the Cabinet, Sotamayor and Kagan and Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.

The perfect should never be the enemy of the good, or at least the better.

It would make sense – politically – to have the FBI handle this. Aside from what you mention, if the President is re-elected we may never SEE a final report from the Holder DOJ.

I must stress however, that the Democratic Party has culpability in this matter as well. They are the ones in charge of properly vetting their candidates. It is also their legal requirement to certify that to each state’s Secretary of State so that their candidate will appear on the state’s ballots for Federal office.

I was a registered Democrat when I first got out of school but when I saw how the Carter administration handled Foreign affairs with the hostages in Iran, that was all it took to open my eyes.

Before anyone wants to argue this point, I do NOT speak of the rank and file Democrats – those who work next to us in our jobs and we joke around with during our children’s school activities. I’m talking about the extremists/elitists/statists who have taken over the party. As a conservative,(age, wisdom and all of that) I work to help elect candidates who know and appreciate the fact that the United States is a Constitutional Republic and convince my friends and neighbors to do the same.

I strongly believe that any further attempts to undermine and usurp power – from the political parties to local schools to civic organizations – by those who harbor extremist positions that run counter to our system of governance must be met with strong and vocal opposition, starting with public ridicule. That tactic worked pretty well for the community organizers who apparently represent a large number of the usurpers including the terrorists who are attacking US citizens and the Diplomatic Corp.

To do less is to dishonor the founders who gave everything to make this a free nation.

Further, by ‘properly vetting’ I mean in the same sense that an employer who is considering a potential employee would *vet* them to be sure that they ARE qualified for the job.

Experience and training commensurate with the position are rightfully items that need to be addressed in considering a prospective employee.

I really get the feeling that the elitists in the DNC forgot to do just that and we are now seeing the end results of their poor and slipshod vetting procedures.

Ah yes, the State Department can’t answer any more questions until after the November election.

It’s not pathetic at all. If people are stupid enough to accept the state dept’s answer, it worked for them. If people are stupid enough to accept propaganda polling data, it worked for the propagandists.

What’s pathetic is calling it ‘pathetic’ — instead of calling it’propaganda’ and ‘lies.’

[…] Engel over at Legal Insurrection has a similar take: Fantasy v. Reality There has been a complete lack of reality this week in our government and […]

In view of all the turmoil world wide it would be best if the November elections were postponed until Attorney General Holder and the Justice Department can complete a full and comprehensive investigation. I, your President, am willing to remain at my post during that investigation and hold the reigns of state in my ocean calming hands.

Elections at this time would be too divisive for this country and I just can not let that happen to this land that I like some. I will soon be talking with Governor Romney as soon as he is done processing through Leavenworth and getting a free health review and cell assignment.

So contrary to the statements of the White House, CNN is reporting that the Libyans are saying that they warned the US. The Libyans are also saying that the diplomats were targeted, something that the White House has been denying all day.

Attorney General AKA Cover-up Czar Eric Holder rides to Barry obama’s rescue AGAIN…..

Another thing: this isn’t ‘ineptness’ at all. It’s intentional!

When will people wake up and realize that what is happening is EXACTLY what Obama wants — and this is madness reflects exactly who Obama is. (Hillary Clinton is too dumb to realize what a willing pawn she is: the Ted Baxter of Secretaries of State. She thinks she’s a liberal, doing her liberal thing. But she’s being bought off cheaply — par for her course.)

Take a look at this incredible analysis (as if we needed one?):

Op-Ed: The Obama Domino Doctrine: Pro-Iran/Anti-Saudi

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/11315#.T01_W4cge5g

I can’t take this anymore: Barack Obama is a madman. How can anyone astute enough to be regularly posting here not see that?

To cap off the week in which our mainstream media beclowned themselves and proved conclusively that they are drowning in the Obama tank, the New York Times jumped the shark that jumped the shark. Obama has been surging on Intrade recently. I expected him to plunge.

It’s too soon to worry but not too soon to notice.

Oh great . 300 dickshit muslims demonstrated in the centre of Sydney this afternoon. They were cleared out of a city park & marched onto the US consulate.

For their troubles they got capsicum sprayed & beaten back by dogs (hahaha).

There is no way we will be letting them anywhere near the consulate. There was no burning of the US flag – but plenty of signs about beheading those who blah blah blah…..But on the upside we can easily see & identify these pigs. How stupid they are.

We are not Britain . We are not gormless & they will regret this.

I remember this from Slobodan Milosevic …..”When they are in your land ,beheading your peoples ,in the wars that will surely come -then you will know what this is all about”.

I never believed the western take on the Yugoslavian war not Sarejevo not Bosnia not kosovo.

The serbs were right. The wars are here.

Signs: Behead all those who insult the prophet

Australia has hate speech laws. Will they be applied to those who call for beheading, or to those who are accused of insulting the “prophet”?

I believe there is something but it has to do with inciting violence. That was my first thought . There were 4 year olds holding up signs .

However it was very enjoyable watching it on Tv. they had the riot squad out & everyone looked like they were really into it. The dogs were having a ball! One had this guy pinned to the ground . Muslims were all with big swollen eyes . Little old Muslim ladies were being (looking like uighurs ) were being led away terrified.

      I loved it.

      Bring it on .

Ben Stein has some food for thought pertaining to the cognitive dissonance emanating from Washington:

http://spectator.org/archives/2012/09/14/end-times

The problem in a nutshell is that the left is incapable of seeing Islamists for what they are because they’re too invested in projecting those attributes onto dirty Judeo-Christiany Americans. If there was even an inkling of a sense that lefties understood that Muslim culture is inferior backwards garbage and that they’re neither intellectually nor emotionally well-suited for such trappings of modernity as fee speech, then their hollow concerns about offending these people would feel somewhat different. But the truth is that they perceive us wingnuts as more of an existential threat to their grand designs than they do Samir the goat herder who has explosives strapped to his chest.

Turned on the computer. Having Yahoo! as my homepage, the top headline is…..

Overseas unrest a hurdle for Romney

Among other things, if this firestorm isn’t grounds for this SoS to resign, I don’t know what is.

Why can’t these protestors understand that President Obama will have more flexibility after the election? They need to give him a little more space until then.

Americans are soaking ALL this in and(mostly quietly)thinking about what they’re seeing and hearing…

FANTASY in MSM & Obamaland:Talent & Leadership from Obama.

REALITY: 40-44 States for Romney-Ryan in November.

Great!
You mean if I don’t want to answer for something, all I have to do is open an investigation?
Oh boy, is this ever going to come in handy.
” Sorry, that is under investigation, and I cannot comment on it ” Ho-hooo.
Yeah, well that could cover a lot of ground. I will look forward to a lot more ” Investigations ” and I bet they never really come up with anything.
Just to be safe, I think we should start an Investigation on the Investigation, and then…

Does anybody notice a pattern with the Libyan coverage ?

Stories with any new information are coming from Independent (UK), Guardian (UK), Telegraph (UK) and today USA Today.

So where are the NYTimes, the WaPo, and the LATimes ?

NeoConScum in reply to Neo. | September 15, 2012 at 9:08 pm

Neo…Don’t you mean,”..so where’s Pravda, Izvestia and The Peoples Daily..”?? Answer: ALL are in the Obama Koolaid bucket.

Time for Congress to call for this corrupt administration to resign immediately. International news sources are saying that he had a 48 hour warning where he did nothing. Zawahiri demanded the blind sheik be released or the consequences would be a terrorist attack. They want the blind sheik released, the furor over the stupid Mohammed film is just a ploy to challenge Americans rights of free speech. The ambassador and staff were guarded by Libyan nationals that took them to a safehouse then notified the terrorists of their whereabouts. Pictures posted on international sites of the ambassador’s corpse showed it was lifted and carried like booty through the streets. And now no questions answered. Next, there will be a media, internet blackout that was passed last year, Dictatorship completed! Pray like it’s 1773!

Time for another operation, this time to deceive the pollsters. I just got called by a robopoll and, while I answered the demographic questions truthfully, I lied about who I was voting for. Get enough conservatives and libertarians to do this and we can discredit the pollsters and the media.
