Elizabeth Warren criticized by liberal supporter for almost all-white campaign HQ photo

Obama came under criticism and mockery from the left and right when a photo of his Chicago campaign operation staff had barely a non-white face among them.  All the talk about diversity was not practiced at his HQ.

Elizabeth Warren has a similar problem, and has come under criticism from a liberal supporter when she posted a photo on her Facebook page of her campaign volunteers and interns during a visit by Debbie Wasserman Schultz today:

… how exactly do democrats plan to appeal to minority voters if they don’t include them in their staff. oh wait, they expect blacks and latinos to just vote for them anyway….

I’m just making a point. I see one black guy in the far left corner. Don’t attack me for making an observation. I can’t volunteer. I don’t live in her state. And her being appointed by the President doesn’t mean much if her staff lacks minorities. I’m just making an observation.

This photo obviously does not look like America, and a self-described liberal supporter of Warren noticed and commented about it.  He was met with derision, but didn’t back down:

I wouldn’t be too hard on Warren on this one.  After all, there is an, um, Na…, um, Nati …, oh never mind.

Update:  A couple of other Warren supporters joined in the criticism:

I can Photoshop some feathers and war paint on then. With a little more effort, I can drop in a campfire.

JackRussellTerrierist | July 26, 2012 at 7:43 pm

Perhaps the members of Obama’s favorite “minority” are loathe to assist or join a campaign for the paleface.

That liberal supporter of Warren is nuts.

More than half the people in the photo appear to have a darker complexion than Liz Warren, a noted woman of color.

They’re all doing that “Black Power” raised fist thing.

And the guy second to her right is obviously sporting an Afro.

I’m pretty sure that some of the women in that photo have high cheekbones. They might be Cherokee, or perhaps Delaware or maybe Comanche.

And some Asian grad students. But they don’t count as minorities…

Just wanted to point out that getting a visit from Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the kiss of death with any thinking independent Massachusetts voters but Elizabeth Warren and her progressive interns and volunteers could never fully comprehend that.

Trooper John Smith’s offer to photoshop in warpaint, feathers and a campfire is a great idea. I’d like to also suggest that Lizzie’s Democratic/Progressive choreographers bring along some “Free Gaza”, “Code Pink” and “Occupy This” t-shirts for the next photo shoot.

Look at all those high cheekbones!

They all look as much like Native Americans as Lizzie…

One the one hand, I do see a couple of people near the front that appear to be of Asian descent.

On the other, a lot of times people of Asian descent are not considered to be non-white.

TrooperJohnSmith in reply to malclave. | July 26, 2012 at 8:19 pm

Asians are all smart and, if the late Reggie White was any authority, incredibly ingenious. As such, they are not allowed any preferential hiring or admission quotas. In fact, I think in universities they actually have to hold down the number of Asians.

Therefore, in America of the 21st Century, they are by default, white. Sorry. I hope y’all like NASCAR.

    /sarcasm

What’s with all the raised fists? I thought that was a communist symbol.

And since when did “European” cease to be an ethnic group?

Also looks like lots more women than men. But the high cheek bones are there, and with that Black power salute, they are good to go. although the cuties* in the front on the left look like they don’t quite understand the emotion required in such a salute. The guy on the right has his arm right in front of a Brother, so that was careless.

*That would be the three women on the left, not the guy with the turquoise shirt and matching wristband. Indian jewelry frequently uses turquoise, so maybe he counts as well.

We need to thank Diego A. Arias Villagas for bringing this to our attention, I might not have noticed otherwise.

Diego, the Democrat party is helping you. Don’t you appreciate that? Only the slave owners get to work for the Democratic party, and they need your vote so they can continue your slavery.
You don’t understand that?

“how exactly do democrats plan to appeal to minority voters if they don’t include them in their staff.”

I don’t understand this at all. Imagine a white person saying “This candidate doesn’t appeal to me just because he doesn’t have white people on his staff.” This would sound ridiculous to anyone — including, presumably, the Facebook commenter whom I just quoted. Why do some people insist that minorities (in this case, “blacks and [L]atinos”) necessarily think this way?

    Hepcat in reply to J. W.. | July 26, 2012 at 8:26 pm

Not only would people think it ridiculous if a white person were to say that, many would consider it racist.

    ironghost in reply to J. W.. | July 26, 2012 at 9:21 pm

It doesn’t matter what she says, it matters how she behaves. In this case, classic limousine-liberal: She says she supports minorities, but are there any around? One.

      J. W. in reply to ironghost. | July 26, 2012 at 10:45 pm

The photo is lacking in old people as well, but we wouldn’t say this means that Warren doesn’t “support” the elderly.

Counting heads to check for an appropriate racial balance (by whatever standard) is a weird game I think best not to play. Is Warren to be condemned because she didn’t attract enough minority volunteers, or because she didn’t institute a racial quota system to choose interns, or what? Why would such things suggest lack of “support” for various groups of people? Let’s not go down that road, I say.

It’s one thing to point out that a leftist doesn’t live by the standards of the left and it’s another thing to condemn a leftist by those very standards as if they were true and binding on each of us.

LukeHandCool | July 26, 2012 at 8:18 pm

Why are all these white people making that scary “white power” gesture with their fists?

1. Much the same thing here in the background image at Warren’s site.

I’ve saved a copy, just in case the image is replaced.

2. Warren has a dream in which an American’s worth is not measured by the color of their skin but by the height of their cheekbones.

They are not volunteers. They are slave labor. Get me a cup of coffee, boy.

Please, Professor, give us some national stuff. Give us Fast and Furious. Give us Solyndra. Give us “all 57 states”, “Navy corpseman”, bowing to the Saudi’s.

I don’t see a lot of people who look like me (66 year old white male) either. Actually I don’t see many “more experienced Americans” in that group and most of us have a lot of time to volunteer (and we vote).

ohiochili in reply to Anchovy. | July 26, 2012 at 9:38 pm

Could be that the more experienced voters like us ‘get it’.

Anchovy in reply to ohiochili. | July 26, 2012 at 11:01 pm

That and the fact we have been paying taxes for around 50 years and many of us actually spent time in the military serving our country, learning discipline and how to wear your hat with the bill facing forward and to take it off when you go inside. But mostly paying taxes.

I have seen these type of mealy-mouthed conversations on other sites. You can almost hear the fear in Diego as he makes the comment. How damned sad to be afraid to say what’s on your mind for fear of being attacked (as he points out). How utterly disgusting that they choose to live this way.

The brightest thing in the picture?

The overhead fluorescent light fixtures,

Noticed that as well Anchovy . Most of these 32% ers look like they still live with people of my age group. I’m pretty sure I have underware older than most of these kids.

How come when Nancy Reagan wore red, it became her signature color? When Fauxcahontas wears red she just looks…Bolshevik.

Of course the photo was posed so she would stand out like a Red Banner at an illegal alien protest undocumented immigrant celebration.

Some general thoughts:

1. Yup, Warren appears to have the highest cheekbones of the bunch …. a telltale sign of her Native American status, for which she is very proud.
2. Apparently her assistant is a “blasian” ….. is she in the photo? What the hell does a blasian look like? I don’t think we had “blasians” when I went to college.
3. That book in the lower right hand corner ….. is that a copy of “Pow Wow Chow”?
4. I see Wasserman-Schultz in the photo; I wonder if she just stopped by on her way to seeing her non-reported properties in New Hampshire?

If you look closely, some of them have high cheekbones!

Warren has been endorsed by the Massachusetts Credit Union League. According to Warren:

The League and the credit unions that compose it provide valuable services to their communities and to their members. Credit unions exist not to boost their own revenues, but to serve their members…

Uh huh. Just like Warren is running not to get power for herself, but to serve The People. The endorsement isn’t hard to figure out: Warren opposes banks and credit unions compete with banks. I did a spot check, and a sizable fraction of MA credit unions have .com, not .org, Web sites. Yet the Left dons a halo when they engage in this kind of blatant cronyism.

They can’t avoid the Freudian slips:

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Massachusetts Credit Union League. Credit unions have played a crucial role in the development of the middle class, both across America and within Massachusetts,” Warren said.

(Italics mine.) Shouldn’t she be running for Ambassador instead of Senator?

Meanwhile, Scott Brown has been endorsed by Mike Bloomberg.

For liberals “for profit” companies are evil, non-profits are holy. Right up there with single moms and victims. A sacred trinity.

Mystery Meat | July 26, 2012 at 10:43 pm

They use the derogatory term “tea bagger” for Tea Party members. With their clenched fists, Lizzie’s Legion self-identify as “Fisters,” which is what I wish people would call them.

Now, let’s not judge too harshly. There might be some white Hispanics in there and I’m sure I see a few with high cheek bones.

Since Elizabeth is already a member of an underprivileged minority group, or at least claims that she is so, she does not need to have a racially balanced staff. She balances the rest all by herself.
Anyway this does not look like a politician’s staff. Are any of these folks old enough to vote? Is she campaigning in a junior high school?

Diego, in order to get a response from the Elizabeth Warren Campaign all suggestions must be submitted in Cherokee.

“Asians are all smart and, …Therefore, in America of the 21st Century, they are by default, white.”
In apartheid South Africa, Asians were classified as “honorary” white. In 21st century America, a woman who is whiter than white bread was “a woman of color”. Beat that!

If non-whites don’t want to be involved in a campain, so what?
I don’t think it means anything. Let’s attack them for their bad politics. So white people are into it and blacks and browns aren’t.

Liberals ad liberalism is not about diversity and tolerance.. it’s about in their gaining and keeping power and control via their ideology and their intolerance to those who do not agree with their ideology. They are thus oxymorons and hypocrites that contradict their own projected ideological image.

This is the reason why they have to lie and deceive everyone, because one cannot tell the facts of evidence, aka the truth, which contradicts them at every turn. This is why they, whether as an individual or as a group, turn to their radical alinsky tactics of denigration, smears, lies, insults, ridicule, etc, all emotional radical tactics meant to divert attention away from the facts and truth that prove what they are talking about is false.

This is the liberal way. Make the truth subjective to what they say it is, and not what it is in reality.. Well, this is where we destroy them, by forcing the reality of facts and truth upon them to face.

Warren, DWS, Pelosi, Obama, Reid, etc, are prime all examples of this.

One need only to look at the facts and truth to see that everything they say and do is a lie, a false narrative, ie; the independent individual is not sacrosanct and sovereign, but to be subjected to the priority of the state, ie; a fraudulent, thus immoral ideology that leads people to be impoverished in a squalor of urban blithe misery, voluntarily or involuntarily dependent upon the govt. for everything, which is how they control the people. To liberals this is fairness.. To conservatives this is govt tyranny, oppression, and economic, social, and political insanity.

I counted two Asians and – look in the very back, dead center, right behind the smiling redhead. You can’t see his eyes (almost as if they are blurred out) but I’m pretty sure that guy is 1/32 Cherokee.

To be fair, there is centered in the photo an American Indian!

/

Merriam-Webster now has a good photo to help explain the word “dweebs”.

Not wanting it to not be mentioned, here’s my comment:

Richard Vail Where are the Cherokee’s? She’s claimed to be American Indian to get several plumb jobs, why doesn’t she have more minorities, especially, American Indians? Where are the the Hispanics? African-Americans? Orientals? Where are the minorities?

Besides a lack of “color”, there are mostly “children”. At least they are still childish/idealistic in political thinking, when in their 20’s, for the most part.

How many of those kids have run a business or raised kids?
How many have even worked a job yet?

Warren says none of these kids will ever build anything ..
They are each just another brick in her socialist wall.
Hey … Lieawatha … leave them kids alone! 🙂

[…] nice person) and I certainly don’t support her for Senator. But while I’m amused by the grief she is getting over the lilly-white photo lets point out a few […]

An interesting thing about the criticism is that there is clearly an Asian girl in the second row and an Asian boy standing behind her, but when the liberal says “diversity” the only question really is “where’s the black folks?” Then again, Asian-Americans are generally well-assimilated into American society and don’t profit from an industry that positions them as outside, other, and oppressed. This allows them to be, in a sense, the “other white meat.”

Being “great political actors” means as politicians they don’t believe the hogwash coming out of their own mouths anymore than anyone else does either.

Perhaps a picture of the campaign’s kitchen and janitorial staff would return the collective to racial balance?

Perfect point. Add in the security staff, and you’ve got yourself a majority!

(just don’t ask the cleaning ladies for proof of their immigration status…)

That picture is typical of most of the pictures I found myself in while I lived in Boston. All white but for the mandatory token black couple and/or Asian couple. Maybe once in a while you’ll see two couples but those were rare.

So nothing has changed. And these are the people who would call me a racist for being a conservative in CA while more than half of my friends are other-than-white. We are in the minority out here unless you live in an exclusive community (usually gated) community of liberals where tokenism is practiced.

Is it my imagination but did debbie wash and comb her hair?

It was my imagination. I magnified the photo and there she was…greasy blond hair and all.
