Criminal charges dropped against Aaron Walker, but gag order remains

Last night Patterico reminded us Aaron Walker Still Silent:

Outlaw judge Cornelius Vaughey’s ruling remains in effect. Aaron cannot truthfully blog about public figure Brett Kimberlin without violating a judge’s blatantly unconstitutional prior restraint of his speech.

Just thought I’d mention that. Since it’s still true.

While Walker remains under a gag order, at least he is free from criminal charges based upon the flimsy and outrageous claim that he violated a prior “peace order,” via Michelle Malkin, Brett Kimberlin fail alert: Criminal charges against Aaron Walker dropped:

A free speech win this morning…perfectly timed for the Right Online conference, where thousands of bloggers and activists (self included) are gathering to celebrate and defend our 1st amendment rights. Still a long fight ahead on many fronts, but this is terrific news (via the Court of Maryland case search database):

Nolle Prosequi means “do not prosecute”/”unwilling to pursue.

Michelle’s brilliant website, Twitchy, is following the twitter action.

While Aaron remains silenced, other are not:

Does the gag order prevent Walker from being interviewed about his experiences w/ BK? Couldn’t bloggers, on a rotational basis, interview Walker (daily) then post same? Maybe create a blogpool of a select few bloggers, and others can easiy link?

Gag order?!? Unacceptable.

Send in the big guns. Get the ACLA involved. Now!

Bring Aaron down here to Texas. We can hide him in places so remote that they only have 3-number zip codes. And using a proxy-server (thanks, Sweden!), he can blog in perfect safety and anonymity. Hell, we can call it a bloggers hole-in-the-wall!

This might be one of those times when real civil disobedience* is called for.

*NOT to be confused with anarchist or OWS style “civil disobedience”, which is just mobocracy. True civil disobedience involves exposing yourself to the law, to test the law openly.

So long as Aaron Walker remains illegally silenced, it remains our obligation to speak in his stead. It is my personal belief that he should be speaking, and practicing what is known as “civil disobedience.”

Looked like Walker was just outclassed as a trial lawyer because K sure ran him ragged. What is he, anyhow?

Would it be accurate to have said “A third party, information gathering service sent those emails to K”?

Can someone set up Google notifications for someone else?
