Brought back bad memories

Brought back bad memories

As you know, since some of you sought a coup d’insurrection, I was traveling all weekend and this morning without access to a computer.  Fortunately, Anne guarded the wall all weekend (thanks!) and the State of the Insurrection is sound.

Being computerless, but not internetless, brought back bad memories from my pre-blogging days of being a passive observer of the political scene.

That is the only profound observation I have today.

Oh, that and US Airways has an attitude problem.

ALL of the major airlines have an attitude problem. Southwest is better than most, but even it has some grumpy stewards / stewardesses from time to time.

Often they treat you like it’s a privilege that they are letting you use their service, rather than the customer service that should come with the fact that your use of their service is supplying their livelihood.

…US Airways has an attitude problem.

As does another airline (<— that's two separate links).

You beat me to it, Chuck.

I used to fly every week. This year I’ll fly for the second time in about ten years, and I’m not looking forward to that.

Professor, regarding a legal insurrection at your website – you know that “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”! Or, that the surest sign that a teacher has taught well, is when the students surpass the teacher. 🙂

US Airways

Use the proper name: US Scare.

I’m only half joking. I remember one approach into Charlotte and I thought we were going to get splattered over the country side by a thunderstorm. There must have been a break as we landed safely. Bad weather + limited visibility/data + meteorologist = white knuckle landing.

Delta has been pretty ok by me the last few iterations. Actually on time/ahead of schedule all flights the last round trip. Shocked me. But I’m bound to Delta. In fact, the joke is even when you die, you have to layover in Atlanta before your final destination.

Flying out of Ithaca, there’s not a lot of choice. You can choose between:

Piedmont — booked as US Scare or as United (see above), or

Pinnacle — booked as Northworst or Delta.

The professor returns with his sense of humor intact. The weekend campaign must have been successful. Onward and upward, Professor. May the Legal Insurrection experience positive progress in all of its endeavors.

We try not to fly out of the Philadelphia Airport. They did it over and it looks nice, but now they need to do over their employees.

Ugh Rosalie you aren’t kidding–Philly airport reinds me of the DC Metro, 98% surly black employees. best airport I have ever been to is Valparaiso serving Fort Walton Beach next to Elgin AFB. Most awesome people ever. And US Air Dash planes are the loudest rattletraps I have ever flown in–I end up stuffing napkins in all of the cracks to stop some of the noise.

It has been a while since I have flown, but when I flew quite a bit, Scandinavian Airlines was my choice. I simply made a rule that If SAS didn’t go there then neither did I.

United Airlines completely screwed my daughter this past weekend. Cancelled her flight with no notice to her what so ever. She had to pay for a one way flight to get home sunday from our other daughter’s wedding. A $330 round trip flight ended up costing her over $1000.00 to get home and they are not going to give her any refunds. Bastards all the way around.
