How long until Obama says Georgetown is acting “stupidly”?

How long until Obama says Georgetown is acting “stupidly”?

JWF has some background on the Georgetown Law student who is challenging Georgetown’s contraception policy.  She went to the law school knowing the university’s policy, and per JWF, intending to challenge it.

Unfortunately, Rush walked into this one without seeing the set up, and now the student gets the obligatory call from the President:

President Barack Obama called Sandra Fluke on Friday to express his concerns  to the law student who was called a “slut” by Rush Limbaugh.

“He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the  concerns of American women,” the third-year Georgetown University law student  said on “Andrea Mitchell Reports.” “And what was really personal for me was he  said to tell my parents they should be proud. And that meant a lot because Rush  Limbaugh had questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. I  appreciated that very much.”

Michelle Malkin is right that it was wrong to refer to Fluke as a “slut” even jokingly and even if taken back, because she’s really just a product of our entitlement society.

I wonder if Obama mentioned that Georgetown is acting “stupidly“?

Update:  And Then They Came For Rush Limbaugh

And, never let it be said the President doesn’t have his priorities straight:

I’m with Rush on this. Any twit that goes before congress and the entire nation and says she can’t afford her own contraception and wants taxpayers to foot the bill IS a slut. A stupid slut. Let the buffoons that mount her pay for the “privilege.”

If a woman stands in front of people saying that she cannot afford contraception and wants others to pay for it, and then goes on to tell the amount she pays for contraception that she expects to be PAID BY OTHERS, which, when actually calculated, means the woman is having sex three (3) times a day every day…then she is a slut.

She may be a product of our “entitlement society” but she is still a slut.

Perhaps she should charge money for sex. This would mean she could be called a whore, but at least perhaps she could buy her own contraception.

Actually, Rush referred to her as a prostitute, since she expects the public to pay for her contraception so that she can have sex.
I was laughing so hard at that part of the broadcast yesterday that I snorted.
TThe lamestream media doesn’t get his wicked humor.

And Rush never walks into anything.
He knows exactly what he’s doing.
He’s pulling a Breitbart.
And he’s not backing down.
Love. It.

Did you snort again at Rush’s ending statement today at the end of his show about the White House saying that her name was being mispronounced?
    I did 🙂

I’m waiting for the news that Obama called Breitbart’s family to express condolences.

Remember Dr. Tiller, and how long THAT call took…???

Gateway Pundit is reporting Fluke, portrayed as a 23 year old college student, is actually a 30 year old women’s rights activist.
Could we have actually been played by the MSM? Oh the horror!

News now that WH spokes-hole/liar dropped on Rush, too.

I have it clear in my mind which one represents a tangible threat to my freedom…Rush or Fluke

Punditarian | March 2, 2012 at 3:07 pm

It seems that “Free Love” is still a major pillar of the socialist platform (cf. Igor Shafarevich on “The Socialist Phenomenon,” who shows how from Plato, through the Oneida Community (and by extension to the Obama Democrats), the socialists want to destroy marriage and all family ties, and compel all people to become isolated copulatory units. This will make people easier to control.)

The Democrats make a big show that they don’t want government “in the bedroom,” while championing intrusive over-regulation of every non-erotic sphere of life.

They have planned to make contraception and sexual freedom a major part of the 2012 campaign for a long time — probably years. From George Stephanopoulos’s seemingly out-of-left-field question, to Barry Soetoro’s well-timed call to Sandra Fluke, this is all an effort to convince (especially the young) voters that a Democrat in the White House is the only thing saving them from the End of Sex.

Sandra Fluke’s statement was no “fluke,” but a carefully planned part of a Gramscian campaign to undermine the Church and make political hay at the same time.

You can love Rush Limbaugh’s wit all you want, but don’t forget that the White House now controls the mass media. None of the awful economic and foreign policy news is being reported; all you are hearing about is contraception and sex.

No, it is not the GOP who is waging a campaign on social issues, it is the Democrat Party. And as the mass media frame the issue in terms favorable to them, you will I am sorry to say see just how effective a campaign it will be.

Sandra Fluke APPLIED to Georgetown.

Sandra Fluke is a self-identified “reproductive rights activist”.

Contraceptives are READILY available…FREE…in the D.C. area.

She was just another Nanny Pelosi prop.

AmandaFitz in reply to Ragspierre. | March 2, 2012 at 4:59 pm

Hey, she used this as a way to promote herself. Otherwise, she’s just another 3-L- and there are surreptitious layoffs already happening in law jobs even now.

Patriotic Soccer Dad | March 2, 2012 at 3:08 pm

OhioChili and Gateway Pundit beat me to it, but In other words, folks, you are being played. She has been an activist all along and the Dems were just waiting for the appropriate time to play her.

Unreal. This was all just a big dishonest Democrat ploy to take the attention off of Barack Obama’s assault on religious freedom.

We are all Brietbart and Catholics and Jews and Americans.

As I understand it, Sandra Fluke wants other people (like you and I) to pay for her contraception so she can sleep with as many men as she pleases, all outside the bonds of marriage. If that’s not a textbook illustration of a slut then I don’t know what is.

An entitlement mentality is one thing; demanding that other people fund your sex life is quite another. The line between “Pay me so I can have sex” and “Pay me for sex” is pretty thin.

LukeHandCool | March 2, 2012 at 3:14 pm

1. I think most of her testimony is bunk. I have never heard anyone complaining about the (very negligible) cost of contraception. I’m quite certain the names were not only changed to protect the innocent sex maniacs, I’d bet $10,000 they don’t even exist. Her testimony was bad fiction all for show.

As BarbaraS said in the comments section to the original post on this subject:

“My question is what does being sex crazed have to do with the cost of the pills? You only take them once no matter how many times you have sex. They don’t wear off with use.”

2. That being said, Rush should not be calling her a “slut.” Maybe we all think privately that’s just what she is, but to say that publicly is not only in bad taste, it just gives the opposition ammunition. Now, when I go to Yahoo to check my emails, this is the headline and subheadline everybody sees (remember: the headline is the impression left in the minds of the 95% of people who read no further than the headline … and of course, the story that follows is probably just as biased in its writing).

Headline: “Firestorm over Limbaugh slur heats up.”

Sub-head: “The talk-show host’s salacious attacks on a contraception advocate stir up anger and disbelief.”

Yesterday, a number of times throughout the day I checked my Yahoo email account and each time glanced at the 10 or so news headlines Yahoo offered …. each time, absolutely nothing about the death of Andrew Breitbart.

Today there is this: “Andrew Breitbart death sparks conspiracy theories galore.”

3. Is there any apolitical email service provider out there?

    jaycasey80 in reply to LukeHandCool. | March 2, 2012 at 3:38 pm

When it comes to “bad taste”, it’s hard to beat going before Congress and arguing that the Government should force other people to pay for her sex life – even people who have religious convictions against it.

It is sad commentary on our times when the news story today is not “Woman Demands The Government Force Taxpayers To Fund Her Sex Life” but “How Dare Someone Call A Woman Who Sleeps Around A Slut!!!1!1!” And here we conservatives are, arguing that we ought to be quiet and respectful lest the Liberal Media Gods get angry at us.

The media will always use everything we say against us. Even if we don’t say anything they’ll just make up lies. There is no winning that particular battle.

      Tamminator in reply to jaycasey80. | March 2, 2012 at 3:54 pm

      Damn straight, Jay! Good points.
The left stands up for the woman who is a slut,
and then they get angry when someone from the right points out the obvious.

Rush will never back down. And he shouldn’t.
Besides, he has 5 million listeners a day, and advertisers waiting in the wings to fill the spots that the cowards gave up.
This whole story is a red herring to distract from the fact that Obama is tanking in the polls.
      But it sure is entertaining!

      LukeHandCool in reply to jaycasey80. | March 2, 2012 at 4:11 pm

I agree with you guys, but there will be a tape of Rush’s words calling her a slut and that’s all that everybody who isn’t a news junkie (95% of people) will take away from this.

There are better ways of stating one’s case. The girl is absolutely full of it.

LukeHandCool (who would like to make his case more completely, but he threw his back out and has to go lie down … just sitting in a chair is agony … when he asked his wife to dress him this morning, instead of a little sympathy, she says, “Oh God, this is what it’s going to be like in the future when you’re old.” She’s all heart).

Tamminator in reply to LukeHandCool. | March 2, 2012 at 4:40 pm

Luke, you more than anyone should know that Rush did this on purpose.
Rush provokes. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

And the left AND right fell for it.

He’s sitting at home right now watching the media frenzy and laughing his ass off.

LukeHandCool in reply to Tamminator. | March 2, 2012 at 4:49 pm

Has anybody asked Fluke’s fellow students at Georgetown how they feel about their new found reputation as a bad “co-eds gone wild” video. Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t law school graduates having a really tough time in the current job market? It seems like prestigious law firms would think twice about hiring a Georgetown Law grad.

As for the “slut” comment, anyone who seeks the notoriety of a Congressional forum to announce that you are promiscuous should expect to be censured. The “prostitute” part was a reach, but when you’re asking a third party to pay for your private behavior what else do you call it.

The only thing that surprised this young lady is that anyone dared to criticize her sacred political cow. As much as I question Santorum, this is where his message has meaning to much of America. Promiscuity does have a negative effect on our society…..

Real Gentlemen (and Ladies) don’t kiss and tell.

Rush let her call herself a slut… he just connected the dots.

Tamminator in reply to scfanjl. | March 2, 2012 at 3:38 pm

    Exactly.
She claims she can’t afford $3,000 for contraception, and if you need that much contraception we would have to assume that
she’s having sex all the time.

And she wants US to pay for her contraception.

Rush is making a point, and it’s really quite funny.
But then again, the Traumatized Left has no sense of humor.

When was the last time the Mushroom Media got its hair on fire over Bill Maher, Schultz, or Letterman making AWFUL comments about women on the right…who did NOTHING to earn those imprecations?

For that matter, when did even Nixon use the White House to target his enemies in anything like this way?

With Obama, everything is political, and politics is always very personal.

A Fluke is a parasitic worm. They multiply rapidly. If not removed or eliminated they will kill the host.

Amazing how nature mimics nations.

I agree. This was no “Fluke.”

Do Republicans actually think that we will win the election when the Democrats will set us up royally?

It’s things like this that has me worried continually.

    theduchessofkitty in reply to Scorpio51. | March 2, 2012 at 4:25 pm

    We should be.

When people don’t have jobs to pay their bills or have a little bit of “fun money” (and don’t tell me this is not true), sex becomes the cheapest form of entertainment. Heck, it beats paying for cable!

But when people want their “entitled fun” for free, that’s when things get complicated. “Forget your unemployment miseries!”, The One says. “Here. Have some condoms – on us. And don’t listen to those Republicans who say you have to work for a living!”

    Sickening…

Has anybody asked Fluke’s fellow students at Georgetown how they feel about their new found reputation as a bad “co-eds gone wild” video.

Sandra Fluke Does Not Speak for Me

Go back 10 years, have Pelosi run the same circus, and have Rush Limbaugh make the same comment. Then go back another 10 years and pose the same situation. Keep it up until one of the two following things happen:

1. The public outrage that Pelosi would do such a thing precedes Limbaugh’s remarks.

2. Limbaugh would be fined for using language not permitted by the FCC.

Which would occur first?

theduchessofkitty | March 2, 2012 at 3:45 pm

This chick (because I can’t call her a “woman”) thinks she has a right to the American taxpayers’ dollars so We the People can provide for the maintenance of her sex life.

Sorry, honey. We The People ain’t no pimps. If you wanna party, YOU PAY FOR IT!!

But maybe Obama will provide you of the money. After all, since he now is on your side in this issue – maybe he can give you the money you need for the contraceptives you seek… You don’t even realize The One is using you like a cheap-

Once again, Rush was right.

Malkin is not right and neither are you. Rush was not wrong. When are you people going to understand and learn that you can NEVER concede any point to the Democrats? Never apparently.

Don’t play their game. Defend Rush. If everything Sandra Fluke said is true she IS a slut.

SoCA Conservative Mom | March 2, 2012 at 3:52 pm

I’d like to know what she’s getting for $1000 spent annually on contraception, because $83.33 spent on pills or condoms seems excessive to say the least.

We can all probably agree that this was a set up by Pelosi and she got caught, because no body spends that much on contraception in a year, regardless of the form of birth control or how often it is used.

theduchessofkitty in reply to SoCA Conservative Mom. | March 2, 2012 at 4:17 pm

    You do have a point.

I know for a fact that someone can get three or four months supply of the BCP at PP for a reasonable price – with a prescription, of course. And yes, they do Pap smears and other tests for STDs.

Don’t tell me she hasn’t been going to a PP clinic anywhere in the DC area. That’s a major-league college town: there are quite a few of those around. Of course, if you can get through the security and the barbed wire… But yes, they do. I can see in a place like DC that female college students are PP’s biggest clientele.

So this chick can’t give any excuses here. Or else, she’s playing people for dumb-a**ses. Yet, she’s now the one being used like a cheap… by The One himself!

Ms. Fluke should adopt the Obama war policy used in Iraq and Afghanistan…

premature withdrawal.

Followed by loud declarations of victory.

Henry Hawkins | March 2, 2012 at 3:57 pm

One of many arguments against Obamacare is the concern that a federal goverment which can force you to buy health insurance can force you to buy just about anything if it so chooses.

This Fluke thing is a combination trial balloon for folding contraception under the Obamacare umbrella of covered medical services as well as a diversion tactic, designed to get the public to defocus off economic issues and onto either attacking or defending the aforementioned trial balloon on contraception.

With the general argument against Obamacare in mind – that if it survives, the feds can order us to buy anything – think about this notion that contraception is sufficiently healthcare-related to make it a tax-payer funded entitled service. Think of all the things that meet the criteria of ‘healthcare-related’ at least as closely as does contraception:

Anything dental related: Toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, dental work, dentures, etc.

Anything diet related: Low-cal anything, dietary consults, nutritionist consults, diet supplements, alt-health foods, and plain old food deemed ‘gov’mt approved’ like vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc.

Anything exercise related: Fitness programs and equipment, fitness consults, fitness trainers, weight training paraphernalia, running paraphernalia, etc.

Any of these things meet the same leftist/statist criteria and are as justifiable as is taxpayer funded contraception.

We could easily think of a dozen other examples. ‘Tis madness, though I believe it’s just a trial balloon and purposeful diversion at this point.

It deeply saddens me that there is even one member of the US Congress, regardless of party, who thinks this is an appropriate witness and subject for a congressional subcommittee hearing.

Uncle Samuel in reply to Henry Hawkins. | March 2, 2012 at 4:04 pm

Drudge reported last year that the taxpayer funded health care (Medicare/Medicaid) paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for ‘pen*s pumps’

The Obama administration is verrrrrrry interested in folkses sexual gratification…and no expense is spared.

But the priority to these people is not really contraception, it’s making the taxpayer pay for abortion, AIDS treatment ($600,000. per patient per lifetime)…and other STDs, etc. With government health care there’s no actuary asking embarrassing questions about numbers of partners, prior HIV, HPV, herpes, STDs diagnoses, practices, etc. But gratification and abortion are their first love.

Where there’s worship of Baal, there’s going to be a sacrifice to Molech.

Unfortunately, my 2008 female law grad already bought a bed from SleepTrain two weeks ago, or I’d have told her to go elsewhere! (And, by the way, my daughter barely had time to eat dinner while in law school, so why is Georgetown Law so academically easy that their female students have time to indulge in so much sex?)

A couple of years ago I sent Rush my name and address. While I don’t agree with him on everything, there is enough agreement. We can not choose the time of our deaths, but we can choose our companions. When they come for Rush, I want them to find my name, and they can come for me too. They can find me Sunday mornings at Mass, if that will help.

I wrote a blog about this woman… I think the fact that he called her is absolutely stupid. http://indignantconservativemom.blogspot.com

While this may be helpful for Rush’s ratings and helpful to the libs for fund raising – It’s not helpful for Conservatives.

Many people think of Rush as the voice of Conservatives. Speaking as a Conservative, the more we focus on beer and circus and let the real issues fall by the wayside then the more we have played into the hands of the opposition.

So if the point we are trying to make in this argument gets lost in the circus then you have achieved nothing in advancing conservative ideals. The first thing you learn in politics is “stay on message.” I thought our message was Jobs, Obamacare and the economy because those are the issues we win on. And please, don’t anyone say this free birth control Fluke thing is about Obamacare because most people won’t get that connection, it will have been lost in the name calling and banter. Exactly how does stirring up the liberal base to rally with support and money to Dems help us? It doesn’t.

What kind of 30 year old self identified feminist has to play a 23 year old inexperienced “girl” to make her point?

Ragspierre in reply to Anchovy. | March 2, 2012 at 5:04 pm

As her story is fisked…and it WILL be…you will find it is a fabric of lies.

Example: classmate who died of cancer because she could not get the pill.

I liked that Rush got to the underlying issue – if the government is allowed to pay for your contraception, then you are giving also giving them control over your contraception and much more.

How far would this administration go with control over your sex life… dictate when and how many children you are allowed have? Not a crazy question with this administration who is already trying to control what school children eat at lunch.
And consider this:
http://hotair.com/headlines/archives/2012/03/02/sebelius-fewer-pregnancies-and-births-will-cover-the-cost-of-the-contraception-mandate/

Not a slut or a prostitute. I do find it pathetic that in the name of feminism(of all things), that she is incapable of paying for birth control and demands the Catholic Church to cover the cost in their health insurance.

Ragspierre in reply to ReneeA. | March 2, 2012 at 5:06 pm

But it isn’t JUST the Catholics…it is ALL of us, under the new, improved mandate.

    Why the two thumbs down?

I think calling her a slut was wrong, just when people call me a ‘breeder’ for having four children or practicing a form of natural family planning to have/space children.

As a Catholic, it isn’t fun being call horrible names. I don’t agree with this law student, it’s upsetting in her demands. Slut she is not, just sadly way too focused on this demand for free contraception.

      ella8 in reply to ReneeA. | March 2, 2012 at 10:23 pm

I agree. Rush is a pig at times. However even pigs have a right to free speech. I know what you mean about the breeder comments. To many of the eco warrior generation, having children is the greatest sin and they express it often. They are trying to break the Church because their true agenda goes beyond free birth control. They want mandatory birth control. That is not just conspiracy, it is in their books, it is in their journals. The truth is out there. The Church is standing in the way and they will do anything to take it down.

        ReneeA in reply to ella8. | March 2, 2012 at 10:33 pm

If President Obama put as much effort in his Fatherhood Initiatives, as he did on mandating free birth control, women wouldn’t worry about getting pregnant because they had faith that the father of her child wouldn’t abandon her and the baby.

        http://fatherhood.hhs.gov/

I’m stunned no one has picked up on how Barry proved to be so completely out of touch today telling Fluke her parents should be proud. Would any parent you know be proud of that daughter? She told the world she has premarital sex, was ridiculed by Rush, made headlines all across America, the President has two daughters. Really, he would be proud of his girls? The man’s in lala land.

Great, a long thread arguing how it was ok for a famous talk radio show host to call a woman a slut while the unemployment rate just went up again, gas is alsmot $4 a gallon and people are sleeping in their cars. No wonder the country is a mess.

Juba Doobai! | March 2, 2012 at 8:15 pm

1. Rush is right. I heard his riff on this, and it was bust a gut, laugh out loud hilarious commentary not only on social affairs but also on personal and federal fiscal ones.

2. Those who think Rush’s talking about this is a distraction, well, you’re wrong. In addressing this, Rush is specifically talking about America’s fiscal health. We are $16 trillion, and rising, in debt. Yet, the Democrats went out of their way to install a long plant at Georgetown in order to undermine a Catholic institution and, more importantly, to have women as government dependents. When you’re talking government dependent, you are talking budgetary outlays of money we don’t have.

3. Social issues cannot be divorced from fiscal issues because they provide the rationale for small government. In the social issues we see the things we want government to stay out of, not spend money on, and not enslave the people on with their funding.

4. This woman has humiliated Georgetown’s females by describing them as sluts, and she has diminished Georgetown’s men by implying that they are irresponsible mooches who depend on women to pay for their sexual pleasure. She has also seduced the law school’s dean into rejecting Catholic principles in his support of her promiscuity and demand for contraceptives. He when he joined her in decrying Rush, he rejected everything the church stands for. He should be removed from his post because he will buckle and provide exactly what the Church is fighting against.

5. When I was in grad school, sex was a fantasy.
