Via Media Bistro:
FNC’s Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry got the first question at today’s joint news conference between Pres. Obama and Lee Myung-Bak, President of South Korea. Henry asked the president about the alleged Iranian terror plot, and used a quote from GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney who had criticized Obama’s leadership.
Obama responded with, “I didn’t know you were the spokesman for Mitt Romney.”

Somebody’s getting cranky! Better get used to it Barry, 13 months is a long time.
I have been trying to view this all day. I saw a tweet of it, but couldn’t get to the video to hear it for myself. Thanks for posting!
What a puerile, petty man. 2012 can’t come fast enough!!
Of course, if we get all the data on Fast & Furious, then we might just be rid of him sooner, if you believe Sipsey Street Irregulars, as blogged by “Dutchman6”. (Note: read all 3 parts – long, but informative.)
They assert, via their sources, both that Hillary was complicit in planning Fast & Furious and that the White House had to know, because of specific meetings with her assistant/deputy sec. of state and Obama. Now just a paper trail to prove it is required.
I hope Fast & Furious gets an independent investigation, and that the paper trail (electronic and physical) reveals how far up the chain this went. Then 2012 might be all about Obama’s meteoric downfall. That is, I’m sure, the last thing this administration will allow.
In the mean time, 2012 and voting him out seems so painfully far away.
Nothing more than a petulant child.
This guy couldn’t be more unpresidential if he tried.
Perhaps another title for the Obama response might be “Cheap. Shot. To. Denigrate. The. Questioner.”
It’s right out of the Alinsky playbook.
Re DINORightMarie on Fast & Furious:
There may be an independent investigation it might be enough to impeach Obama in the House, but it’s never going to be enough to convict Obama. Harry Reid won’t let that happen Even if Obama were to come out personally and say “I knew about, authorized, approved and signed off on Fast & Furious,” the Senate Democrat Party operatives would back him.
It would be another Bill Clinton moment, where 13 vulnerable Democrat Senators might be allowed to vote for it, but that 14th Democrat Senator won’t, citing his “conscience” that Obama did wrong, but is fundamentally a good leader who made a bad choice. That’s also assuming that all the Republican Senators vote for it, which may be wishing too much from the RINOs in the party (McCain, Snowe, Collins, etc…).
Actually, I’m willing to be that most of the Liberals and Independents don’t actually care about Fast & Furious. It’s only us Conservatives. The Libs and Indys think that it’s just us trying to score political points any way we can, which is a shame, because it misses the larger damage that Obama’s underlings are doing to the governmental structure and the inherent dishonesty in attempting to first say “guns are walking across the border, so we need stronger gun control measures” followed by “well, we let those guns walk across the border to show that we need stronger gun control measures.
Sorry, I miswrote. The number of Senators to convict should read 19 and 20, not 13 and 14 respectively.
If Sarah Palin is a correspondent for FOX news, maybe she could get credentialed to cover these news conferences. I imagine Obama would soil his trousers if she stood up and asked a question like that.
It is bad manners to ask an unrelated domestic question of a President/Pm when they are in press conference with a foreign leader .
There are many questions USA/SKorea eg – the FTA & why did it sit on the Presidents desk unsigned for weeks? There are Nth Korean issues .
I am no Obama fan but the question was out of line.
The terror plot is not a dosmestic question, as it involved international terrorism.
As for being bad manners and out-of-line, even if it was, since when has the media been anything else? They lie blatantly and cover dishonestly for people they like, but they aren’t notably polite in any case.
I have to agree with OwenJ in this instance.
It may have been bad manners previous to the GW Bush Administration (43) but 8 years of the press hounding Bush on every domestic front every time he was entertaining a visiting diplomat has made it to be common practice to ask about any issue at any press event.
So were most of the questions the press asked Bush during these kind of press conferneces with the sole object of embarrassing him.
This is a wonderful scene obama just showed the President of South Korea. Is it any wonder the whole world is laughing at us because our president is a ptty dunce?
ptty=petty
Could he even *try* to be presidential when there’s another head of state next to him?
God it’s embarrassing.
I love the way when he does these asinine things he acts like he is the only grownup in the roomand and for sure the most intelligent person there. Such a shame he has to put up with these pesky idiots asking questions he doesn’t want to answer. Don’t they realize how wonderful he is and how he doesn’t have to explain himself or his actions to anyone. Those are for us peasnts to accept or else.

So were most of the questions the press asked Bush during these kind of press conferneces with the sole object of embarrassing him.
There was one press conference (summer of 2003, if I recall correctly) in which three different “journalists” asked President Bush essentially one question: “C’mon, out of all the possibilities, tell us what you believe your biggest mistake as President has been!”
Luckily for American Presidents the visiting Pm /leader knows an awful lot about USA .
Maybe they should answer the questions for them . ( I grant you Bush was no star either ).
But it happens elsewhere because Journalists are pretty mediocre everywhere. My favourite was a Presser with Putin . The home guy getting grilled & Putin with his best poker face probably thinking of fancy ways to disappear Russian press pests.
i would ask the Korean guy – Just how have you guys managed to be a ship building mega force in such a short time? Then could i import some of those machines that dispense tasty hot noodle dishes that line the streets in Korea.
I was not a Bush fan or supporter, but I never ever remember GWB acting like a petulant child like this current thin-skinned man. What an idiot!
According to a read-out of the phone call provided by the office of the speaker, once the president and speaker finished exchanging niceties over the FTAs, Boehner “respectfully challenged” Obama for saying he had not yet seen a plan from Republicans to create jobs.
“I want to make sure you have all the facts,” the speaker told the president during a phone call that lasted about 10 minutes, according to the read-out.
The speaker then reminded the president that House Republicans put forth a Plan for America’s Job Creators in May, and recalled that he and other members of the GOP leadership team had spoken with Obama and his staff about the plan and they’d referred to it on numerous occasions, including in letters addressed to the president.
“The speaker told the president that when he sent his jobs plan to the Hill, Republicans pledged to give it consideration, and have done so,” the read-out stated. “The president was reminded of a memo written by GOP leaders outlining the specific areas where they believe common ground can be found. The speaker also noted that a number of the president’s ideas have already been acted on in the House, including a veterans hiring bill, trade agreements, and a three percent withholding bill approved by the Ways & Means Committee today that will be considered on the House floor this month.”
Obama never had to face a critical audience until he became President. All through school he was treated as a golden child. Preppy schools leading to admission to the Ivy League where his skin color was a sure passing grade, no matter how awful his work.
Now he’s entering his middle years and suddenly people demand accountability, proof, hard work. Of course he’s going to be thin-skinned.
He’s gotten everything he has ever owned on the basis of that skin and now we are examining the content of his character. He comes up shorter than Vern Troyer standing in a mine shaft.
If you were a good little racist liberal you’d just acknowledge that you are at fault for not seeing the sheer genius behind his every move and that it’s really your fault that the nation is suffering, not his. He was only the leader. We didn’t listen to his many speeches with the proper frame of mind. Or maybe it’s your Tea Party-going neighbor who is at fault. That’s right. What’s his name? Kulack? Jew? Who cares. It’s his fault and he has to pay for Obama not looking like the god he most surely is.
I seem to recall the press asking Bush embarrassing DOMESTIC questions even when he was touring other countries in press conferences with the leader of that particular country. The liberal (communist) media has no shame but they want polite discourse now. And discension is not the hightest form of patrotism now. And making fun of the President of the United States is a crime now. Such hypocricy is unbelievable. My opinion of the American media (never high) is a rock bottom now, never to rise again.
Good journalistic question pertinent to international affairs and the current situation:
“What specific steps will you take to hold Iran accountable, …
Political posturing typical of Fox News:
“ ‘specially when Mitt Romney charged last week quote, ‘If you do not want America to be the strongest nation on Earth, I am not your President. You have that President today.’ “
Paging Dr. Pavlov . . . paging Dr. Pavlov . . .
I love it. The President of the United States of America holds a press conference with another head of state, and the local press asks, not the questions HE wants to answer, but any ol’ thing they please.
I remember one of the Soviet leaders asking President Bush why he put up with that cr@p, and he calmly explained that he had no control over our press. It was a teaching moment probably lost on the individual, but I am willing to bet there are people in Russia, Iraq, and Egypt that know about it. I say that because our news stories about meetings with foreign leaders make it into the world news very frequently.
