The Obama White House’s restrictions on media access to its fundraising events makes a mockery of its claim to be the most transparent administration in history.
If anything, there is almost a Nixonian quality to the level of control, paranoia – and lack of credibility – this White House has demonstrated on the issue of media access to President Obama’s fundraisers.
Sounds familiar, to me:
The “Obama is Nixonian” meme is spreading because it is believable, even after just 10 months.

Does the astroturfing of the OWS demonstrations remind anybody of the other “dirty tricks” he was said to have used? (Besides burglary, that is.)

The other most endearing quality that Obama shares with Nixon is in his choice for VP. Spiro T. was a loud mouth baboon who couldn’t find his brain unless it was Velcroed to his head, a quality that Biden shares. Of course, it turned out that Spiro T. also was corrupt and that is not yet apparent in the case of Slow Joe.
Wish Pogo were still alive to demonstrate how idiotic Obama’s administration is behaving.
But Agnew was much more articulate than Biden. He came out with lots of clever statements that drove liberals absolutely crazy but which many citizens loved.
He rose from a county executive to VP through a series of flukes. He was the Republican nominee for Governor of Maryland back when Republicans never won election for statewide office in Maryland. But, Maryland had a real primary, where the voters really selected party candidates. Democrats selected a real nutcase candidate for governor (his slogan and only campaign issue: “Your home is your castle, protect your castle.” It referred to fair housing law proposals.) Agnew won in a cakewalk. Apparently he was a compromise candidate for VP and the rest is history.
It really does look like a credible comparison.
Seems to me this is insulting to RIchard Nixon. Paranoid and secretive Nixon may have been, but he was competent and prepared for the job as President.
Indeed. Not only that, Nixon (and Agnew) resigned in shame they recognized and felt. Obama views himself as an entitled imperialist. He is immeasureably more corrupt and more dishonest and sees no need for shame.
Liberals in general and Obama in particular have become very adept at accusing their opponents of the thing they are most guilty of. He accuses the Republicans of considering only politics and elections rather than the Country’s welfare while he has given up on governing and is in full campaign mode. He accuses Republicans of not caring about job creation while his policies destroy jobs. He accuses Republicans of not proposing solutions to economic problems despite numerous proposals and the House-passed budget while he won’t even talk about proposals to deal with the deficit/debt or the economy.
Then there are the numerous promises he makes and then pays no attention to, like the transparency thing. Unbelievable.
Nixon’s legacy was a generation of Democrats in power in the halls of Congress.
May Obama’s be a generation of conservatives in power in the halls of Congress.

One other ‘Nixonian’ attribute is the looming shadow of the “Fast and Furious” and Solyndra scandals. If the Republican Party secures a majority in the US Senate, and if – one hopes not – Obama secures re-election, the stage would be set for an Impeachment with the accompanying disastrous collateral damage to our economy and foreign policy.

The Liberal media gets what it deserves, and what it deserves is, a dose of reality… When they become the willing voluntary propagandists, of a corrupt and oppressive regime, with Obama as it’s dictator-in-chief, conspiring against Free Speech, and Freedom of the Press, aka, the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution, against the American Patriotic People.. thus, they get what they deserve..
We tried to warn them, but Nooooo.. they could care less about Freedom, Liberty, Equal Rights, let alone our US Constitutional Rights, period.. as they trashed us with smears, and lies, using their saul alinsky tactics against the Tea Party Patriotic American People.. supporting and defending Obama’s tyrannical regime, because of their blind ideological Anti-American liberal socialist-marxist agenda..
No sympathy from the American people, will be forthwith coming, I can guarantee you that..
