The White House is rolling out a new “petition” system designed, apparently, to help citizens get straight answers from the White House on issues they care about.
Yeah, I’m not buying it either. Isn’t this the same White House that tried to claim the high ground during the debt ceiling fight and then didn’t (in part, because the markets were afraid of it) release any plan at all?
Theoretically, all they’re asking for is 5,000 signatures to get a straight answer. So as soon as it’s live, let’s flood this thing.

Interesting that this new gimmick uses the phrase that has become something of a signature line for the tea party, We the People.
Oh goody! I have some wonderful petition ideas for this WH:
1. Stop using the FCC to shove through net neutrality
2. Stop the EPA from enacting cap and tax
3. Stop using the INS to enact amnesty / the dream act
[well, you see where this is going, stop using the executive branch to cram through every piece of loopy leftist lunacy that couldn’t get passed by Congress, even when they had super majorities.]
4. Stop the TSA from using intrusive and unnecessary “screening procedures” (aka gate rapes and porno scanners)
5. Fire Eric Holder
6. Fire Napolitano
[well, you see where this is going, fire every incompetent who hasn’t already run for the hills or been shown the door]

They’re gathering names for the re-education camps aka gas chambers. Obama did say 25 million, didn’t he? The h*ll of it is I don’t know whether I’m joking or not. What makes anyone think obama will ever pay any attention to anyone who petitions via this web site? He doesn’t even pay any attention to congress. This is just another ploy to keep us sweet for awhile and shut us up while he further dismantles the country.

The nanny state impulse runs strong in the Golden State, where the State Assembly has passed a bill that would virtually regulate babysitting out of business. After 2 hours of babysitting, a mandatory 15 minute break must be give, meaning that a stand-by babysitter must be present. Then there are the paperwork requirements, and the severe penalties that kick in for any parents who fail to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. State Senator Doug LaMalfa writes:
The bill has already passed the Assembly and is quickly moving through the Senate with blanket support from the Democrat members that control both houses of the Legislature – and without the support of a single Republican member. Assuming the bill will easily clear its last couple of legislative hurdles, AB 889 will soon be on its way to the Governor’s desk.
Under AB 889, household “employers” (aka “parents”) who hire a babysitter on a Friday night will be legally obligated to pay at least minimum wage to any sitter over the age of 18 (unless it is a family member), provide a substitute caregiver every twohours to cover rest and meal breaks, in addition to workers’ compensation coverage, overtime pay, and a meticulously calculated timecard/paycheck.
Failure to abide by any of these provisions may result in a legal cause of action against the employer including cumulative penalties, attorneys’ fees, legal costs and expenses associated with hiring expert witnesses, an unprecedented measure of legal recourse provided no other class of workers – from agricultural laborers to garment manufacturers. (On the bright side, language requiring an hour of paid vacation time for every 30 hours worked was amended out of the bill in the Senate.)
Unfortunately, the unreasonable costs and risks contained in this bill will discourage folks from hiring housekeepers, nannies and babysitters and increase the use of institutionalized care rather than allowing children, the sick or elderly to be cared for in their homes. I can’t help but wonder if that is the goal of AB 889 – a terrible bill that needs to be stopped.

If 5000 of us ask for his resignation, does that mean his little council will consider our suggestion? Oh, this is SO going to backfire on the WH Student Council (because that is the maturity level of the current administration).

I suggest we start with a petition asking for all communications between the White House and the Department of Energy regarding the $530 million loan guarantee to Solyndra at a amazingly low interest rate.
We should be aware that there are connections to Obama fundraising involved as well as knowing that Solyndra has now gone Chapter 11, but those shouldn’t be mentioned on the petition.
