New York City witnessed 15 shootings in 15-hours on Saturday as violence continues to surge in the Big Apple. On July 1, Mayor Bill de Blasio and the city council passed a budget, which included $1 billion cuts from the NYPD. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn't blame the cuts. Instead, she blamed unemployment "because struggling residents are forced to shoplift in order to 'feed their children.'"

Police spoke with Boston firefighters, who said that an unknown suspect had set fire to plastic flowers, which were in the hands of the statue, causing the face and upper body of the statue to be burned.

Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon went missing on Thursday before they found his body on a mountain. Police found a suicide note:

"I send my apologies to everyone. I thank everyone who shared my life. I am so sorry to my family to whom I only gave pain," read the apparent suicide note left on the desk of his official residence and released by the city government with the permission of his family.

Unemployment Claims Decrease Again: 1.3 Million Filed Last Week, Continuing Claims Drop by 698,000

The Labor Department's unemployment report shows the unemployment filing numbers continue to decrease as the economy starts to pick up after the coronavirus shutdown. 1.3 million Americans filed last week, which is down by 99,000 from the previous week. The continuing claims fall to 18.06 million, which is a drop of 698,000.
