“If its free, its for me!”
“Vote for me and I will steal from he, to give to thee”
Both are staples of the Democratic Party’s political appeal to the masses. What else can they use to convince people to vote for them? Fifty two per cent of Dems still don’t know the earth revolves around the sun, 82 per cent of NYC high school grads can’t read or write upon graduation. The minute America strayed from Thomas Jefferson’s concept of the ideal American citizen, the farmer who read Homer in the original Greek at night, we began our descent into our state of chaos and confusion. Anyone remember Rachel Jeantell? She likely has since graduated and gained the right to vote, joining the ranks of those 175,000 registered voters of Florida’s St Lucie county who cast 250,000 ballots against Col Allen West.

OK, I’ve made this observation before, and I know it is edgy, but…

Why, in modern America, would a person CHOOSE to identify as black if they had the choice? See Carry, Mariah.

See, that certainly suggests that there is a positive ADVANTAGE to black identity in America today. See also Obama, Barackah.

I will take the ML King road, thank you all very much. I was done with any impulse toward white guilt back in junior high. And I expect people to be just people, regardless of…(fill in the blank). And won’t excuse them for…(fill in the blank).

2Ray is an idiot, and a race-obsessed Collectivist puke.

Susan Rice might be a better example. Before they claimed that opposition to her appointment was Racist, I had no idea that the white girl was Black.

Captain Keogh in reply to Ragspierre. | May 25, 2014 at 12:50 pm

Me too. I was a Junior High School classmate of Al Sharpton (in Brooklyn, NY) my senior year (1967 -68) and I and other white kids were shaken down and terrorized several times a week by Black kids. My white guilt died after that.

Okay, I’ll go along with this reparations business, but with one condition. Those claiming status as having been actually enslaved must present his/her claim in person.

genes in reply to pfg. | May 25, 2014 at 11:01 am

And prove they weren’t enslaved by, or owned by, a person of Color.

mzk in reply to pfg. | May 25, 2014 at 2:27 pm

Since Black Africans sold people into slavery who are now our citizens, shouldn’t Africa be paying us reparations?

MarkS in reply to pfg. | May 25, 2014 at 4:24 pm

Texas Congressperson Shelia Jackson Lee would no doubt be the first in your reparation line as she has publicly affirmed her status as a freed slave!

genes in reply to MarkS. | May 25, 2014 at 7:08 pm

That would explain her mental state as she’d have to be at least 149. Must say she doesn’t look a day over 120.

He embarks on yet another Touré de Farce.

Surely it’s not all skin color. I don’t keep the info in front of me because it’s not my obsession, but quite often dark-skinned immigrants from far-flung countries go further than most home-grown African-Americans. If you want to blame slavery, great. Though, I’m sure non-blacks have been enslaved in places too. (That doesn’t make it a good thing, either.) Comparisons might not work out so well.

Juba Doobai! | May 25, 2014 at 11:11 am

Since surviving the concentration camps, emigrating, and making a success of life, though starting with nothing, is white privilege what does Touré have to say about Booker T. Washington?

Ragspierre in reply to Juba Doobai!. | May 25, 2014 at 11:25 am

    Fredrick Douglas

    George W. Carver

    Bass Reeves

And thousands of others, never noted in history (like all the rest of us) who lived fine, productive, honorable lives, often wearing the uniforms of our armed services.

And who do, today, just live as American citizens, grateful for the privilege (and it knows no color).

MarkS in reply to Juba Doobai!. | May 25, 2014 at 4:26 pm

    …and Dr. Ben Carson!

How long can you play the same note and attract an audience?

This is one of the most despicable things I’ve seen in a long, long time.

Air time for an airhead! If that guy ever had an original thought in his brain it would explode.

Toure should explain Colin Powell, whose family came here with nothing and their son rose to the height of power. Or Barack Obama, whose upbringing is so maculate that it is not completely certain he was not an immigrant himself.

I don’t watch live television, so I honestly have no clue who this punk is, aside from the occasional blog post here and there.

FWIW, here’s part of his Wikipedia entry. I know, I know, Wikipedia isn’t a serious source, but we’re not dealing with a serious person, so it’ll do. It’s appears stupid runs deep in the racist punk.

While a student at Emory University, Touré founded the school’s black student newspaper, The Fire This Time, which has been criticized for being militantly anti-white. The Daily Caller took issue with the fact that the publication only solicited donations from blacks, and that its articles praised noted anti-Semites, black supremacists, and conspiracy theorists such as H. Rap Brown and Frances Cress Welsing, whom Touré invited to Emory’s campus. The Caller also criticized Touré’s use of a hoaxed hate crime at Emory as a rationale for a list of demands against the university, even after the crime’s ostensible target, Sabrina Collins, admitted that her accusations were a hoax of her creation.

It appears that he is following the career playbook of the master-race-baiter Al Sharpton. Unlike Sharpton, at least this scumbag hasn’t gotten anyone murdered with his rhetoric (yet).

Brother Owl, he was around so he naturally took charge and went to asking folks, “Who kilt Cock Robin?” Not expecting to git much of a answer.

“I kilt Cock Robin,” Bull Sparrow says, pushing up front in de crowd. “Who is it wants to know?” He had his gun wide open in his hand.

“Not dat we cares, Brother Sparrow,” Brother Owl sort of simmerized. “Us just asked for a little information to find out how come.”

LukeHandCool | May 25, 2014 at 12:17 pm

Toure de Farce owes reparations to all faux French intellectuals he’s embarrassed with his anti-Semitism. I’d call him a douche, but he’d like that cuz it sounds French. He’s not an intellectual poser, he’s an intellectual poseur.

Judging from the smug, puckered up look on his face half the time, I suspect he might be fond of the vinegar flavor as well.

Collective and inherited sin are illegitimate doctrines of a degenerate religion. As for reparations, two words: Great Society. It could have worked, but the Democrats, represented by people like Coates and Toure, are fundamentally corrupt.

Democrats, including Coates and Toure, need to recognize individual dignity and intrinsic value. Their positions create moral hazards, which they are either unwilling or incapable of reconciling.

Make life, not abortion/murder.

TrooperJohnSmith | May 25, 2014 at 1:08 pm

So, of every dollar of Reparations, how much of it will end up in the hands of the Colombian and Mexican drug cartels?

Maybe we can get a GAO or CBO study of that.

It is high time to stop compulsory education. What parents don’t want their children educated? Compulsory education is the state telling parents what to do with their children for the good of the state.

Socialist have taken over academia in this country. In the late 1800s Bismarck had the socialist thrown out of what was becoming Germany and many came to America and settled into academia. John Dewey had socialist leanings. Horace Mann gave us the Common School after visiting Prussia during summer vacation. Now our children are being indoctrinated on a wide variety of issues and children of parents who don’t give a shit are wasting their time and others time taking up space. (and breathing the oxygen in the room.) The money we have pored into schools in the last few decades haven’t improved over all achievement or the achievement in low-performing schools.

Let us decriminalize school truancy.

Many of my 10th graders this last year firmly believe their is anthropogenic global warming. Their teachers told them so.

Why is this “Touré” person famous? I’ve never seen anything but doctrinaire leftism come from him. I’ve never heard of any great accomplishments of his.

So why all the attention paid to him? Is it because he’s an effective troll?

I actually read Ta-Nehisi Coates piece and I want to point out something: he’s not explicitly calling for reparations but writing on support of a congressional commission to study not only slavery, but segregation, redlining and a number of discriminatory practices that affected
African Americans. It is actually well written and lacking any of the usual talking points leftist use; given that much of the damage inflicted on blacks was at the hands of democratic politicians and the big-government institutions that they support, I’m really wondering if they are honestly willing to study this seriously and assign the blame where it really belongs.

Ragspierre in reply to Ulises. | May 26, 2014 at 10:38 am

“…I’m really wondering if they are honestly willing to study this seriously and assign the blame where it really belongs.”

    Surely you jest…!!!

Not only NO, but HELL NO.

All my little gray cells (all of us have the same colored brain) tell me that Coates is trying to be cute with his piece, and that…sure as there are carts to horses…any such commission would be the precursor to a call for reparations.

You can see that plainly from his supporter’s emphasis, I think.

I do not take issue with Coates historical narrative. What he writes about is documented and accurate (and morally wrong).

    pst314 in reply to Ulises. | May 27, 2014 at 9:55 am

Surely you know that such a congressional commission is only a prelude to calls for government action. Any claim that it is merely fact-finding is laughably false. And besides, who needs another “investigation”? The facts are there. Any “fact-finding” is merely an attempt to soften up opposition to future “redistribution” of wealth.

For another example of this sort of BS, did you notice the USDA’s “food desert” maps? Not only are the maps grossly dishonest, they are obviously a first step in a new ploy to increase the size and power of government agencies.

I wrote this a couple years ago:

Touré Neblett was raised in the predominately white community of Randolph, Massachusetts. He attended the prestigious Milton Academy, a mostly-white private prep school. After graduating from Milton, Touré went to college:

When he went to Emory University in Atlanta, Touré made fast friends with the white students in his dorm. Then he read “The Autobiography of Malcolm X,” switched his major to African American studies, started a black nationalist student newspaper, brought the incendiary rapper Chuck D to campus and, eventually, moved into the Black Student Association’s private house.

Touré Neblett dropped out of Emory University in 1992 to become an intern at Rolling Stone. Since then he has written books and short stories you never read, articles you never heard of, hosted cable shows you never watched, and now seems to be trying to establish himself as the Senior Black Correspondent at MSNBC.
