In the coming fights over the next budget, unemployment benefits and payroll tax cuts, I want Obama to show the Republican Party in general and the Tea Party in particular that he isn’t afraid to out-crazy the crazies. If that means vetoing bills, taking the fight to individual districts, shutting down the government, so be it.
The thing is, I really don’t appreciate Capehart referring to Harry Reid and the other Democrats who have brought almost all legislation to a standstill as “crazies.” I may disagree with him, but he is “my Majority Leader,” after all.
And why would Obama want to “outcrazy” his fellow Democrats just to impress Republicans and the Tea Party?

It makes sense to Capehart because he believes the public is behind him.
This recent Democrat hysteria is just like the Wisconsin hysteria. They ran around chanting “this is what democracy looks like” not because they were hypocrites, but because they genuinely believed Walker had “fooled” the people with his campaign. However, the public actually backs them now that Walker has revealed his nefarious intentions they’ll be saved by the Wi Supreme Court elect— er, the recall elections.
Same thing with Capehart and the rest of them on the national stage. They believe “Faux” news and the like fooled a small percentage of the voters, but that the mass of the public actually backs the Democrats. Hence, if Obama tosses the gauntlet down that mass of people will rally behind them.
The Democrats aren’t asking why they lost, because they think they unfairly lost because of tricks by the other side. Expose those tricks and all will be well. As long as they believe that they’ll continue to spout nonsense and spin their wheels.

OT: I personally found it heartwarming the way Wall St. celebrated the President’s 50th birthday with a 512 point crash. More than 10 points per year, isn’t that special? Who could forget a birthday like that?

You want crazy…look at the FAA deal. Republican House sends Dem FAA, Senate, WH a bill. They spend weeks fighting themselves alone in the dark in an empty parking lot and today they announce if they had read the bill, they would have moved on all along. Are they sheepishly standing there with egg on their faces, oh, our mistake sorry. We had ability to move on with waiver all along.
No there out there blaming the Repub because they themselves did not read the bill before they went all drama queen. You cannot make this stuff up.

I don’t see how that wasn’t racist. I digress. Mainly what Obama is is weak and clueless. I imagine Putin and others are looking at this and wondering what the help is wrong with us. They must wonder how far they can push Obama before sensible heads step in a remove him. They must know if they are patient Obama will do their work for them, but some of them may not be patient.
As bad as he is, John McCain has shown himself to be a RINO. For those who don’t know, Mordor is in Middle Earth, and so one can not defeat Mordor and then ‘return to Middle Earth’. Further, Mordor was the land occupied by the Dark Lord, Sauron. Frodo destroyed the Ring which destroyed his power, but somebody else had to actually kill Sauron. Don’t these people learn anything in school anymore?

Obama’s last pathetic attempt at submitting a budget plan was defeated 97-0, and in the one house of congress that is controlled by his own party. Some fight that was!

And, speaking of getting your “crazy up” here is Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) who we also know as the frequently crazy-sounding Chairwoman of the DNC, telling the folks at MSNBC what a heck of a great job the Democrats have done at “continuing to get this economy turned around.”

Somehow, I wish I could say it was difficult as well. But for the most part, these clowns are waaaaay too easy when it comes to pointing out inconsistencies!
They just bleat and blurt at one another, apparently with the narrow purpose of simply filling the mind void for whomever happens to be tuned in to them at the moment, not caring a whit whether there is any truth whatsoever to what they say, or any measure of consistency to how they seem to approach the governing thingy.
I said “apparently” above because I really cannot think of any other reason they might have for publicly engaging one another in such a manner.
Lets face it . . . why would any serious person go on a show that has Al Sharpton as the host, and purport to talk with him about serious matters of public policy? Why would any serious person watch that show, other than by accident?
To me, the only difficult thing about what they do is keeping a straight face. You have to marvel at the fact that there really are people who are so craven that they would participate in such nonsense.
The dims are giving out conflicting lies is because they forget what lie they told last. And if they can’t keep up with their own lies, how could they possibly be expected to keep up with the lies of other members of their cabal. Dims are panicking and still believe that a lie told enough times becomes the truth,ergo, lies like the dims are not in truble becomes the new truth.

Many, many moons ago, I taught fourth grade in Newark, NJ which I consider one of the most enlightening and rewarding periods of my life.
One of my favorite students of the time was an intelligent and pretty young lady . . . let’s call her Beverly. She did not suffer fools gladly, nor did she take any guff from anyone without a quick and sharp response.
As though it were yesterday, I can still see young Beverly one fine day coming up to speak to me at the front of the classroom, arms folded, and with a very determined look on her face, having apparently just been subjected to some undefined verbal indignity whispered at her by one or more of her classmates in the back of the room.
She looked back at them, pointed in their direction and after formally addressing me by name, announced loudly enough for the “offenders” to hear her as well:
“You better tell them to get their lies straight!”
Perfect!
Given their immediate denials and counterclaims, I’m sure young Beverly never ended up getting the satisfaction from that immediate bone of contention that she no doubt richly deserved. Still, I must say that I have always cherished the inherent wisdom and accuracy of that expression of hers.
She captured the moment beautifully . . . “even for an eggshell.”
