Iran Ceasefire Teeters as IRGC Fires Missiles and Drones at Kuwait

Iran Ceasefire Teeters as IRGC Fires Missiles and Drones at Kuwait

CENTCOM: “This egregious ceasefire violation by the Iranian regime occurred hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz.”

As the Trump administration remains engaged in talks aimed at finalizing a deal with Tehran, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a wave of missile and drone strikes against Kuwait.

Kuwait’s air defense systems intercepted most of the projectiles, including a ballistic missile, the U.S. Military confirmed. “Kuwait’s army said on Thursday that its air defences were intercepting hostile missile and drone threats, but did ‌not say where they were coming from,” Reuters reported. “The army said any sounds of explosions heard in the country were the result of air-defence systems intercepting the threats, and urged people to follow security and safety instructions issued by authorities.”

The Iranian attack comes amid repeated attempts by the IRGC to threaten U.S. forces operating in and around the Strait of Hormuz, threatening the seven-week-old ceasefire. “The fresh fighting appeared to begin on Thursday when Iranian forces fired at four ships attempting to cross the strait, state broadcaster IRIB reported,” The Telegraph (UK) reported. “The clashes, the most serious since an April ceasefire began, throw into question talks aimed at ending the war that began on February 28.”

The U.S. Central Command described the Iranian attack on a neighbouring Arab state as “egregious ceasefire violation, and vowed to defend American “forces and interests from unjustified Iranian aggression.” The CENTCOM noted that the IRGC attack “occurred hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz.”

On Monday, the U.S. military destroyed Iranian naval boats attempting to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Missile launch sites along Iran’s southern coast were also targeted.

The IRGC admitted it launched the strikes on Kuwait, claiming it was targeting a U.S. airbase. “Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard via the state-run IRNA news agency acknowledged the attack around Bandar Abbas International Airport and said it launched its own retaliatory attack on the air base that launched the assault,” the Associated Press reported.

Iran is escalating the conflict as President Donald Trump suggested that the U.S. was prepared to resume the military operation if the regime refuses to accept his proposal. “They’re negotiating on fumes,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “Maybe we have to go back and finish it, maybe we don’t.”

I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you that the Iranian government has violated the ceasefire negotiated by Trump. No, not really. The IRGC played Trump like the chump he is and now we’re right back to square one. Hope this time around Trump realizes that Iran isn’t serious about negotiating any peace deal and takes appropriate action against Iran. But I doubt it. A serious shooting war with Iran is the last thing the Trump administration wants during the run-up to the Nov. 2026 midterm elections. But here we are and there you go. We’ll see what happens next.

Played him like a chump by having their military and economy decimated? I have noted below how monstrously stupid the Iranians are. I now include some commenters here in that general description.

It is pointless to apply western concepts of loss and what should be futility to an Apocalyptic Shia regime such as that which rules Iran. This brand of Shia has no interest or tradition of thinking that way. They believe in a mass conflagration with their enemies which Shia wins no matter the cost. Then their hidden prophet will appear and their brand of Islam will rule the world.

Oh and look, the Trump brown-noser makes their appearance. At least I’ll give you credit for making a comment and not just downvoting me anonymously.

Played Trump like a chump and pretended to agree to a “ceasefire” until they decided not to do so. Played like a chump. Just like Biden was played like a chump. And Obama before him. All chumps thinking you can negotiate with a bunch of religiously motivated zealots for a positive outcome. Trump would have been better off if he would have stuck to his original, “Unconditional surrender or we completely decimate your country.” statement that he made at the beginning of this mess. He wouldn’t be any worse off if he had. But again, the Nov. 2026 US midterms are fast approaching and his hands are tied on any decisive actions against Iran. The democrats would just love that. But there you go and here we are. We’ll all see what happens next.

Did you even read the article? For a “decimated military” the IRGC seems quite able to fire missiles and drones at our alleged allies. So what’s up with that. Seems that aren’t as “decimated” as you and others would hope. And as for the economy? The only people suffering under the collapsed Iranian economy is the ordinary Iranian citizen. You can bet your last dollar that the IRGC and Iranian leadership (whomever they may be at this point) have enough supplies to last well past the 2026 Nov. US midterms where they hope the democrats can regain control of Congress and put an end to Trump’s Iran war.

Didn’t say the stupidly insane Iranians had no missiles or drones left sport. But anyone other than a monstrously stupid commenter would recognize that their military infrastructure and economy have been shattered. But the last dollar comment is interesting. I wonder if they can last until their oil wells are permanently damaged and their economy is flushed down the drain? Only a potentially be multi trillion dollar loss over a decade. I guess some IRGC will have to save a bit more supplies for the long haul.

LoL. And now you’re admitting that Trump has failed to do just about anything he’s promised to do. Trump demanded unconditional surrender or he’d decimate Iran but in the end all we get is talk, talk, talk while the 2026 US midterm elections loom closer and closer. So when it Trump going to get that unconditional surrender. When is the Islamic theocracy going to be removed and replaced. When is any of it going to happen or are we just getting into yet another “Forever War” that the United States can’t win.

Does it look like their army/missile system has been decimated? Is the Strait open? Face reality not fantasy. This is a very serious mess and Trump will have to make a tough decision soon.

Yeah it does. Not exactlly a “devastating” attack by any measure. Nor more effective than their failed attempts to target the US Navy in Hormuz. You didn’t really think that response out did you my friend?

They have a lot of missiles buried in tunnels at the moment. They are trying to dig them out. I also assume some of their manufacturing capability is underground.

I guess you know what you know. I assume one probably needs fuel, and infrastructure, and funds to initiate any major rebuild or even to make proper use of what, if anything, is left. Did they bury the fuel, money and infrastructure too? .

You may wish to look up the definition of “decimated”. The classical one, not the colloquial gibberish.

Iran has no Navy larger than a Florida speedboat. The only military aircraft they own are the ones they’re afraid to fly. Their missile and UAV capability are all they have left to project power and that’s a slim threat at best.

The term “banzai charge” or “banzai attack” “pointless missile attack is used to describe the mass infantry assaults of the Japanese Army IRGC during the Second World 2026 Iran War. This tactic was is often employed in situations where the battle was virtually lost and was is regarded as a final attempt to disrupt or temporarily repel the enemy. The attacks symbolize the close interweaving of military strategy, propaganda, and the Japanese culture of honor and sacrifice. the Iranian culture of treachery and indifference to the deaths of their people if there’s a chance to splatter some blood around.

They don’t care if they live or die. How are you supposed to deal with people like that?

Somehow, the populace In Iran needs to be armed so that they can take control of their country. They can’t fight them now because the regime has all the arms and the populace has nothing.

This makes for an excellent argument for maintaining the second amendment. We already have wacko muslims in this country who think the same way the Iranian regime does. Some, high ranking government officials.

    Keep you powder dry.

Yeah this was my thought from just the title of the article alone. Why attack a neighbor and widen a conflict. There is little reason for them to attack Kuwait besides that whole Shia/Sunni thing. Their best bet would be to lie low during this stupid and unnecessary “cease fire” and reconstitute their revolutionary guard, weapons systems, and control over the population

ffff the left

ONCE AGAIN…its one thing to write a piece on the military might want to move against cuba etc

BUT TO ,,ONCE AGAIN,,, talk about troop strength and positioning of the military is borderline FCK TEASON!!!!

The armada in the region is slightly smaller than it was in January when the U.S. captured Maduro. But the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier strike group entered the Caribbean in May, along with several guided missile destroyers and cruisers that can launch precision missiles at targets onshore. An array of advanced American drones and surveillance aircraft have also circled Cuba for months, according to flight tracking sites. The USS Kearsarge amphibious ships and escorts, which carry 2,500 Marines, are off the coast of Virginia preparing for a new deployment, and could replace some ships heading home.

We COULD capture Cuba as easily as we did Panama in 1989.

However I hope we don’t. I don’t believe that it’s in America’s interest to occupy Cuba. As I’ve said previously, we already have one Puerto Rico, we don’t need two, See: Germany’s difficulty in absorbing East Germany back into a capitalist society.

And one more time: The U.S. doesn’t need to be the World’s Sugar Daddy. Isn’t this situation exactly the reason that the U.N. exists? I would much prefer that the U.N offer aid and rebuilding assistance in return for the complete resignation of the government followed by elections of their own government – elections supervised by the U.N.

The UN would put the communists back in charge. Furthermore any aid would just be our repackaged contributions with some amount of that grifted off the top for their “expenses”. The UN is worse than useless and at this point they are a menace.

This strikes me as Iran attempting to do what Hamas has been doing for decades (and to a limited extent, Ukraine/Russia). Just before you go into negotiations for a peace agreement, you strike hard in an attempt to make gains and improve your bargaining position. Part of your opening gambit is that you will concede all of the recent gains that you made. This is to help keep you from having to concede other valuable items of contention.

I wouldn’t read too much into this. It’s just another miscalculation.

From reading the comments it appears to me that most of the commenters don’t understand where Iran is coming from. They don’t care about peace or their people, they only want power even if it is from caves and tunnels. There is no way to negotiate with them. They view this life as stepping stone to a better one and do not fear death as we do. I can only hope that Trump has a plan because they will never agree to give up what they have been building for 20 years. Is there a good way out of this short of invasion, I hope so!

Trump needs to carry on and get it over with. Stop the ceasefire/negotiation pick up sticks game and just do it. The BS is getting stale.

The irgc and the mullahs are hard core, can’t wait for my 72 virgins death cult. They e been planning for this day for the last 47 years. They want President Trump to unleash hell fire on the them. It’s the only way to see their version of the apocalypse come true. The President has lined up most of the Arab world against the Iranians. That’s why they lash out in a spasmodic way. Just like the nazis at the end of WWII the irgc, basji and the mullahs know what will happen to them if the population rises up. The civilians will not rise up until the Army backs them up. The President is letting it play out to our benefit. As painful as high gas/diesel prices are, a nuclear armed Iran would be even more painful. Because if they get a nuclear weapon they will use it. It’s not about prestige, it’s about igniting the apocalypse.

Agreement on a 60 day ceasefire is almost done. It’s a ceasefire. It does not include anything about nuclear weapons which is to be discussed during the 60 days.

Meanwhile there is this:

“Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security committee, wrote in an X post that Iran’s red lines include the country’s right to enrich uranium, maintain stockpiles of enriched uranium and control the Strait of Hormuz and the removal of sanctions.”

What the hell are we doing? Seriously. Either sh*t or get off the pot. This isn’t a win. It’s essentially a tie which is meaningless. It will probably tie Israel’s hands too.
