New suspects charged in Lincoln University shooting investigation
Four people now face charges in connection to the fatal October 2025 shooting at Lincoln University, which left one person dead and six others wounded.
Karon Rollins, William Sells and Makaveli Valera face dozens of charges, including second-degree and third-degree murder.
A fourth suspect who was initially charged with a firearms charge — Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson — now also faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possession of an instrument with a crime.
Chester County District Attorney Chris de Barrena-Sarobe made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday in West Chester.
According to de Barrena-Sarobe, the three suspects charged with murder conspired together to commit robberies. In the course of those robberies, one person was killed and six others were struck by gunfire.
Timeline of events
According to officials, the shooting occurred shortly around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 — during the school’s Homecoming celebrations — outside the International Cultural Center, a building on campus that was packed with students celebrating their football team and their alumni.
Oxford Borough Police told FOX43 in October that nine people were injured during the incident, seven of which sustained gunshot wounds and two that suffered other medical conditions.
The District Attorney added that of the six wounded victims, one was a current Lincoln University student, and another was an alumnus. The other four victims were not directly affiliated with the university, the District Attorney said at the time.
“Just before 9:30, that festivity was interrupted and decimated by gun fire. It was a chaotic scene, and people fled in every direction,” de Barrena-Sarobe said at a press conference on Oct. 26.
In the days following the shooting, de Barrena-Sarobe said that investigators were operating as if there were multiple shooters.
“We don’t have a lot of answers about exactly what happened,” he said at an Oct. 26 briefing. “What I will tell you is that today we’re operating as if this is not an incident where someone came in with the design to inflict mass damage on a college campus.”
At the press conference, de Barrena-Sarobe identified the victim who died as 20-year-old Jujuan Jeffers of Wilmington, Delaware.
