Jewish Man Attacked Outside Synagogue in Los Angeles by Assailant Who Yelled ‘Free Palestine’
“I never would have thought such an incident would happen to me.”
A Jewish man leaving a synagogue in Los Angeles was ambushed, physically attacked, and brutalized in the latest example of antisemitism, which has become disgustingly common.
The attack is being investigated as a hate crime, which seems appropriate, given that the victim wore traditional Jewish garb and the attacker yelled ‘Free Palestine.’

‘Thought it was end of my life,’ says Jewish man attacked near Los Angeles synagogue
A 32-year-old Jewish man, who was attacked on Monday evening near left Adas Torah, an Orthodox synagogue in Los Angeles, told JNS that his life flashed before his eyes.
“I don’t know if he said the words, ‘I want to kill you,’ but his facial expression and his attitude definitely gave that message,” said the victim, who spoke to JNS on the condition that he not be named. “I thought it was the end of my life.”
The victim, who said he is a Judaic studies teacher and “just a regular person,” told JNS that “I never would have thought such an incident would happen to me.”
After studying at Merkaz Hatorah Community Kollel, around the corner from the synagogue, on Monday evening, he walked home through an alleyway, as he has done for the past five years, and noticed a blue minivan following slowly beside him. He said he was wearing a kippah at the time.
He made a “Hey, how are you” facial expression toward the driver, whom he described as a black man. The driver made the same expression in response, the victim told JNS.
“All of a sudden, he just opens the door,” he said. “I don’t know what he was saying. He pounced me, immediately put his hands over my neck, shaking me back and forth, trying to choke me.”
The man used “a window breaker or window chiseler, I don’t know what you call it” as “a weapon as he was choking me against my neck,” the victim told JNS.

You don’t hear many Democrats decrying these types of attacks now that ‘Free Palestine’ has become a common phrase among their supporters.

There is no Palestine. There has never been a Palestine.
There was, but it was up in northern Syria. There was a weird little kingdom as the Bronze Age Collapse was shaking out that was apparently settled by Peleset Sea Peoples — it was apparently a fusion of the Peleset and existing cultures, but the rulers took Hittite names.

In any event the area referred to today as Palestine was named that by the Romans in their never ending attempts to sever Jews from their identity. It failed like all previous attempts. It was also referred to as Palestine by the British who took over administration of the area but I don’t know if the previous owners, the Ottoman empire, called it that, Regardless any reference to Palestinians referenced the Jews.
The people calling themselves Palestinians today are mainly arabs settler/colonizer/invaders who mostly moved in during the 19th century. While the Jews moving in bought their land I don’t know what they did. They should be and I think used to be referenced as Syrians. However in the later 1960s the Egyptian born Arafat adopted the orphaned term Palestine for his organization at the suggestion of the KGB and the rest is history.
It is clear they don’t know their own history, or care for that matter. It is definitely the case that jew hating progressives neither know the history or care. They are a vapid lot after all.
They didn’t. Under the Ottomans it was part of Syria, and when the British took over the local Arabs insisted for some time that they were Syrians and not “Palestinians”, because acknowledging that name would mean recognizing the British establishment of “Palestine” as a separate entity.
Mostly those people didn’t have any land; they were tenants, renting their farms from owners who lived in Syria. The Jews who started returning home in the 1880s would approach these landlords and buy the land, and then evict the tenants so they could farm it themselves.
The landlords who sold the land, particularly the wealthy Husseini family to which Arafat belonged, encouraged their former tenants to rise up and kill the Jews, planning that once the buyers were dead they would take the land back, restore the tenants and keep charging them rent, and keep the money the Jews paid them.
I don’t know about any kingdom in Northern Syria, but the people the Bible calls “Pelishtim” were in what’s now called the Gaza Strip and the area immediately to its north.

You are correct, sir. There has never been a nation called palestine, and there has never been a people called palestinians.
The word is simply a modern day political fiction to propagandize the world into support of war against Israel (along with intifada, river-to-sea, etc.)
There is Gaza, and the mongel Arabs which inhabit the place; mongrel Arabs which no other Arab nation wants inside their borders. (I wonder why?)
There was once a nation called “Pelishtim”, or “Peleshet”, roughly where the Gaza Strip is now. But they were not Arabs; they spoke a language related to Greek.

As a gentile who grew up near this area, which is heavily Jewish, it sickens me to see reports like this.
At the same time, I really think more Jewish people need to learn to fight back rather than just be victims. Take self-defense classes and exercise your 2nd Amendment rights within the law to protect yourselves.
Or, in places like the PDR of California, without the law.
The attacker couldn’t possibly be a muslim could he? One of those members of the ‘religion of peace’?
