Report: House Dems Already Pushing for Day One Impeachment of Trump

“We need to have a very concrete, coordinated strategy.” House Democrats “should build up the case so that when we are in power in January, we’ve created the conditions … to be able to impeach [Trump].”

Confident they will regain control of the House of Representatives in November, some Democratic lawmakers have already begun laying the groundwork for a third impeachment of President Donald Trump, according to a Friday report from Axios —with some pushing for proceedings to begin on “Day One.”

Rabid anti-Trumper Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) told Axios, “We need to have a very concrete, coordinated strategy.” House Democrats “should build up the case so that when we are in power in January, we’ve created the conditions … we’ve done the fact-checking, we’ve done the shadow hearings, everything we need to be able to to impeach [Trump].”

Ramirez believes that “starting this work in January is too late.”

Not only should Democrats pursue impeachment against Trump, Ramirez argued that the party should “continue to pursue the impeachment and conviction” of both former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former Attorney General Pam Bondi “because these people should never be in public office again.”

“We’re going to have to do that work now,” she said.

Just a reminder about Ramirez: Born in Chicago to illegal immigrant parents, the fanatically progressive congresswoman stands as a testament to the American Dream. Yet instead of showing gratitude to the nation that gave an anchor baby the chance to rise to Congress, she seizes every opportunity to disparage America and condemn its laws.

Ramirez made national headlines last summer. Speaking in Spanish at the second annual Panamerican Congress in Mexico City, she declared, “I’m a proud Guatemalan before I’m an American” — a stunning remark that drew wild applause from the progressive crowd. She went on to accuse the U.S. of prioritizing “imperialism, militarization, conquest, control, competition in its attempt at domination.”

The equally progressive Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) told Axios that if Democrats win back the House, “the push for impeachment is going to be overwhelming.”

Axios cited a dubious new survey from an unfamiliar pollster, Strength In Numbers/Verasight, that found a whopping 55% of U.S. adults believe Trump should be impeached while only 37% do not. Those results sound very unlikely indeed.

In an article that accompanied the poll, G. Elliott Morris noted, “That net +18 verdict puts Trump in the neighborhood of the numbers Richard Nixon saw at the peak of the Watergate scandal in August 1974.”

Morris pointed out that following Trump’s recent warning to the Iranian regime that “a whole civilization will die tonight,” Axios reported that “more than 85 House and Senate Democrats called for Trump to be impeached or removed via the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.”

Say what you will about the president’s rhetoric, but he caught the Iranians’ attention. It sure was a lot more effective than Joe Biden’s message of “Don’t, don’t,” or Barack Obama’s decision to send a plane load of cash to regime leaders.

Axios reported that after Trump’s decisive victory in 2024, most Democrats opposed the idea of impeachment. Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) said, “People ridiculed me” when he introduced articles of impeachment last year. When Rep. Al Green (D-TX) “forced a vote on impeaching Trump last June, 128 Democrats voted with Republicans to quash the effort, while just 78 voted to advance it.”

Apparently, sentiment has changed — “drastically.” When Green forced a second vote in December, 140 House Democrats supported the measure.

Thanedar said, “We have a case — a very strong case — so we should really work on it now.”

According to Axios, “Just because a member supports impeachment when asked — or when forced to go on the record in a House vote — doesn’t mean they think it should be a policy priority for their party.

Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL) told Axios, Trump has “done something in this Congress that justifies the conversation, but we’ve already seen twice unless you’re going to get a two-thirds majority in the Senate … the president will not be removed from office.”

Schneider said he plans to “work on strengthening American security, making lives better for the American people and moving the country forward.”

Another House Democrat, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “There are things that we can win, and impeachment is not one of them — now or, unfortunately, at any point during this presidency.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) posted an urgent message to supporters on social media last week which began, “Because this is so grave of a situation, Democrats must do “whatever it takes to remove Trump from office.” That includes impeachment, the 25th Amendment, and demanding his resignation.

And the Democrats have already begun. Citing national security concerns related to the president’s recent rhetoric on the war in Iran, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) recently introduced legislation to form a 17-member commission to evaluate President Donald Trump’s fitness for office, with an eye toward invoking the 25th Amendment. The measure was co-sponsored by 50 of his colleagues.

Have they forgotten that the 25th Amendment can only be invoked by the vice president and must be backed by a majority of the cabinet?

Trump Derangement Syndrome is a progressive disease (no pun intended).

A progressive disease is a condition that worsens over time, typically involving a gradual decline in function, health, or structure. Symptoms may start mild but become more severe as the disease advances, and in many cases the damage is not fully reversible.

While some cases are worse than others, most Democrats have been afflicted with this disorder for the past decade. Some, like Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY), and clearly Ramirez, have reached the end-stages of the disease. This presents as a wholesale abdication of the responsibilities they were elected to perform — representing their constituents in Congress — replaced by an all-consuming effort to remove the object of their obsession from office.

They simply can’t help themselves.

” we need to do whatever it takes to remove Trump from office”

This sounds an awful lot like both a threat and a call to violence, which of course it is. Someday these people will take it a step too far.

Democrats talking awfully communist lately. Clearly they don’t like losing elections.

How do you support a party or children? If your a liberal you need to rethink your life.

What are they going to impeach Trump for. For having a pen and a phone like the sainted Obama? For failing to wear his seatbelt in the presidential limo? Oh I know, For rage baiting them every chance he gets. Yeah, That is certainly an impeachable offense.

The communist/Islamofascist Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks are malignant, malevolent, lawless, stupid and evil clowns.

When democrats make threats, believe them.

They cannot get a conviction in the Senate, but since the process is the punishment, they don’t care.

I viscerally loathe these domestic enemies.

we’ve done the lie fabrication, we’ve done the shadow mock up hearings,
Fixed it for her.

They really want a American Civil War II, just no one wants to leap forward and put their neck on the line, it always Go On.

The National Socialists of our day. It will not stop at Trump.

Don’t they need an actual reason to impeach?? With every BS impeachment they make the word and the process look a little less meaningful. They are petty children. Nothing more..the sheer amount of fraud that has been uncovered in these blue states the last few years makes impeaching Trump sound outright psychotic.

Yes, they need a reason, but it only has to be a good one in their opinion, so that’s not really a barrier. The last two impeachments had “reasons” too, if you can call them that. The House is the only judge of that, and it considered them good enough.

Imagine how great the Democrats, the RINOs, the media, the judiciary, and the bureaucracy could make America if they worked with President Trump instead of fighting his every move. Every accomplishment he’s had so far has been in spite of them, not because of them.

But only side considers destruction of waste, fraud, and treason “accomplishments.”
The other side realizes its rice bowl is being smashed.

The last two ” Impeachments” were all made up BS and the next will be as well.
Probably killing Iranians ( allies with the Marxists, Or certainly Venezuela, something on throwing Illegals out of the country.

One of the people who wants to impeach President Trump is Delia Ramirez who got her citizenship by being born to illegal aliens from Guatemala. Speaking to an audience in Mexico City, she said, “I’m a proud Guatemalan before I’m an American.”

Subject to the jurisdiction thereof in the 14th Amendment means a person born in the U.S. is a citizen if they owe direct, full allegiance to the United States. But what if they openly and publicly confess they’re a Guatemalan before being an American?

“But what if they openly and publicly confess they’re a Guatemalan before being an American?”

I hear Pinochet Helicopter Tours has an extra seat. Perhaps she can get a ride.

Subject to the jurisdiction thereof in the 14th Amendment means a person born in the U.S. is a citizen if they owe direct, full allegiance to the United States.

All that means is that the USA can fully enforce its laws against that person.

But what if they openly and publicly confess they’re a Guatemalan before being an American?

Irrelevant. It has nothing to do with the person’s feelings. It’s exactly the same as “sovereign citizens” screaming their nonsense as they get dragged away in handcuffs.

ChrisPeters in reply to Milhouse. | April 26, 2026 at 7:01 pm

No. The US can enforce its laws against any person within its borders.

That is not the standard for the Fourteenth Amendment.

Milhouse in reply to ChrisPeters. | April 26, 2026 at 11:35 pm

Yes it is the standard. It’s the only standard, and this is absolutely clear and settled law. NOBODY honestly thinks otherwise; anyone claiming to do so is lying.

Milhouse in reply to ChrisPeters. | April 26, 2026 at 11:38 pm

NO, the US can NOT enforce its laws against anyone within its borders. It can’t enforce them against anyone with diplomatic immunity, or against members of invading armies, and until 1924 it could not enforce them against subjects of sovereign Indian nations. And that is the only thing meant by the “subject to their jurisdiction” clause.

Well, two people (assumedly NOT MAGA) tried to get at Trump at the WHCD tonight. One dead at least. Trump et al evacuated

I listened to the Fox news report. The shooter was caught but he showed no evidence of being shot. One secret service officer was hit by gunfire but his vest stopped the bullet. A very clear picture of the gunmen was shown with him handcuffed and laying face down on the floor. Law enforcement did a great job getting control and securing the area. There was no mention of a second shooter but more info will be known tomorrow. We do know the shooter was a male, in his 30’s, and it was reported he was from California. Secret service officer is OK and being treated at the hospital.

Jayapal: I have the power to homely Trump out of the presidency!

    henrybowman in reply to Spike3. | April 26, 2026 at 1:52 pm

Hey, be thankful for impeachment. It gives otherwise unemployable Democrats something to keep them occupied.

Tell me that surprises anyone

Looking at this person, with her hideously malformed face, my first impression is that she is seriously mentally retarded. Then she opens her mouth and I’m thinking ‘yup stupid dumb $ass Marxist c*nt’

Yeah, let Jayapal run the impeachment proceedings. It will be riveting to watch her pile it on with her shovel face.
