Pelosi Denies Democrats had Any Prior Knowledge of Allegations Against Swalwell

Pelosi Denies Democrats had Any Prior Knowledge of Allegations Against Swalwell

“it is absolutely not true.”

Now that Rep. Eric Swalwell has ended his bid for governor of California and plans to resign from Congress amid a scandal that seems to get worse by the day, people are starting to wonder who knew what and when.

Yesterday on C-SPAN, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked about this and naturally denied it.

From C-SPAN:

Host: Some Republicans and others say Democrats turned a blind eye and they knew what he was up to?

Pelosi: It is true, they may say that, but it is absolutely not true.

Watch the clip below:

You know what? I simply don’t believe her.

If you’ve spent any time on Twitter/X over the last few days, you have probably seen countless people saying that this was another one of those open secrets that everyone knew about but only discussed in hushed tones.

There are even some media reports that directly contradict Pelosi on this.

This report is from ABC 7 in California (emphasis is mine):

Criticism of Swalwell has circulated in Washington for years, according to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who spoke on ABC’s “This Week.”

“Every member in Congress knows not to let any young staffer around Swalwell or Matt Gaetz, it’s not a secret there,” McCarthy said.

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown said the allegations were not unexpected, citing longstanding talk among Democratic leaders.

“No, I’m not surprised frankly because there have been rumors after rumors after rumors, his colleague in Washington pretty much said that. That’s what Adam Schiff said, that’s what Nancy Pelosi said,” Brown said.

As far as the Democrats are concerned, it really looks like Swalwell’s behavior wasn’t an issue for them until they started to think it could cost them the governor’s race in California.

Democrats will fall in line now that Nanzi has spoken (lied). What she deemed “indefensible” today, was OK before, That’s the way things work in the Democrat mind.

Based on Luna’s interview with Jesse Waters, it may not be long for more information to break loose.

OK Sgt Schultz…. old sitcom’s used to be the answer the obvious.

heavy sigh, I even previewed… “answer to the obvious.”

If you elect me governor of California I will bring two things:

      1) an edit button to LI
      2) separate the uptick and downtick buttons a bit more
      3) make a tick, either up or down, revokable via a second click

When does Nancy, the insider traitor,
pay her dues? Or is she too powerful, like Hiilary.

No one is above the law.

BWAAHAAHAA!🤣

Liar.

She’s a liar.

You don’t become speaker of the house by being stupid. You become speaker of the house by being smart and ruthless. Pelosi is both in spades. There’s nothing that happened under that dome during her tenure that she did not know about. Nothing. And that includes Smalwell’s predilections. In fact, it’s how she kept him in line.

I’m just curious.

Yesterday Trump vs WSJ dismissed w/o prejudice discussion of malice.

BTW destroycommunism I liked your comment on NP blowing an elephant very timely.

Can “fake and knew or should have known” be applied?
Perhaps she has defamed the Democrat Party leadership.
(hold on, ROFLMAO)

We understand “certain people” will not be touched for outright lies, but how about defamation lawsuits? Maybe against DNC, MAGA…whatever.

Mr. LaChance: I second your statement: “I don’t believe her.”

A long time ago I worked for a member of Congress. There was a state rep nearby, same party, who was an absolutely disgusting lecher. We all heard stories years before it made news, I spoke to one victim, she was terrified and left her job, did not want to be the only one who fought this very powerful jerk, which at the time, it seemed like that’s how it would be. Eventually, it all caught up with him and he resigned in disgrace.

100% impossible for her not to know.

Where does this democrat rep get off acting like a democrat president?

destroycommunism | April 14, 2026 at 11:18 am

she speakith with fork tongue

Drunken old lying bat.

Lying bitch.

Nancy and the Dems knew. Congress has a tax payer slush fund for all members (House and Senate) doing bad things and to keep it quiet so their leaders have all the info on everyone.

This whole reason to shutdown Swalwell from running from Governor of California was that the two people leading in the primary are Republicans and the Dems figure that getting Swalwell out they can stand a chance to get a Dem in place of one of the two Republicans. Later they would win the Governorship. They will not lose Swalwell’s Congressional seat to a Republican.

Congress has a tax payer slush fund for all members (House and Senate) doing bad things and to keep it quiet

No, it doesn’t, and never has.

Like all large employers Congress has a fund for settling employee lawsuits. Any large employer will inevitably be sued by some employee, for something, often enough that such a fund is needed.

One of the hundreds of grounds on which an employee might conceivably sue an employer is sexual harassment. Which might be by anyone at the employer, not necessarily top management.

So yes, if one of Congress’s thousands of employees alleged sexual harassment by a congressman, and sued Congress for it, and Congress’s lawyers decided (as employers’ lawyers usually do) that it makes sense to settle, then the fund would be available for that. But the overwhelming majority of payouts from the fund would be for suits that have nothing to do with sex, or for sexual allegations that have nothing to do with a congressman.

In other words, you agree with JG.

Milhouse in reply to gibbie. | April 14, 2026 at 9:38 pm

No, I don’t. It’s not a slush fund, it’s not for members, and it’s not for sexual cases. It’s a reserve for all employee lawsuits, almost none of which involve congressmen, and few of which are for sexual harassment.

gibbie in reply to Milhouse. | April 16, 2026 at 11:13 am

Yes you do. Are they funds available to congressmen? Have they been used for sexual harassment?

          You’re good – when you’re not pettifogging.

      Obie1 in reply to Milhouse. | April 14, 2026 at 4:55 pm

“Like all large employers Congress has a fund for settling employee lawsuits.”

This is quite simply not true. Large corporations have budgets for legal expenses just as they have budgets for all other expenses. They don’t maintain a single dedicated lawsuit fund (which would be an inefficient use of funds). They use insurance, accounting reserves, and case-specific reserves in order to comply with financial reporting rules.

        Milhouse in reply to Obie1. | April 14, 2026 at 9:40 pm

That’s all this is too. Provision in the budget for settling the inevitable lawsuits any large employer always gets. When you have thousands of employees, lawsuits are inevitable. Just as there’s provision for self-insuring for health benefits.

They all knew. They were a-okay with Epstein until a year and a half ago.

They had no prior knowledge whatsoever. They just work really fast.
Why do we need a CIA? We have the DNC!

And Biden is as sharp as a tack, right, Witchypoo?

Sure you didn’t, Drunk Nancy. It was all a carefully concealed secret no one knew about. Next your going to tell us that no one knew all the Ukraine and Russia stuff was total bunk or that the impeachment committee didn’t hide exculpatory information.

Breaking News: Trump and Johnson to Discuss Midterms at White House Following Record Fundraising Haul

https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/04/14/scoop-trump-and-johnson-to-discuss-midterms-at-white-house-following-record-fundraising-haul/

I can see JJ Jamison laughing and asking if she’s serious,

They knew, they just didn’t give a damn

These leftists are all the same…shameless, pontificating BS artists who will lie right to your face and demand you believe them. Remember when ‘nobody’ in Hollywood knew what Weinstein was doing to women, but when he was finally taken down, they found that everyone knew but said nothing because Weinstein was the goose that laid the golden eggs for the leftist Hollywood elite? They are the party of Satan.

C-Span: Weren’t most of you Donks in the know on this?
Pelosi: Who? Who?
C-Span: What, you a f’in’ owl?

Bad behavior of a Democrat politician is a feature rather than a bug.

DNC: Drop out of the governor race or you will regret it.

Swalwell: No.

DNC: Release the Kraken.
