Missing North Carolina Man Austin Tucker Martin Identified as Mar-a-Lago Intruder

Missing North Carolina Man Austin Tucker Martin Identified as Mar-a-Lago Intruder

“He had been reported missing by his family a few days ago, and investigators believe he headed south and picked up the shotgun along the way.”

Authorities have identified the armed intruder shot and killed early Sunday after breaching the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina, according to the Associated Press.

Martin had reportedly been listed as missing by his family just days before the incident. Investigators believe he traveled south and obtained the shotgun along the way. A box for the weapon was discovered inside his vehicle after the shooting.

According to the AP:

“The man, who was in his early 20s and from North Carolina, had a gas can and a shotgun, according to Anthony Guglielmi, the spokesman. He had been reported missing by his family a few days ago, and investigators believe he headed south and picked up the shotgun along the way.”

Fox News broke the name of the shooter on air.

The breach occurred around 1:30 a.m. when Martin drove into the secure perimeter as another vehicle was exiting the property. He was confronted near the north gate by two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw described the encounter:

“He was ordered to drop those two pieces of equipment that he had with them. At which time he put down the gas can, raised the shotgun to a shooting position,” Bradshaw said at a brief press conference. The two agents and the deputy “fired their weapons to neutralize the threat.”

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement officers were injured, and no Secret Service protectees were present at the property at the time. President Trump was not in Florida.

Investigators are working to determine a motive and compile a psychological profile. When asked whether Martin had prior contact with law enforcement, Bradshaw said, “Not right now.”

Law enforcement has since released a photo of the shotgun recovered at the scene.

The post includes the newly released image of the weapon shown during the morning press conference.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement following the incident:

“In the middle of the night while most Americans were asleep, the United States Secret Service acted quickly and decisively to neutralize a crazy person, armed with a gun and a gas canister, who intruded President Trump’s home. Federal law enforcement are working 24/7 to keep our country safe and protect all Americans. It’s shameful and reckless that Democrats have chosen to shut down their Department.”

The FBI is leading the investigation and has asked nearby residents to review exterior surveillance footage. Authorities say the investigation into Martin’s background, actions, and potential motive remains ongoing.

B. He is a mainstream blue voter.

Enough is enough with these assassination attempts. Isn’t it interesting that nothing of this sort ever happened to Biden or Obama, yet this is the third attempt or breach against Trump? Anyway, what is causing this behavior? I may be wrong, but the rhetoric and hatred on display daily by Democrat politicicans and celebrities, real-life hate speech, are the inspiration and motivation behind these attempts against Trump. This has to stop. Hold Jeffries, Schumer, Pelosi, Waters, Pritzker, Newsom, and Democrat liberals who are funding these protests accountable, and this ends quickly.

Isn’t it interesting that nothing of this sort ever happened to Biden or Obama,

That isn’t the case. There were several attempts at 0bama, none of them any more successful than this one. What makes Trump special is that one of the attempts actually came close to succeeding. .

No one tried to kill Biden. This isn’t the comic book world; everyone knows you can’t actually kill the undead.

There were threats to kill Biden, but no actual attempts. There were attempts on 0bama, though they didn’t get far, just as all but one of the attempts on Trump didn’t get far.

How about a specific real example of any attempts on Obama or Biden?

Oh, I’m sure the FBI routinely groomed some low-hanging fruitcakes to issue Facebook threats to both, who were miraculously arrested just as they started their car engine in God’s Armpit, North Dakota for the long armed drive to the 14th Street Bridge. Just like they did on behalf of Whitmer.

isfoss, there was an attempt to kill him at the DNC convention in Denver in August 2008. Three men came to Denver with the specific intent of killing him.

In November 2011 some nut fired a rifle at the White House and actually hit it seven times. That’s much closer than the current attempt on Trump, where the guy never even got close enough to fire at anything.

In September 2014 a man armed with a knife actually made it into the White House before being arrested. Again, that’s closer than this one.

In April and in June 2013 there were two separate people who mailed envelopes to 0bama that tested positive for ricin.

And that’s not counting several plots that didn’t get any farther than being plots, and the plotters were arrested in the preparatory stages such as gathering weapons before making an actual attempt.

And it’s certainly not counting mere threats, of which I’m always skeptical, since I think most policemen and prosecutors, and even judges, don’t understand the difference between true threats and protected speech, or pretend not to understand it.

So the statement that “nothing of this sort ever happened to Biden or Obama” is false. Things of this sort happened to 0bama several times. What makes Trump special is that one of the attempts — not this one — actually came close to succeeding.

No there weren’t. Not even close to this. There were several threats and one guy let off shots near the WH for some reason that has not been made clear.

No, diver64, there were several attempts that got at least as far as this one. The guy who actually shot at the White House got much farther than this one. So did the one who made it inside the White House with a knife.

And there was nothing mysterious about the shooter’s reasons. He believed 0bama was the antichrist, and that he had to be stopped. That’s about as rational as the three attempts on Trump that we know about. Also, the Secret Service completely messed up in that case, much worse than they did in any of the attempts on Trump. They only caught the guy by sheer accident,

Anyone who reads what the Bible says about the Antichrist knows that it is impossible to stop the Antichrist, because the Antichrist is only stopped when Jesus returns and stops him.

Anyone who attempts to kill someone because they are believed to be the Antichrist is not only crazy, but biblically illiterate!

Yup, several p[lots against Obama, but the BIG difference? NO ONE got a shot off at him! So, what’s the obvious difference? Protection. The deep-state SS, FBI and possibly even more-local police did their jobs, not standing around watching a guy climb on a roof and set up shop.

As I said, there were several attempts on 0bama that didn’t get far, just as all but one of the attempts on Trump didn’t get far. The one diver64 cited got farther than this one did. So the assertion that “nothing of this sort ever happened to Biden or Obama” is false.

Dems hope that some bottom feeder in their ranks will sacrifice him/herself in the name of their cause of stopping Trump. Thus the rhetoric will continue.

Generally if an adult is reported missing that quickly it means either the family found some writings indicating he was going to do something bad or stupid or both. The other case is if he has been diagnosed with some mental or medical condition and going a few days without medicine could put him in the hospital or worse.

What do you mean by “that quickly”? There’s no indication of how long he’d been missing before the report was filed. As I understand it the police will generally refuse to take a report until at least 24 hours, though there’s no formal rule about it.

Cameron, NC is a hotbed of communism…believe it or not. They all went to St Andrews in Laurinburg, NC in the early 1970s and made Fort Bragg draftees feel less than Human, simply because they were students and the draftees were subhuman to the students.
What a bunch of entitled idiots with superior attitudes. FA/FO.

I’m sorry that was your limited experience.
However, that is not anywhere near the truth now. It is a very tiny and quiet town, though of course near larger ones.
I did read where this man’s older sister was killed in a traffic accident 3 years ago at the age of 21. Who knows the effects of that. He had a job at a golf course.

Authorities say the investigation into Martin’s background, actions, and potential motive remains ongoing.

When do we reach the The Motive May Never Be Known (TM) stage? I will give it a month.

Sounds like another example of “suicide by cop”, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that he has a long history of emotional instability. Very sad for his parents, who appear to have previously lost a daughter, as well. It is likely that he got the inspiration for this form of self destruction from some of the countless TDS dedicated websites. They are doing their best to radicalize and weaponize vulnerable people, hoping that eventually someone will get lucky.

Democrat self-help websites: everything from “mixmaster your genitals” and “bonbons for beauty” to “go commit suicide by Secret Service.” James Arthur Ray (the sweat lodge king) got nothing on these chicks.

One fewer Democrat…

How’s that investigation into Crooks going, btw. Crickets, yeah.

Another mental case who sought to become famous, or rather infamous, to showcase his TDS credentials. Instead, another lost soul consigned to the dustbin of history.

My thought is that he had some kind of Mental problem exacerbated by liberalism and had watched way to may Hollywood gun fights. He apparently thought he could raise and point a shotgun at Federal Agents and actually get a shot off before becoming DRT. That only happens in Hollywood.
