Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett Files to Run for Senate From Texas

Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett Files to Run for Senate From Texas

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. I wonder if she even makes it out of the Democratic primary.

Did she need a separate filing for her eyebrows?

*snort*

It’s hard to be professional when it comes to someone like Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).

It’s going to be even harder because Crockett filed to run for the Senate in 2026 after Rep. Colin Allred, a potential rival, dropped his bid for the Democratic primary.

I mean, look at the video:

Crockett held an event in Texas to make her announcement.

You guys…I just cannot. How is this real life? At least Crockett doesn’t hide the reason why so many people run for office: ME ME ME ME!

Chris Cillizza wrote at The Daily Beast that Crockett’s run “could be a nightmare for Democrats” because the Democrats could give the Republicans a decent run if Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wins the Republican primary.

But uber progressive Crockett would ruin that because Texas is not Illinois.

I just hope conservatives turn out in droves next November and relegate ridiculous fools like her to jobs at PMS NOW.

If Paxton wins the GOP nomination, this election will be a complete contrast in ideologies. If the centrist incumbent wins the GOP nomination Crockett and the Dems will certainly have more energy and probably a massive ground operation. I would expect the GOP to hold on but you never know.

That’s what the 2020 race would have been, with Trump representing the spirit of America and Sanders the spirit of collectivism with 8-cylinder wealth distribution. That stark contrast would have shown the Ds that they were anti-American. This explains all the dirty work to get Biden the nomination – to continue fooling the citizens the true intentions of the Ds.

I would not totally count out Crockett if Cornyn gets the nomination.

What’s up with the Mr. Magoo goggles?

The woman is a walking stereotype, and not in a good way.

There are plenty of black women that would make fine senators.

She not only isn’t one of them, she’s an utter garbage human being to boot.

At the Texas Republican Party Headquarters……there was much rejoicing.

Watch out for Wesley Hunt. He would be amazing against Crockett.

missouri flushed her a while back and she ends up here–lord

she’d look better with a toilet seat around her neck–a more appropos accessory to affirm what she really is

Dumber than a box of Crocketts.

All hat and no cattle.

And she doesn’t have a hat.

Y’all shouldn’t be so quick to discount the GOP’s ability to fuck things up.

Cornyn is a piece of crap, but he’s the GOPe’s piece of crap. The party would absolutely throw a senate race to prevent someone like Paxton from getting in.

I’m inclined to think that if Crockett actually debates a guy like Paxton, Paxton will win halfway through the first round by a K.O.

Well….If her approach is to run as a Trump hater, and why wouldn’t she, I think it’s actually a pretty effective ad. She certainly isn’t capable of explaining a policy position.

Texas isn’t as Red as many people believe.

Remember how narrow Cruz’ victory over Beto was just a few years ago.

I think that there was probably some “election fortification” in the Blue Counties of Texas like Harris (Houston), Travis (Austin), Bexar (San Antonio), Dallas (Dallas), El Paso and a few border counties. I am a “citizen” of Texas (not just a resident) and voted in that election.

It didn’t help that Cruz didn’t take O’Rourke seriously and ran a “don’t fire even if you see the whites of their eyes” campaign. I did not see a single Cruz ad on TV, and only a handful of Cruz yard signs (which were not even bought by the campaign but by an outside group). The average Texas voter could be excused if they didn’t know Cruz was even running.

The end result in the county where I live is that Cruz won about 53-47 instead of 60-40 when he ran the first time. There were similar results in other places in the state where Cruz had won easily but saw his margin get sliced this time. There were no major demographic or economic changes: the Cruz campaign simply got out-hustled.

FWIW: a number of long-time state Republican activists told me that the Cruz campaign (which was not as flush with cash as O’Rourke but not exactly a pocket of poverty) was blowing through huge amounts of campaign dough by spending it on consultants and focus groups rather than on advertising or getting out the vote. One friend of mine grumbled that Cruz was spending more to provide employment for DC GOP political consultants than in winning.

A major party nomination is always worth having. Sometimes lightning strikes. Remember how September 2008 propelled a Democratic landslide? I wouldn’t count Crockett out until the election is over.

Jasmine brings dishonor to the name Crockett. Davy Crockett was a Hero of the Battle of the Alamo. I vote that she should change her surname to Crock-o-shit.

Just to clarify — win or lose, she’s gone from the House, right?

This is probably the best chance we have to permanently retire her. She can’t run for two different seats at once, so if she loses she loses everything

I think Dems pushed her to run knowing a Republican was going to win the seat and this is a golden opportunity to get rid of her. She will win parts of Houston, Austin, some of Dallas and….I don’t know where else. That won’t be enough to get Ghetto Barbie across the finish line.

Her only chance is to run for president in 28 and choose Tubbs as her running mate.

I don’t know who wrote The Daily Beast article, but they need to so some research. After defeating George P Bush (JEB! son and W’s nephew, the designated heir apparent to revise the House of Bush) by 68/32 Ken Paxton won the 2022 state election for AG 53/43, we call that a landslide. No question. Crockett makes Paxton’s (assuming he win’s the nomination) likely win for the senate to almost guaranteed. He’s highly aligned with President Trump who won Texas 56/42.

To paraphrase former Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards, against Crockett, the only way Paxton would loose is to be found in bed with a live boy or a dead girl

This is a person who first advocated that blacks should not be subject to taxation, then changed her mind. She decided that would not be sufficient because “most black people don’t pay taxes anyway”. She now supports direct cash payments to blacks.

Just what we don’t need, is another Maxine Waters type of politician. All flash and no substance.
