Democrats Vote Down Plan to Pay Troops, Leave for Another Long Weekend

The Democrats also tanked the CR for the tenth time.

The Senate Democrats, except three, voted down a bill that would fund the Pentagon, which included payment for the troops.

It needed 60 votes to advance to the next round.

The Democrats did this despite the bill leaving committee with a vote of 26-3.

But that also means Democrats who voted for it in the committee did not vote for it today.

Democratic Sens. John Fetterman (PA), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), and Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) voted yes.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer argued against even considering the bill without the annual Labor, Health, and Human Services appropriations bill.

“It’s always been unacceptable to Democrats to do the Defense bill without other bills that have so many things that are important to the American people in terms of health care, in terms of housing, in terms of safety,” Schumer said, as reported by The Hill.

Well, Senate Majority Leader John Thune made it known that if it passed this vote, “lawmakers could have modified it to include other funding bills.”

How about we just keep everything as separate?! Why is that so hard!?

The Senate will adjourn today and not return until Monday.

By the way, this is why our founders set up the government the way that they did. It’s working the way it’s supposed to.

We need to make sure that the troops know specifically who voted that they not be paid.

I hope they are paying attention. especially the black troops. who is putting you back in chains now, eh? Guess what! It’s not Trump and the republicans.

Be Democrats.

Be butthurt over losing to Trump.

Throw tantrum at every turn.

    Rinse.

    Repeat.

Imagine how great we could make America if the Dems, the RINOs, the media, and the bureaucracy worked with Trump instead of fighting his every move. Every accomplishment Trump has is in spite of those groups, not because of them.

I think we saw in the Biden administration, after the Democrats thought they had “successfully” gotten rid of Trump, that they desire the opposite of those accomplishments entirely on those policies’ own terms, and not just because Trump wants or wanted them. Many of the policies they promoted that aimed to loot or destroy America had little relationship to issues Trump had ever affected — they just wanted them to watch America burn.

Democrats absolutely own this shut down 😂😂

Without trannies, DEI, and race based promotions why would Democrats support a US military? It isn’t as if most of them support our nation.

Not only do the Dems own the shutdown, but now they own NOT paying the troops who protect them! This isn’t 80/20 it’s more like 95/5!

New Law: During g’vment shutdowns ALL g’vment employee – including Reps and Senators – wages stop.

While it wouldn’t matter to the Pelosis, the AOCs and Crocketts would raise holy hell.

The demonrats are just digging a deeper hole. The only people in my circle who have brought up the shutdown are known liberals. No one else cares. Wait till President Trump realizes he can order the Treasury to start selling gold to pay the military and law enforcement.

Only if it still has any. 😒

Trump (no POTUS, actually) can withdraw funds from the Treasury that haven’t been appropriated.

    Art. I, sec. 9
No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law…

You do realize that the U.S. Federal Government sold all the gold (Au) reserves a long time ago, right? And the only gold remaining in the Fed Reserve vaults is owned by foreign governments who might take a dim view of the matter if Trump tried to sell their gold, right? So nope, Trump isn’t going to be selling any of the gold any time soon.

The slime proves again its only power they want.

“It’s always been unacceptable to Democrats to do the Defense bill without other bills that have so many things that are important to the American people in terms of health care, in terms of housing, in terms of safety,”

Let’s bog down the constitutional defense of our nation in the name of all the crap that has ZERO constitutional delegation of authority.

Bad optics for a Jew to demand pork fried pork.

Schumer is a schit head. The minute he added “safety” as a concern Democrats share with American people lightning should have struck him dead, or dead again in the case of his brain.

Activate National Guard from every state. Their mission, a 24/7 six person protection detail for all Senators. They would need a TS Yankee White clearance so they could not be dismissed when classified info was to discussed. The soldiers would not be on a detail of their state Senator. They need to be in place 10 days before the next payday.

At this point, Thune needs to change the filibuster rule for a CR. It would be fun watching the DemoncRats go crazy if he did that. Also, it would make it obvious to the public who the bad guys are here.

This is actually an interesting non-nuclear nuclear option.

For a clean CR only a simple majority is needed as the original budget that this is continuing got 60+ votes.

It would end this game once and for all. We’d get budgets again.
