Sen. Paul Stumps Former CDC Director Over Newborns and Hep B Vaccine
“What is the medical scientific reason and proof for giving a newborn a Hepatitis B vaccine? If the mom is Hep B negative?”
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stumped former CDC Director, Susan Monarez, whom HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fired for not changing the childhood vaccine schedule.
Monarez couldn’t answer a simple question: “What is the medical reason to give a Hepatitis B vaccine to a newborn whose mom has no hepatitis?”
Well, we all know she could answer the question. Instead, she tapped around the question:
“You wouldn’t fire the people who are saying that we have to vaccinate our kids at six months of age. That’s who you refuse to fire.”
Monarez: “So that assertion, is not commensurate with the experience that I had with the individuals who are identified to be fired.”
Paul: “Did any of the people you refused to fire believe that we should change the vaccine schedule and no longer force six-month-old kids to take it?”
“Every one of them was adamant we should keep it at six months.”
Then Paul dropped a question that stopped the room cold:
“What is the medical reason to give a Hepatitis B vaccine to a newborn whose mom has no hepatitis?”
Monarez: “So none of the discussion points that you just brought up were ever…”
Paul: “That’s changing the childhood schedule.”
“This is the debate over changing the childhood schedule. The Hepatitis B vaccine on the schedule is given to newborns.”
“What is the medical scientific reason and proof for giving a newborn a Hepatitis B vaccine? If the mom is Hep B negative?”
Monarez: “I want to go back to the assertion…”
Paul: “What is the medical reason for giving a Hepatitis B vaccine to newborn?”
“See, everybody’s like blithely going along. We can’t change the childhood and you’re somehow terrible if you want to change the childhood, we should be discussing what is the childhood vaccine schedule.”
“The burden should be on you. You want to make all the kids take this. The burden is upon you and the people you wouldn’t fire to prove to us that we need to give our six-month-old a COVID vaccine, and that we need to give our one-day-old a Hepatitis B vaccine.”
“That’s what the debate ought to be about, not whether all vaccines are good or whether we live in Alice in Wonderland.”
Rand Paul gets to the root of the issue behind why Susan Monarez was let go from the CDC.
You could feel it…the moment everything changed.
It was about one thing: the childhood vaccine schedule.
And Senator Paul made it clear that this is the debate the public deserves to… pic.twitter.com/X8INKfmUuS

When I was growing up, I had Polio, Smallpox, Mumps, Measles and that I believe that was it. I went to the internet and counted roughly 35 that a child will have by the time they start school. Are children healthier today? I don’t think so.
I counted 53 by age 18. Insane. Including HPV for everyone.
A number of those shots are twofers or threefers, so the actual vaxx count is even higher. There’s evidence that vaxxes for measles, mumps, and rubella are less dangerous when given separately as opposed to given at one time as with the MMR shot. Harm in general is reduced if vaxxes are spaced out, but of course that’s discouraged due to convenience factors and not health considerations.
It’s not New Knowledge that…..
Too Many Vaccines All At Once Can Be Bad For You.
I joined the Army in the late 70s. It was SOP to vax the heck out of the new recruits – all at once and regardless of whatever your previous vax history was. It was also SOP to give the recruits the next day off and only light duty for the next few days.
Apparently your immune system has trouble multi-tasking too many changes at once.
I was in around that time. We got the full suite with an airgun in basic. Got vaxed again before going overseas, got vaxed again going overseas, several years after I got out I got vaxed again before going overseas. At some point unless it’s for lockjaw I’m a little sceptical all of them are needed.
I had Polio, Smallpox, and MMR. Mumps, measles and rubella.
That was it.
Wjen I was little the polio vaccine did not yet exist. Measles and mumps? Hah, we just either got them or didn’t. Hah when one household had either, others would come over and spend the day hoping theirs would get it. The mild version kids got brought permanent immunity. Smallpox wasn’t very common in most places. We all made it through in good shape.
The vaccine industry is about ten percent usephul and ninety percent racket.
If these infants are such swingers they need Hep shots, then why not lace baby formula with Antabuse?
If these infant’s parents are such swingers they are putting their children at risk from deadly diseases then why are the infants not removed from their homes?
Because risky, degenerate behavior isn’t sufficiently bad (or even unusual) parenting to break up family units, especially since you’d have to rehome over 10% of the kids in the country.
It’s not at all like they were conservative Christians or anything.
The answer is ‘because we said so’ with a side of big Pharma wants their product(s) to be mandatory and the ever present dash of totalitarian minded bureaucrats who wish to use the power of the State (armed force) to compel compliance with their dictates.
Bobby is right in at least one thing. A bunch of these vaccines were not adequately tested for safety and side effects like the COVID vaccine. They may be perfectly fine but we should know for sure.
And there has NEVER been any studies of the interactions between vaccines and their safety/harm.
The medical reason that I was told by my OB is because of false negative Hep B tests of the mother and because the infection may be picked up after the test is given. The transmission rate of supposedly Hep B negative mothers to their infants is 5-10% (70-90% of Hep B positive mothers).
I didn’t get the shot for my newborns but waited until they started school
.02% of live births result in a baby born with HepB. Imagine the money you’d make if you could mandate the shot for all 3.6 million births per year instead of the thousands of actual cases.
3.6M x .0002 = 720
More kids drown in buckets.
I might get monkey pox if I suddenly decided to engage in unprotected anal sex with unknown, random multiple partners. That you might get something is not a medical reason, it’s an opinion
there is no cure for leftism
but we can inoculate the children with a healthy dose(s) of love instead of fear that the lefty brings to our tables
Tyler Robinson will hopefully receive a “cure” soon.
If you ever studied Latin, you’d realize there’s just something sinister about all Lefty’s in general.
Forgot to add that this woman should have been fired for not being able to answer a simple question when she should absolutely know the answer.
Oh, she was able to answer it. She just wasn’t willing to tell the truth.
so she STILL should get canned because she was lying and promoting her own pivae agenda.
The answer to that question is obvious, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it. Isn’t the first rule in the Hippocratic Oath “Do no harm” ? Every time you inject anything into someone’s body, you risk harm.
No. Although the principle appears in Hippocrates’ works, it is not included in the Oath.
Smallpox, polio, etc. vaccines were miracles in their time. But big Pharma got greedy, always rent seeking in collusion with the government.
not sure about “greedy”
the government runs the show and allows all the dramas
and the voters elect them to do so
the welfare system has made the term entitlement really mean something bad
I watched a good bit of the hearing and I can easily see why she was fired. She’s a smug lying sack of sh*t – and not particularly skilled at it.
The question is, why was she ever hired?
Anyway, she’ll be gone for good soon and never heard of again. Of course, she’ll get a cushy job blathering BS at the Kennedy School for Failed Democrats. Funny, from one Kennedy to another. Not the first time that’s happened.
Out of curiosity, I researched when she was hired.
Oops, she was nominated by Trump this year and confirmed only this last July.
It’s a shame he’s still hiring backstabbers, but at least he’s no longer hesitant to fire when indicated,
Hiring backstabbers. That’s what characterized Trump’s whole 1st term. but at least it doesn’t seem as bad this time around. But still you’d think his advisors would recommend better people for positions like this. But there you go and here we are.
As long as you don’t hire TOO many (like Trump 1.0 did), it’s acceptable loss, like “shrinkage.” After all, the candidate pool is often not exactly deep, and in DC its very polluted.
And the people you hire can sometimes change once they’re in power… like roughly 50% of the SCOTUS justices ever nominated by Republican presidents, not just Trump.
As I’ve mentioned before, when the Covid vaxxes were approved for use in six-month old infants, someone conflated this with “medically indicated for use in six-month old infants.” This is what Paul is also pointing out – “authorized for use” is not the same as “medically indicated.” She didn’t want to talk about why the Hep B vaxx is “medically indicated” for infants, if she even knew the answer to the question.
It’s not about a vaxx being on a schedule or authorized/approved for use in X population. What matters is whether or not it’s medically indicated for particular persons in that population. Vaccines shouldn’t be given willy-nilly based on generalizations that aren’t necessarily applicable to the individual patient.
If parents can authorize sex change operations for their kids then why can’t they refuse vaccinations?
Authoritarians don’t think you should be able to do either.
I am 80, so my vaccination experience is a bit different. I got the smallpox vaccine and have the scar on my arm to prove it. I got the Salk polio vaccine shot as soon as it was avaialbe and the sugar cube vaccine when it came out (I had an aquantance who had polio.) I probably got the diphtheria, etc. vaccine. I got the measles disease and a recent blood test show I still have lots of antibodies to measles. I probably had the mumps, but was never ill despite being exposed a couple of different times. I started getting the flu shots when Ebola became a thing. I thought that someone is going to get the flu and crazy people are going to think it is Ebola and I did not want to be the victim of crazy people.. Depending on what foregin countries my wife are going to visit on vacation, I get any necessary vaccines.
When my future wife applied for her visa to come to the US, she had to get a boatload of shots all at the same time. She spent 2 weeks being deathly sick from those shots. While I believe in vaccines, I agree that getting them all at once is not a good idea.
Said every boot camp grunt for the past 100 years.
