Moral Relativism and the Justification of Political Violence

Moral Relativism and the Justification of Political Violence

“The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.”

The shocking recent wave of politically motivated violence reveals the radicalization of the American Left. The moderates have been displaced by hard-core radicals who would stop at nothing to destroy the system. History helps us understand the rationale behind the radical Left’s justification of violence.

As early as the 19th century, radical leftist ideologues indoctrinated their followers that violence was unavoidable to destroy traditional society and achieve their utopian vision. They believed in moral relativism and repudiated Judeo-Christian ethics and objective morality. They did not perceive human life as unique and inherently valuable and did not consider murder wrong.

One hundred years ago, radical leftist violence resulted in one of the bloodiest terrorist acts in the world, which happened in my native city of Sofia. Members of the communist party received funding from the Soviet Union to assassinate the Bulgarian government and political elite. The first step was to murder a famous general to ensure a large gathering of prominent figures for his funeral in the church of St. Sunday.

The assassins planted a bomb under the roof of the church and placed it in such a way as to target primarily the government officials present at the ceremony. It so happened that the general’s casket needed to be moved from its original location to accommodate the multitude of attendants. This managed to partially block the blast and spare most of the government members. Unfortunately, hundreds of others were killed or severely wounded.

This act was received with mass condemnation. The various terrorist groups in the United States from the 1960s onward were also condemned by society at large. In recent years, however, acts of political violence have been positively perceived by the Left. In a tragically prophetic X post, dated April 7th of this year, Charlie Kirk remarked:

Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump. In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione. The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.

In a heartfelt tribute to Charlie Kirk, Victor Davis Hanson pointed out that his assassination was not only politically motivated but represented an attack on free speech and open and civil debate, a pernicious new phenomenon in our country:

It was a political assassination because when you think of people under the age of 35 on the conservative side who combined photogenic ability to speak to people without notes, to do a podcast, to have the administrative skill to create from scratch a huge organization, to be politically savvy, and to know which states to go in and how to approach the electorate to help the conservatives. And you put all that together, he is irreplaceable. He really is…. This was a political assassination, but it was also journalistic. Usually, we don’t see attacks on reporters or journalists or podcasters, and so this is new … then it’s a not just a political act, but it’s also trying to thwart the dissemination of knowledge.

Justifying violence and attacks on free speech is an extremely dangerous tendency that needs to be addressed and stopped with every lawful means available.

but the black matriarchy wont suffer:

Westchester County’s top Democrat was blasted Thursday for refusing to fire a callous school cop who celebrated the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk — slamming the pol for “lack of empathy.”

GOP county executive candidate Christine Sculti and other local pols said incumbent Dem Ken Jenkins botched the training of controversial cop Tanisha Blanche, sacrificing the safety of students at the Somers Intermediate School where she had been assigned.

This should have been stopped in its tracks when it started. Does anyone remember the riots in DC at President Trump’s first inauguration? Does anyone remember the riots in DC when Floyd died? How many people were arrested and prosecuted and imprisoned in those cases? Not too many if memory serves. Moreover, did anyone do much about riots in other cities when George Floyd died? Cities were burning and the Leftist-sicko journalists had the chutzpah to call it mostly peaceful protests. Trump made a mistake when that happened. He should have declared a national emergency and mobilized the National Guard to stomp (literally) on the rioters, and he should have tried to get the then recalcitrant DOJ to prosecute the rioters. Should these kinds of riots happen today, we can hope that President Trump will act much, much forcefully, and that a cooperative DOJ will prosecute these violent Leftists to the fullest extent possible.

You’re assuming that Trump didn’t try to order the guard out to put down the riots. You’re also assuming that he would have been if he did order them out. I’d be willing to bet he did and was disobeyed/ignored.

The difference this time around is that he immediately removed officers that should have been out of there his first term.

The military was in Near revolt with President Trump they were full of woke left wing traitors

There were days I actually thought they would put him under house arrest they were so evil

And that MFer Biden pardoned the worst of them, Milley. Otherwise he could be brought out of retirement and court martialed for his conduct.

    18 U.S. Code § 2387 – Activities affecting armed forces generally
(a)Whoever, with intent to interfere with, impair, or influence the loyalty, morale, or discipline of the military or naval forces of the United States:
    (1) advises, counsels, urges, or in any manner causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty by any member of the military or naval forces of the United States;
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

Two comments, one is new, the other I may have recently posted here (a variant is presented here).

When I use the word “Leftist” I mean “radical Leftist.” It is redundant to spell it out.

Why are we here? Why was Charlie Kirk murdered? We are here, and Kirk was murdered, because when there was rioting in Kenosha, and Kyle Rittenhouse showed up with an AR-15, 1,000 Kenoshans didn’t show up with their own AR-15s to help him defend their own city.

In 1837, in Alton Illinois, there was a newspaper editor named Elijah Parish Lovejoy. He was an abolitionist and used his newspaper to campaign for abolition and against slavery. Though Illinois was a non-slave state, it wasn’t friendly to black people or to abolitionists.

Mobs repeatedly destroyed the printing presses to try to shut Lovejoy up. Finally, in November, when a new press was delivered, Lovejoy and others went to try to protect the new press from a mob.

Lovejoy was shot and killed that night. He was a journalist murdered to shut him up. He became a martyr for the abolitionist cause. The Civil War began 25 years later but there was growing violence the entire time. Eerily similar, huh?

Abolitionists were largely conservatives, soon to be Republicans. The mob was obviously composed of Dems because it was pro-slavery and, well, a violent mob.

“The Liberator” long called for free states to leave the union. “No union with slavers” was a call for non-slave states to secede.

Looking at the careers of terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers, among many others, I wouldn’t exactly say “The various terrorist groups in the United States from the 1960s onward were also condemned by society at large.”

The left buried them in academia, the perfect camouflage for anti-American commies.

And those Marxists have been in academia since the 1930’s/1940’s when the the Frankfurt school migrated here from Germany.

They have been a major influence on the left ever since, especially in the 1960’s counterculture.

The US has Ben a simmering pot of terror for decades. The left started with the protests against Vietnam. A war they decided they could win with technology. Out of those protests came the hard left Congressman from the protest movement. They learned to demonize their opposition. They seeded classrooms and colleges with like minded travelers. Here we are today standing at a precipice looking into the abyss.

Makes me think of this exchange between Tim Pool and Steven Crowder which I watched last night where they talked about the violence and threats they’ve experienced and how they plan on dealing with future violence that may be directed at them.

Can I just pop my head in the door to mention how much I enjoy reading Nora’s posts?

Brilliant stuff, actually.

One lessen to be drawn is to stop working with folks who refuse to work in good faith, proven themselves to be untrustworthy and who have purposefully mischaracterized the argument/debate/issues It doesn’t mean stop talking with them but it does mean a refusal to work collaboratively with them until they choose to put in the hard work to reform and redeem themselves through a series of concrete actions.
