Scarborough Says IL Gov. Pritzker Should Work With President Trump on Crime
“I think he should pick up the phone, call the president”
Trump’s plan to take his crime crackdown from Washington, DC to Chicago is being met on the left with exactly the calm, reasoned discourse one might expect, but it’s warranted. The city is a war zone.
The New York Post reports:

Chicago’s Labor Day weekend bloodbath left eight people dead and scores wounded — while left-wing Mayor Brandon Johnson continued to rail against President Trump’s proposed National Guard deployment to tackle the city’s crime.
At least 58 people were shot across the city, with gunfire erupting in at least 32 different shootings throughout the holiday weekend, WLS reported.
One neighborhood saw two mass shootings within 48 hours — with seven people being injured in a drive-by shooting Saturday night and five more being wounded blocks away Monday.
Pritzker was asked about this and responded with a typical ‘but Trump.’
Reporter: "This past weekend, 54 shot, 7 dead. Would you ask your friends to ride the train after midnight?"

Over on MSNBC, even Joe Scarborough of Morning Joe is saying it’s time for Pritzker to work with Trump.

JOE SCARBOROUGH, ‘MORNING JOE’ HOST: Well, my concern is you have leaders in Chicago that see this as you say, we’ve been reading about this for years now. Every weekend and maybe crime has gone down, but you know, we had the mayor of Chicago on last week saying, oh, we don’t need any more police officers. Police officers aren’t the answer. No police officers. I get it. I think he said no five times.
You look what’s happening this weekend. He looks so, you know, I, I, I actually think that JB Pritzker should do something radical. I think he should pick up the phone, call the president and say, you know, and I know you don’t have the constitutional authority to deploy the National Guard here and to police my, my, you can do that in DC. You can’t do that in Chicago, but let’s partner up. These are the most dangerous parts of my state. We would love to figure out how to have a partnership that’s constitutional, that respects the, the, the, the sort of balance of federalism between the federal government and the state government and let’s work together to save lives because right now just the, hey, nothing to see here moving along. No problem here. Hey, Donald Trump, we don’t need you.
And you know, the mayor talking about we’re, we’re going to protect people’s dignity in our city. We’ll protect their lives. That’s protecting their dignity.

What he’s REALLY saying is, ‘OK you morons, you have to at least PRETEND to want to stop crime, the normies are noticing’.
He’s saying at least PRETEND to make a deal with Trump, issue a bunch of ridiculous demands that you know Trump won’t accept, then you can BS in the news about ‘gosh gee whiz guys I totally want to stop crime but Trump wants to act like a dictator!’
It’s pure self-interest trying to salvage the idiots in his party.
Demand only black National Guard troops be deployed due to the fear any other troops would bring to the denizens of Chicago.
Democrats like crime because some are in on it with the criminals for graft. Others like criminals because they are stuck in the 1960s when they ‘blamed society’ for criminals and it is to be expected that these poor people would act this way as a way of getting justice with a society that wronged them. And besides, Republicans are racist.
The only difference between the first group and the second is whether they’re making money on side for it, or just stupidly enabling it for free, because what each group is supporting are equivalent:

Yes. let’s ignore what Democrats have been doing for 50+ years and focus on Trump.
He has a point if Pritzker even had a semblance of being a leader. There’s zero downside to it as it’s not like the city or state are turning even purple anytime soon.
He going to get canceled now, unless he “clarifies his remarks” and “apologizes any confusion”?
