Palisades Mega-Fire Suspected to be Caused by Humans

Palisades Mega-Fire Suspected to be Caused by Humans

Because of this continuing disaster, the public is now realizing that the “climate crisis” is not real, and the only climate involved in this disaster is the California political climate…which is not healthy for humans or other living things.

At least 25 people have died in the Los Angeles area fires so far. The death toll includes 17 fatalities from the Eaton Fire in Altadena and eight from the Palisades Fire.

The identities of the victims of California official’s failure to engage in water infrastructure development and maintenance and initiate fire safety actions are slowly being released.

Victor Shaw, 66, died from smoke inhalation and burn injuries at his Altadena home, according to the medical examiner. Charles Mortimer, 84, of Pacific Palisades died in a hospital from a heart attack, smoke inhalation and burns, according to the medical examiner.

Additional Palisades fire victims include avid hang-glider Arthur Simoneau, 69; Australian child actor Rory Sykes, 32; Malibu surfer Randall Miod, 55; and Annette Rossilli, who was in her 80s.

Additional Eaton fire victims include Erliene Kelley, 83; father and son Anthony Mitchell Sr. and Justin Mitchell; Dalyce Curry, 95; Kim Winiecki, 77; Rodney Kent Nickerson, 82; and Evelyn McClendon.

Officials warn that this number will likely rise as search and recovery operations continue in both fire zones. Here is the current status of the two main blazes in the Greater Los Angeles area:

Palisades Fire

The Palisades Fire in Los Angeles has burned 23,713 acres and is 17% contained. The fire has destroyed 1,280 structures and damaged 204 others. Over 5000 firefighters continue battling the flames, and over 12,000 structures remain threatened.

A “particularly dangerous situation” warning is in effect until noon Wednesday for parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, as wind gusts between 25-55 mph are forecasted for the evening, creating critical fire weather conditions

Evacuation orders are in place for many areas, including parts of Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Calabasas, Brentwood, and Encino.

Report: Palisades Fire Had Human Origins

Yesterday, CNN analysts were upset that the “climate crisis” wasn’t given the attention they felt it deserved by the American public in the wake of the Great Los Angeles Fire.

That’s because the public now realizes that the “climate crisis” is not real, and the only climate involved in this disaster is the California political climate…which is not healthy for humans or other living things.

And the Palisades mega-fire may be a “man-caused” disaster.

Authorities investigating the cause of the fire told the Los Angeles Times that they believe it was started by someone — possibly as an accident, sources told the Times.

Officials noted the trail is popular with hikers and is often used as a hangout by local teens and the fire may have “human origins,” according to the Times.

The area’s an overlook known as Skull Rock on the Temescal Ridge trail in Pacific Palisades. The blaze has consumed nearly 30,000 acres (47 square miles) and destroyed 5,000 structures since it was sparked nearly a week ago.

A small fire burned there on New Year’s Eve after apparently being started by fireworks, but was put out shortly after.

Rekindling of this fire is a real possibility, as well as ignition from discarded cigarettes, unattended fires from homeless people, or other careless behavior.

Eaton Fire

The Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County remains active and poses a significant threat. It has burned 14,117 acres and is 35% contained, claiming 2,722 structures, damaging 329 others, and threatening 39,428 more.

In addition to killing 17 civilians, five firefighters have been injured.

Mugshots of the Looters Released

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has arrested 39 people in areas impacted by the Palisades and Eaton fires. Sheriff Robert Luna indicated that most of those arrests were made near the Eaton Fire.

The newly elected and competent Los Angeles County District Attorney has been very busy dealing with these creeps.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman has spoken at several news conferences since the start of the fires. Monday, he announced charges against 10 people, nine of those people were charged with burglarizing homes in the Eaton and Palisades fire areas. Filing charging documents against three alleged suspects list $200,000 worth of goods stolen from an evacuated home in Mandeville Canyon. Hochman showed Ring camera footage of the suspects in the home.

In an Altadena burglary investigation of an evacuated home, police recovered an Emmy award, among other items, as part of stolen property. Three suspects in this case are charged with one count each of residential burglary.

Two other suspects are charged with burglary for looting two evacuated homes on Jan. 8 in Altadena.

“It’s not a question of if, but when you will be caught when you engage in these crimes,” Hochman said.

Some of the mugshots have been released.

Ten burglary suspects were discovered within the Palisades fire evacuation zones. Police said six of the ten suspects were carrying “burglary tools.”

All suspects had traveled to the disaster area from outside Santa Monica, police added.

It’s slowly dawning on people that this is not a one-day disaster that a few dollars and stirring speeches will fix. The region and the state may never heal due to all the poor policy choices made over the past 3 decades.

It’s caused by a chain reaction, every spot ignites two spots.

It may or may not have been started by humans, but there is little doubt it was made worse by humans, namely, Democrats.

Skull Rock.

Multiple arson fires or fires of suspicious origin have ignited in the area over the past four years after the LAPD, at the behest of now former City Councilman Mike Bonin, discontinued regular patrols of the Bluffs and the hillside areas.

One of the officers who conducted those patrols, who was granted anonymity to speak freely, told RedState that he and his partner regularly removed homeless encampments from the area and that the patrols were a visible deterrent to fire-starting activity.

Yep. Winter time brings colder temps and higher winds. The conditions that lead to accidental fires from homeless junkies living outdoors. LAFD should already be well aware of that, expect that, and have planned for that. With proper preparation, it should be possible to mitigate. But that would require competent local and state government, which won’t ever happen with dem super majority and misplaced leftist priorities. Now LA is facing lost decade.

For the dumbos over at CNN, “Climate Change” did not even exist in 1991 or 2007. Back then, the lunatics were calling it by its original name, “Global Warming”.

But they had to stop calling it “Global Warming” because every time they had a “Global Warming” meeting, it snowed. They even tried to cheat this curse by having a meeting in Delhi …. and it snowed there for the “Global Warming” meeting … for the first time in 100 years, or something. The leftists got too embarrassed by all the mockery that would follow them freezing to death on their “Global Warming” efforts – like when that ship got stuck in ice because they thought the “Global Warming” was going to open a passage – so the name started shifting. They went through a few iterations before they finally landed on the retarded “Climate Change”, which they figured was vanilla enough to never lead to more embarrassment for reasons of any lack of change.

Fifty years ago the alarmists were getting their knickers in a knot over global cooling.

And the best part of it was that the cause they identified was EXACTLY THE SAME as the cause the now identify for global warming!!! What are the odds of that happening?! It’s all about burning fossil fuels, of course. Leftists just hate humanity – modern humanity, at least. They are okay with a few thousand savages in loincloths running around the planet, but that’s about it.

LA has 75,000 homeless junkies suffering from mental illness living outdoors. In the winter time they light fires in trash cans for warmth, which can blow up in high winds.

And that’s if you want to be charitable and say it might have been ‘accidental’.

There’s a bunch of lunatic ones that just like burning stuff. California and the police know all about them.

There’s 3 different large fires nowhere near each other. They didn’t all start ‘accidentally’ at the same time.

That’s because a larger share of the public now realizes that the “climate crisis” is not real
FIFY, Leslie. There’s still plenty of people – including people who have lost their homes in LA – who believe the Climate Cult pronouncements.

As an aside, none of them can even connect the idea of rising seas with desalination and pumping seawater onto fires. (Because if the seas are rising, you should be able to desalinate to lower the ocean levels, right?)

For the Marxist US media, all disasters are caused by one or more of the following:

1. Climate change
2. Donald Trump
3. Racism

Here, they get to blame all three! A trifecta!

Wilfully refusing to follow common sense wildfire mitigation policies like creating fire breaks, cutting and removing of ladder fuels along with building and filling reservoirs sufficient to meet worst case firefighting demand played a much larger role than ‘climate change’. As did failure to invest in sufficient dedicated aircraft for firefighting. Lets not overlook the ‘vax’ mandate that sent over 100 LA.firefighters off the job and referee others from applying or to early retirement/change in career leaving th them short of authorized # of firefighters.

Of course it freaking was. ALL of the fires were – because there’s more than one!

The media isn’t doing a very good job of separating it, but there are actually TWO DIFFERENT major fires, in completely different spots. One in Palisades, that’s the one on the news, according to the fire app I look at, that’s now covered 23,713 acres and is still burning.

But there is a SECOND major fire centered in Eaton, a good ~25 miles away that has consumed 14,117 acres and is ALSO still burning.

And there was a THIRD ‘minor’ fire in Hurst, that ‘only’ consumed 799 acres (but is basically stopped at this point), which is ALSO a good 20 or so miles away from either of the others!

Not to mention about 10 different tiny minor fires that were stopped before consuming more than 1-2 acres or so.
The weather is windy and dry but cold. Its been in the 50’s to low 60’s here the whole time. Nature does not spark fire when its 60 degrees outside. MAYBE you could claim that MAYBE it was wind shoving stuff into power lines, but the idea that it’s ‘climate change’ starting the fires is lunacy.

Homeless nutcases or looters are out there intentionally setting all of these fires. The left has just been desperate to not admit this fact, but now its so bad, and their ‘climate change’ nonsense has just made them look WORSE, that now they’re actually starting to blame the actual cause of arson because that’s the only way left to try and deflect the blame, ‘oh we COULDN’T have been prepared for arsonists!’

Incidentally if you want to look at the current fire map I’ve been looking at this site to make sure it doesn’t get close to my house:

https://app.watchduty.org/i/40398

I believe that will center it pretty close to the fire locations just zoom out a bit and you can see all of it.
