Dana Loesch, conservative star on the rise and host of The Dana Show, interviewed Republican Paul McKinley (IL-02) at CPAC, concluding at the end of the powerful interview, “go and support this man, he just took us to church.”
Loesch and McKinley spoke about the need for 2nd Amendment protections in violence-ridden urban areas such as Chicago, with McKinley pointing out that Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s children are afforded armed guards for their trips to and from school. Protections not available to the thousands of schoolchildren that are not politically connected. McKinley also called on President Obama to return to Chicago, referencing his publicity trip surrounding the murder of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton. “Come on back to Chicago, the problem’s not solved,” said McKinley to Obama.
Finally, McKinley spoke about his motivation for running:
In my community, as well as this whole district, I’ve learned that most of the problems that we have in our community is the illegal and bogus organization called the Machine. And most people don’t even understand I’m using this platform to expose the Machine, to drive a wedge between the public and the Machine. Because most people in the state of Illinois, the Machine has the whole state on lockdown….
All [of them] are Democrats. So you can’t blame the Tea Party for the problems in the state of Illinois. You can’t blame the Republicans for the problems in Illinois. You must put the fault at the pinnacle of responsibility, directly pointing at the Democrats. It is their fault. And the same thing they’re doing in the state of Illinois–now they’re going national.

Thanks for posting this interview. Mr. McKinley needs as much awareness as possible because he isn’t receiving much here outside of the Machine media repeatedly calling him an ex-felon.

If he gets more traction, “someone” is liable to find a “concerned citizen” to come forward and accuse him of something heinous. Hey, look what happened to Herman Cain.
Remember, we’re living in Da Chicago States of America, now.
He admits he made mistakes. He’s paid for them with his liberty. He’s repented. He wants a better future for his community. He marches through the community denouncing the Democrat Machine that has put his community is such a horrible state. As he walks through the neighborhoods, he connects with the people he will serve, if they elect him. In many ways he could be a role model for the GOP to emulate if it is serious about trying to reach the innner cities.
Yet the RNC won’t support him. There’s a reason why they are the Stupid Party.
Sadly, he was at CPAC which means a total black out for any city run by a Democrat. Doesn’t matter that Mr. McKinley is spot on, his message just gain any traction in a Dem-Machine controlled district.
Ah. We have a VP candidate to run with Dr. Carson.
He certainly seems like an impressive fellow.
One message he has that I think would play well in a district that is chronically, economically depressed and troubled: the message of redemption. He sinned and was punished for it, and he’s repented. He’s now out to help others do the same.
In a church-going African-American community that’s a powerful message. I don’t think that alone is enough to beat the Machine, but I’m hoping there’s some traction there.
I do wish the Stupid Party would put some resources into this race. If the GOP doesn’t want to do it directly, do it indirectly with donors, etc. Give this man a chance to do a little direct advertising and to have some semblance of a ground team and he might do well.
Breaching the line of normal Republican politeness (or cowardness) into accusations that “The Machine” is involved in the nastiest of criminal activity … McKinley is a brave and wonderful man.
But indeed Obama is on the attack against Arizona or any that slow illegal immigration. 2000 guns were run to Mexican cartels. Obama likened young gang banger, druggie Trayvon to his own son.
How much of the “redistribution” finds its way to the underworld, where no taxes are paid? And the working clawss has to fund their health care as well.
Obama was mentored by communists, and is transforming us. Real communism to me is just organized crime with government backing, with Orwellian labels on everything. McKinley needs support.
The dems will continue to elect the representatives who will screw them over and give them some more free stuff. They deserve what they have. They voted for it. Too bad WE, THE PEOPLE are dragged down with them.
Cato should put up some $. Where are all the conservative think tanks–they can/should put some time in on this race. Take it to Bathhouse Barry’s front door!
Where are Rush, Laura Ingraham,, Hannity, Levin, Steyn, etc? Money could be coming in from all over, if they would just talk about him!
Talk is cheap but BS is free and that’s the central reason why the GOP leadership is ignoring this race.
The Republicans have a knack for turning victories into defeats due to ignorance, indifference and malpractice…
