Colorado Gov. Jared Polis Dismisses Video Evidence, Local Officials On Violent Illegal Aliens Taking Over Apartment Complex

“Polis dismissed anger over Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua taking over apartment buildings in the Denver suburb of Aurora, calling it ‘imagination’.”

I blogged about the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang taking over an apartment complex in Aurora, Co.

I speculated that “Colorado’s governor — Branch Covidian, gun-grabber, and general tyrant wannabe — Jared Polis will almost certainly tackle this . . . now that it’s gaining negative national attention. He will likely issue a disapproving statement and let this continue.” I was wrong, though he may yet get there.

As of now, he is dismissing the video evidence and reports from local authorities that this even happened.

The New York Post reports:

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis dismissed anger over Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua taking over apartment buildings in the Denver suburb of Aurora, calling it “imagination” — despite video footage, police reports and the city’s mayor confirming it’s happening.

Polis’ press office offered the snarky statement Wednesday night in response to Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky — who told The Post the gang’s takeovers are tied to his policies.

“The Governor has already let the Mayor know that the State is ready to support the local police department with assistance from state troopers and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation if needed,” Shelby Wieman, a spokesperson for the Democratic governor, told The Post.

“But, according to police intelligence this purported invasion is largely a feature of Danielle Jurinsky’s imagination.”

. . . . Despite the governor’s claims, however, the evidence is clear.

On Wednesday night, Fox Denver aired surveillance video that showed an armed gang of men — later confirmed by cops as suspected members of Tren de Aragua — strolling through an apartment complex in Aurora that residents said has been overrun by the gang.

Three of the men could be seen carrying handguns while another held a rifle as they entered the troubled apartment complex, breaking into a unit shortly before a shootout took place at the complex that left one person severely injured.

Further, Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman told Fox News on Thursday that “there are several buildings” that have “fallen to these Venezuelan gangs” in his city.

Coffman said he believes the buildings were used as taxpayer-funded migrant housing, which is what gave the gangs a foothold.

Who are you going to believe? Weak, failed Polis or your lying eyes?

Needless to say, people have thoughts.

Apartment complexes and neighborhoods taken over by gangs and thugs.
Highly stressed schools and medical facilities because of illegals.
Crime increasing and not being prosecuted or reported.

This what you get when you vote Democrat.

Reap what you have sown Colorado.

    Exactly!

I have no empathy for Colorado and their failed leadership. They elected these clowns, they got sanctuary cities, and that is spilling over into the suburbs.

Get off your fat lazy asses voters, and vote the scum out. Until that happens, live with the damage your leaders have given you.

Suck it up buttercups. You earned this.

Of course he does. This cannot end in any other manner. When the public finally objects they’ll be jailed as the insurrectionists they are. The playbook is the playbook.

We know that all Dem areas end up with empty, so why not round up gang members and lock them in a warehouse with Jared Polis?

Why would anyone question the judgement of a man who marries another man, and then adopts two children as slaves to this farcical mockery of marriage?

What really requires imagination is imagining that a gay, gun-grabbing, Jewish Democrat was legitimately elected leader over a once-proud western state.

I get your point, but, I don’t see what Polis’s Jewish faith has to do with anything, and, why it’s included in your description.

A Christian Dhimmi-crat apparatchik (and, as you know, there are plenty of them, in office) is as bad as a Jewish one.

Anything that goes against the demonrat talking points will be treated with disdain and outright contempt. This type of political gaslighting is going to get people killed. (It already is, but I’m speaking to this particular incident) FKH

When the last Republican nominee won CO (Bush by a reasonably comfortable 5-points) in 2004, Denver had roughly 25-murders in the same year. Since then, the closest any GOP candidate has come to winning the state was Mitt Romney…who still lost by 5-points. Trump lost the state in 2020 by 14-points. Three years later, Denver had a record number of murders, an eye-watering 129 with 12 of them being under the age of 17 (all gang-bangers, I believe).

Here’s the interesting part. In 2020, Trump LOST white voters 41-57 which is really unusual considering he only lost white voters in CA by 3-points in 2020. BUT, he still won 43% of non-white voters, which is remarkably strong considering he only won 33% of non-white voters in TX the same year. Colorado is being absolutely destroyed by WHITE liberals (many of whom have moved into the state the last 20-years) and the people paying the biggest price are minority young people, who are killing themselves at an increasing pace.

Also, marijuana wasn’t legal in 2004. Res ipsa loquitur.

Mostly peaceful armed illegals take over apartment building.

Even if one discounts the take over of the building and pretends they’re not armed illegals. THEY”RE STILL A GANG OF ARMED THUGS. Why would anyone but a suicidal imbecile vote democrats into power?

Maybe CO’s armed thugs qualify for Kamala’s “first-generation homebuyer” $25k jackpot. After all, they came here to join the middle class and pursue the American Dream, didn’t they?

Utopia is headed straight for CO. Keep voting’ Dem, CO voters!

‘Remain calm! All is well!’

Vile Polis sounds as off his rocker and brazenly reality-denying as Baghdad Bob.

The Dhimmi-crats are a callous, wretched, evil and contemptible disgrace; as bad as the reality-denying apparatchiks of the Soviet Union.

Poetic justice for this insanity would be Trump-Vance winning Colorado, in November. But, I think the Dhimmi-crat rot still runs deep in that formerly great state, and, there are too many of these fools living there who will deny reality no matter what.

Show this video to any simpleton who asks, “Why would anyone ever need more than six rounds in a handgun?”

We should propose that agents of the Secret Service and U.S. Marshals be restricted to six or seven-round magazines — and then watch how the vile and hypocritical Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks in Congress, the federal courts and the Executive branch react, when their personal safety is on the line.

The despotic and idiotic magazine limit restriction conceit for citizens is an obnoxious statement that the Dhimmi-crats believe the lives of federal judges, members of Congress and the Executive branch are worth more than those of the citizenry.

Justice Thomas eloquently and emphatically made this very point, in so many words, in his dissent to a denial of certiorari (EDWARD PERUTA, ET AL. v. CALIFORNIA, ET AL.; 2017), issued by SCOTUS in a firearms case:

“For those of us who work in marbled halls, guarded constantly by a vigilant and dedicated police force, the guarantees of the Second Amendment might seem antiquated and superfluous. But the Framers made a clear choice: They reserved to all Americans the right to bear arms for self-defense. I do not think we should stand by idly while a State denies its citizens that right, particularly when their very lives may depend on it. I respectfully dissent.”

Long, long ago when the world was new; I grew up in Aurora. This hits home. I know those streets and neighborhoods. And as a long retired Peace Officer of the state of Colorado, I am more than passing familiar with the Leftists running my poor state.

1) Polis and the Left are very much on the side of the army of hostile foreign invaders rather than their own citizens.

2) I would not be surprised if the Left here in Colorado has intentions to use the invaders as a form of Latin American Sturmabteilung.

3) It is quite likely that we are already beyond the point where electoral processes will return this country to what it was. And I have this nasty feeling that the Left that runs all three branches of our state government is telling the City of Aurora and the Counties of Adams and Arapahoe [the counties Aurora is in, and in Colorado the elected County Sheriff is the supreme law enforcement authority in the county including over all local police] to stand down and not oppose anything the invaders do.

Subotai Bahadur

Well-stated, Subotai. My dad and I passed through Aurora while attending a convention, in 2018. We had a few good meals at some excellent local restaurants, and, the impression that I had of the area was of a relatively prosperous suburbia. But, as per usual, the vile and evil Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks corrupt and destroy everything they touch. The anti-Midas effect.

I’ve been in Colorado since 1971. It has a lefty haven for about the last 25 years. Before that, it was purple with many red areas. I moved out of Denver in 1991 and now live at 8000 feet in a quiet place. I worry for my son, though, who attends CU Med in Aurora.
