RFK, Jr. Denounces Totalitarianism That Drove Him Out Of Democratic Party
My take: “It really was a watershed moment, potentially, in how people look at what is happening in our politics and the reality that a lot of us have come to, that there is such a deep corruption that it is almost impossible to have a fair election anymore.”
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s statement today was dramatic and poignant, but also sad, in calling out the primary rigging, lawfare, and manipulation that forced him out of the Democratic Party and off ballots, and installed Kamala Harris as nominee without any voting process.
Here’s an excerpt:
“It ran a sham primary that was rigged to prevent any serious challenge to President Biden. Then, when a predictably bungled debate performance precipitated the palace coup against President Biden, the same, shadowy DNC operatives appointed his successor also without an election they installed a candidate who was so unpopular with voters that she dropped out in 2020 without winning a single delegate. My uncle and my father both relished debate. They prided themselves on their capacity go toe-to-toe with any opponent in the battle over ideas. They would be astonished to learn of a Democratic party presidential nominee who, like Vice President Harris, has not appeared in a single interview or an unscripted encounter with voters for 35 days. This is profoundly undemocratic.”
And another:
“What most alarms me isn’t how the Democratic Party conducts its internal affairs, or runs it candidates. What alarms me is the resort to censorship and media control, and the weaponization of the federal agencies. When a U.S. President colludes with or outright coerces media companies to censor political speech, it is an attack on our most sacred right of free expression, and that’s the very right upon which all of our other constitutional rights rest.”
Here is my hot take:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just gave a blistering speech in which he announced not only that he was backing Donald Trump for the presidency and taking his name off the ballot in 10 crucial swing states, but it was a complete denunciation of a trend in our society that we’ve been talking about at the website for many years. And of course, we’re not the only ones to talk about it, which is the capture of institution, the creeping totalitarianism that has been taking place through lawfare and through deplatforming people and through internet censorship driven by the Democrat Party.
It really was a watershed moment, potentially, in how people look at what is happening in our politics and the reality that a lot of us have come to, that there is such a deep corruption that it is almost impossible to have a fair election anymore.
And that is what he was talking about, how things are manipulated, social media is censored. He is subject to lawfare just like Donald Trump has been subject to endless lawfare, and there is a loss of faith in the system. So I think that what he was pointing out is something we’ve been talking about, but now it’s out front coming from somebody who really can’t be called right wing or whatever.
So this was really sounding the alarm. This was really ripping the mask off the face of our political process. And this was really taking to task the people who are slowly but surely the destroying our democracy. And they’re doing it in the name of what they claim is to preserve democracy. But we know that’s not true.
So I don’t know what difference this will make in the election, but at least the issue is out there.
And if you want to know how corrupt the media is, I spot checked the press coverage at the mainstream outlets before I recorded this.
None of them are really talking about the substance of what he said. None of them are talking about how the process in the Democrat party and primaries was manipulated. None of them are talking about that. They’re all talking about the attacks on him, which have already been launched by family members and others. So this is a wake up call. If we meet the task, that would be great. I’m not convinced it will happen, but nobody can now say they are unaware of the deep corruption in our society, which is being caused by the totalitarian urges of the people who have forced Robert Kennedy Jr. out of the Democratic Party.

I don’t know if this will help or hurt Trump. My concern is that the Democrats have already tried to brand Trump and his supporters as “weird,” which of course is false, But JFK Jr. has stated that Wi-Fi causes cancer and “leaky brains,” that antidepressants are to blame for school shootings, and that chemicals in the water supply could turn children transgender, He made these statements on conservative podcasts, including Elon Musk and Jordan Pertersen. There there’s that whole new story that came out that he ran over a bear and killed it, put it in his car with the intention of skinning it and eating it, but instead decided to bury it in Central Park in New York City and stage it like the bear was killed by a bicyclist.
I don’t think this helps Trump.
Of course you IGNORE everything he said today. A progressive could not have written your comment any better.
“I don’t think this helps Trump.”
Well, you’re a fucking idiot, so this statement from you makes sense.
Also, tell me you didn’t pay attention to the substance of his speech without telling me you didn’t pay attention to the substance of his speech.
You’re still riding the short bus, amirite?
There’s no call for your kind of response on this web site. It is presumed that everybody here is civil and has a grasp of English. Grow up.
I’ve got a better suggestion: if you don’t have the stomach for confronting relentless trolls, then let others do the work for you.
So you consider yourself a “relentless troll”? Are you sure you aren’t aiming too high???
You seem to have misread. The troll in question is JR who, if you’ve been paying attention, has been crop-dusting this site for weeks. .He does the same thing elsewhere. He’s a full-fledged punching bag for most everyone here, with the seeming exception of yourself.
If you think that your presumption of “civility” stands the test when it applies to fake Conservatives and boneheads like JR, you’re sadly mistaken. He should be laughed at and mocked every time he opens his mouth. He’d be laughing at you, right up until the time he helps put you in the boxcar.
In the interests of making an attempt at “civility,” I will offer up an apology for my use of a foul word, but I reject the rest of your comment.
Please feel free to apply the obligatory downvote to any of my posts, and keep scrolling.
That comment was solely to impugn RFK, nothing more, by a person that regularly offers sanctimonious disparagement, especially regarding Trump and supporters.
He pretends that comments here will affect Independent voters and other nonsense so he can scold and virtue signal.
What is civil anyway? These are just words being tossed.
No offense, but in context your comment was more provocative than the rebuttal.
OVERALL IT DOENST HELP TRUMP
it does take away some votes from kamala if he stayed in the race
It’s not a stretch to say antidepressants are dangerous if you look at the science. There’s a black box FDA warning on many of them because they are known to increase the risk of suicide. I believe the thinking is they can also increase risk of homicide, if the teenagers turn those impulses on others instead of on themselves. A jury has in at least once instance found a drug company liable for homicide (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1173337/). Psychiatric drugs also commonly cause brain injuries, and many people who try to stop them suffer severe, protracted withdrawal. Look at the research from Dr. Mark Horowitz who recently co-authored the Maudsley Deprescribing Guidelines. And read the work of Robert Whitaker . When it comes to wifi, studies funded by industry tend to say it’s harmless, while studies by independent researchers suggest otherwise. In the very least, this warrants more research if we’re going to have wifi literally everywhere. As for forever chemicals in water … there’s loads of science about that, too. They mimic estrogen, and can cause hormone imbalances and dysfunction in the body. Maybe it’s affecting trends with regards to transgender identification, maybe not, but it’s not a stretch to see the potential mechanisms. These chemicals are harmful to health in many other ways as well. They shouldn’t be in our water. A lot of conservatives support RFK Jr. because of his stance on these issues. Ironically, progressive Democrats who claim to care about the environment do not. I expect RFK Jr.’s support will help Trump, not hurt him.
this was way too long for JR to process …. and you used too many big words … JR will b sitting in a corner with his Blinky and teddybear ….
You can get a jury to “find” anything is harmful, if you try often enough. It’s almost never true.
“Independent” researchers, my rear end. They’re no more independent than the “studies funded by industry”. If an industry doesn’t research its product you say its negligent, and if it does you dismiss the results!
Kennedy is a total lunatic, but this helps Trump so I’ll take it.
You can dismiss the research if you want. But if psychiatric medications actually work, then after decades of prescribing them, mental illness diagnoses should be lower than ever. Disability rates for mental health conditions should be lower than ever. Instead, both have been increasing by quite a lot year after year. Robert Whitaker’s books Mad in America and Anatomy of an Epidemic shared drug company data secured with FOIA requests, revealing that the pharma companies’ own research supports that these drugs are harmful, with some causing permanent brain damage. Not to mention many other serious health issues. The serotonin/chemical imbalance theory of depression was debunked decades ago and there’s never been evidence to support it. Antidepressants are linked to dementia, heart disease, autonomic dysfunction, and many other health issues. Many of the drugs can cause tardive dyskinesia, which a permanent brain injury manifesting as Parkinson’s symptoms. (But don’t worry, the drug companies have come up with new drugs to treat THAT.) You think the propaganda of the Democrats and mainstream media is bad … it’s tame compared to the propaganda of drug companies and mainstream medicine.
Kennedy may be wrong on many things, but he’s right on enough important issues affecting the future of this country — and I can’t think of anything more important than the health of its citizens — that I’m glad he’s brought these issues to national attention for further scrutiny and debate.
I am agreeing with you, not because I have any idea if your conclusion is correct, but because we should be able to discuss anything. RFKJr does sometimes seem like a flake … but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t be right once in a while. Air it out and we’ll see.
Speaking as somebody who has tried antidepressants in the past, I will say this: I think that with rare exception they should not be prescribed. I found them to be evil. I still wonder to this day that, even though I’ve been off of them for 5 years, if they haven’t done some sort of damage to me.
Antidepressants most certainly retire the brain and these children on them are having many problems, many, it’s a travesty amd
Certainly leads to the behavior we have seen exhibited in these shooters.. and it’s a common thread
That was rewire, but phones gunna do what a phones gunna do
So… did he run over a bear in New York City… or did he gave it a road trip into town, like Weekend at Bernie’s?
The branding as weird is not resonating from what I see.
I stopped after your first claim about leaky brains as it was obviously intended to make RFK, Jr out to be a crank. If that is so then why did he win a court case in 2021 against the FCC over just exactly that?
He is a crank. Out of the dozens of cases his organization has filed, he partially won one case, on what appears to be a technicality. Two out of three judges found that the FCC hadn’t adequately explained its decision, so it had to provide a more detailed explanation. That’s all.
The underlying claims, like every single claim RFK has ever championed, were pure junk.
“every single claim RFK has ever championed, were pure junk.”
Yet everything some say are the gospel, especially in their own minds. They should respect their own standards for others.
Thank you, Judge Engoron!
You made almost the exact same post over at Althouse, “lonejustice.”
You get pilloried there just as bad as you do here.
You’re usually mockingly referred to as a “Life Long Republican.”
Are you a closet masochist who just enjoys getting railed?
You criticize Trump more for the people who endorse him than Kamala for who she picks to be Vice President. The TDS is strong in you.
RFK is weird to you, but the democrat vice presidential candidate who put tampons in the boys room and lies about literally everything is normal?
“[…] there is such a deep corruption that it is almost impossible to have a fair election anymore.”
Neither Biden nor Harris hold their offices legitimately, they were stolen from the American people in the dead of night when all counting stopped and just enough ballots in just the right places gave Biden the “win”.
As shaky as Biden’s claim to the office is Harris’s is exponentially worse. No one voted for her.
No one.
I have my axe to grind with RFK, Jr. (his take on agriculture is even more loopy than Al Gore’s) but some of what he says makes sense.
To the extent that he can keep the Marxist out of the White House, I appreciate what he did today.
I feel this may help Trump to the extent that RFK, Jr. is neither Trump nor a Republican, and that at least a few people on the Democrat side of the aisle may listen to what he has to say, rather than automatically tuning him out as they do to any Republican.
If RFK, Jr. brings attention to the Democrat Party’s corruption and willful disregard of our country’s founding principles, a reasonably significant number of Democrat voters who otherwise would have remained ignorant may come to understand just how awful their party really is.
Time will tell.
It also might make a few people think, “Say, if Trump was really Hitler, RFK JR. wouldn’t support him.”
Anyone who is willing to open their eyes and ears will acknowledge the degradation RFK was talking about. There is now an existention threat to the country. Hopefully, he liberals who remain Democrats will realize the danger before it’s too late.
Forget all this newfangled Black Girl Magic and Midwest Dad Energy — RFKJ’s got the genuine Kennedy Mystique, and this speech must be killing the old proggies like a bleeding ulcer.
He outlined the lawfare unleashed on him. So we have arguments about ranked choice, but the Dems were trying to not have any choice on the ballot that might hurt them…. lawfare.
Only Nixon could go to China. Only RFK-Jr could go to Trump. Some hyperbole there but sadness in seeing someone finally understand …. somewhat… how things are.
the dems have always been pro government over the people
so I am not sure why there is some “nostalgic” twinkle in the eyes
maybe its b/c so many ,,when younger,, sided with the dems as the dems took up the mantle of :helping” blacks
WHEN IN REALITY they were just playing the poc like they do today
be our street armies and we will “feed the community”
so your own idealism that sided with the dems “back in the day”
was just naive ,,,not thinking you were doing wrong
same way (some) of todays dems think they are fighting for justice when in reality…… they are merely causing more damage to the usa
Suing to get him off the ballot isn’t anti-democratic. Arrow’s theorem proves that there’s no fair election system, meaning any system can be gamed. What games ours is a third party candidate to split the vote of the majority side., giving the election to the less popular candidate. So it’s something but not anti-democratic. Not sportsmanlike perhaps, a rule violation.
In a democratic system you want the majority to win though.
Of course it’s anti-democratic to use lawfare. Gaming the system is anti-democratic.
You are too smart by half.
you dont understand the importance of the electoral college?
if that 3rd party is THAT STRONG
than THAT IS THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE
and is completely legit
even if I dont like the end results
Candidates A and B favor policy P, which policy is favored by a majority of the voters, say 60%
Candidate C does not favor P, a position of the minority of voters, here 40%
A and B split the P vote 30% each, leaving C with a majority at 40%, and C wins the election, even though opposed by 60%.
In fact, that is exactly how Bill Clinton won the first time.
You just described how Murkowski in Alaska got into office with ranked choice voting.
and how Palin was denied a House seat up there.
No, he didn’t. On the contrary, ranked choice gets rid of that problem. Nobody can win without majority support. Palin lost because a solid majority of voters preferred the Democrat to her.
Women did not like the sexy, exhuberant Palin.
Which is why our Founding Fathers were wise enough to split power amongst three branches, and the strongest branch is split into two sub branches with lots of various members. Candidate C is not a caudillo.
Which has absolutely no connection to the topic of how any member of any branch should be chosen.
Complaints about lawfare and censorship from somebody who can’t be dismissed as right wing is good, though.
agree
THAT PART we will accept from him
Which contradicts your very first assetion that “suing to get him off the ballot isn’t anti-democratic.”
People can define words as they choose, but the meaning he conveyed was quite clear, and accurate.
So what was your point again?
the kennedy name is just slightllllyyyy less tarnished than the clinton name
some kennedy holdouts probably like those japanese soldiers who stayed hiding in the caves not realizing that ww2 had ended years ago
kennedy should be on a tight leash
VIVEK should be sec of state and hold any press conferences trump cant attend to
Look at any dystopian novel about the future and the Democrats are that totalitarian institution seeking to remake society in its perverse image.
RFK Jr. endorsing Trump is hardly a surprise to me. He said the other day that most of his views line up with what his uncle and father believed. Given that Trump was a Democrat for a very long time, I suspect his views also line up with those of JFK and RFK pretty well. It is the Democraic Party that has taken a giant leap leftward – the Republican Party not so much. I also suspect that neither JFK nor RFK would think that Harris was qualified to be more than an intern, perhaps with a blue dress.
I think the best analogy is Orwell 1984. It’s laughable Democrats are touting to care about freedom. To them freedom is doing and thinking what they demand via regulations and control. You can be truly free if you obey their totalitarian dictates.
Freedom is Slavery
2+2=5
Men are Women
This will also take a lot of wind out of their sails, post-dnc.
Apologies. I mentioned this below before seeing your post.
Stop referring to Dems as “liberals”. Dems are leftists, controlled by the Party Elites. It is not a “Big Tent” party any more.
Hear, hear!
Democrat party ( Pelosi and pals ) – the party of corruption, big tech, big pharma, big donors, endless wars …
This is huge. The RFKjr announcement completely took the wind out of the sails of the Democratic National Convention hype. Love it!
But….Beyonce!!!!
I am willing to bet that the invites
for Robert Kennedy Jr. to the
Kennedy compound will be few and
far between.
I’ve not been impressed by certain Kennedy family members’ virulence against RFKJr. Demonstrates a lack of tact and comp0sure. No one should publicly throw a family member under the bus. It’s unseemly and reflects badly on the “thrower”. Certain Kennedy family members seem intent on their own careers in the Democratic party, relatives be damned.
I doubt the majority of voters who support RFK, Jr will vote for Trump. I think they won’t vote for Harris either.
The interesting part is that RFK Jr is only taking his name off of the swing state ballots. He is staying on the ballot in blue states. In the swing states there are lots of voters who backed RFK Jr because of his stance on vaccines / big pharma. FKH
In solid blue states, like the one I live in (mail-in only voting) Trump can’t conceivably win, so whether or not RFK, Jr is on the ballot is immaterial to conservatives. Kommie Kamala is the choice of the I-5 corridor.
I wish we had some version of the county-based electoral college for state level voting, so that the one large city didn’t rule over us red peasants outside the urban areas.
RFK himself could have as easily uttered the words.
Progressives, and especially people with TDS, cannot see It’s not even about Trump. They just don’t get it. And that is the problem.
I am very glad to have RFKJr declare for Trump. And, frankly, I’m impressed that Trump is learning the art of politics! He’s now chosen a VP who keeps the press busy chasing him instead of Trump, he’s made up with Governor Kemp, and now he’s welcomed a former rival into the fold. Wow. However … I doubt most Democrat lemmings will ever listen to RFKJr’s speech or read any substantive reporting on it. They voted for Obama so they could say they voted for the first black American president. They voted for Biden because … because … because he wasn’t Trump. Now they are supporting a candidate no one actually voted for. They have simply been given the next token US president, and they are meekly following orders. These are not people who are going to question their betters. They are nice little minions who will simply do what is required of them by their betters. (PS – these are the most educated, sophisticated voters in the world. It’s enough to turn you off education and sophistication.)
RFK probably has published comments on 300+ environmental and health issues. He has been a force for the public good on a large number. In a rational world, he should be permitted a few outliers. Harris has been wrong on just about everything ( not accepting as believable her 5 or 6 recent recantations to correspond with Trump positions).
No, he has not been a force for the public good. He’s been a force for public lunacy and fearmongering, and for massive overregulation. If he has ever been right about anything (and that’s doubtful), that was an outlier, on the principle of blind pigs and acorns.
Still, he has some supporters, who are probably as lunatic as him, and it’s likely that some of them will vote for Trump if he asks them too, so I’ll take it.
