ABC News Moves 15-Minute, Pre-Taped Biden Interview To Friday Primetime

ABC News Moves 15-Minute, Pre-Taped Biden Interview To Friday Primetime

It won’t help. And may well make things worse for Team Biden.

Amid conflicting reports that Joe “I am the Democratic Party” Biden knows he has limited time to prove he’s currently fit for office, let alone for a grueling campaign and four more years, and that Weekend at Joey’s has no intention of abandoning his presidential campaign, Team Biden turned to Democrat insider and former Bill Clinton staffer George Stephanopoulos to help prop him up in an undoubtedly friendly and, notably, pre-taped interview.

How they think that doing an interview that is not live and unedited will alleviate any doubts—or even a single doubt—about Biden’s cognitive impairments is beyond me, but here we are.

Apparently, the edits are expected to go well because instead of trickling out the interview in parts before airing the whole thing on Sunday morning, ABC News has announced that it will be airing the entire pre-taped interview on Friday night.

Variety reports:

George Stephanopoulos’ coming interview with President Biden is too hot to delay.

ABC News said it will move an interview between the anchor and President Joe Biden to Friday evening, rather than waiting until Sunday morning as previously planned, a sign of the extreme interest in seeing the Commander-in-Chief address issues of physical and mental fitness in the wake of a poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump last week. The interview is the first Biden has granted to a mainstream national news outlet since the debate performance.

Stephanopoulos is expected to talk to President Biden earlier in the day Friday from the campaign trail in Wisconsin. The first clip of the interview will air on Friday’s broadcast of “World News Tonight” as planned, then in a primetime special at 8 p.m. eastern, and, subsequently, Sunday during “This Week,” where it was to have first surfaced in completed form.

Additionally, it is being widely reported that the “full” interview will be only 15 minutes long. I hope this is untrue, but I rather think it is.

The Daily Beast reports (archive link):

Joe Biden’s “extended” interview with George Stephanopolous, intended to jumpstart a comeback for the embattled president, will last as little as 15 minutes, the Daily Beast has learned.

. . . . But The Daily Beast has learned that behind the scenes there is deep concern inside ABC News’ upper echelons that Stephanopolous could get as little as 15 minutes to conduct what should be a searching interview offering insight into the president’s mental state.

ABC News earlier declined to comment on the length of the interview. The Biden campaign denied the suggestion when questioned by The Daily Beast, while a White House spokesperson said it was “False. The interview will be longer.”

While there is no agreement between ABC News and the White House on exactly how long Biden spends with the veteran interviewer, the logistics of conducting it during campaign stops could limit it severely. Senior network figures were involved in calls Wednesday to prepare questions for the shortest time in case attempts to speak with the president for longer failed.

One source suggested it would be more in the range of 20 minutes—still a relatively short period of time for even an accomplished interviewer to cover questions both over Biden’s cognitive state and his ability to stay in the campaign.

A whole 15-20 minutes? Of pre-taped, undoubtedly heavily-edited material will quell exactly no one’s fears, concerns, or doubts about Biden’s fitness for office. It will actually make things worse for Team Biden.

Needless to say people have thoughts.

Interesting. Where has Hillary been over the past week? Oddly quiet.

Interesting.. TY Fuzzy.

For George it all boils down to an old adage.. something about dogs not biting the hand that feeds them. The thing is.. I don’t think the hand belongs to Biden.. Either way, that will be an interview as much as the debate was a debate. Hopefully, with a similar outcome.. Trump wins.

Isn’t it amazing how STUPID the left views all us AMERICANS?? Now I admit that there are MANY stupids among us, but even most of them have been to a grocery store, gas station, or watched news about the absolute FAILURE of the biden bunglers! OR, maybe it’s their GOAL to DESTROY AMERICA? He didn’t win in 2020 and should be absolutely trounced in ’24 – if he lives long enough to fake another run!

Will there be any honest observers to ensure no teleprompters are involved in this interview/propaganda?

Geez oh fucking Lou.
This is worse than when the Democrats killed Kennedy.

One was full of life and they extinguished it.
The other is dead and they’re trying to resurrect it.

Last night they bought in some democrat governors to look at the corpse and they came out praising how lively it looks with new glass eyes and orange make up.

George S. is already looking over his shoulder for fat, sweaty Texans in Cavanagh fedoras.

Georgie is White House Hospice Care, not Seal Team Six.

“the logistics of conducting it during campaign stops could limit it severely”

lol.

Paula in reply to Tiki. | July 4, 2024 at 9:59 am

They already enquired about taking Joe to hospice and the hospice told them, “We don’t take cadavers. The morgue is across the street.”

An edited interview will confirm what we know, that China Joe* is unfit. An unedited one where he’s coherent will, temporarily, quiet the mutineers in the Democrat party. Unedited where he’s less than coherent and it is open season on the Democrat nomination.

    henrybowman in reply to rbj1. | July 4, 2024 at 6:33 pm

15 minutes? If George interviewed him for six hours and cut out all the unintelligible parts, that would be about right.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to henrybowman. | July 4, 2024 at 8:32 pm

What are the chances that in fact they have created a set to match where the interview was supposed to be, and the interview has been “done” all day today and tonight and will be edited to a fair-thee-well tomorrow? That might give them time to create something that might kinda-sorta pass for 15 minutes.

      Subotai Bahadur

When you pull the plug, you use the gentlest nurse.

It was an hour tape that was edited down to the best 15 minutes. After the interview, Jill took Joe’s hand and said you, “Were you able to see the teleprompter okay? Oh good. Let me help you down the steps.”

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Paula. | July 4, 2024 at 10:58 am

I imagine the juimp-cuts mid-sentence, the sudden slight variation in lighting or camera angles, and little differences in sound will be quite noticeable.

henrybowman in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | July 4, 2024 at 6:45 pm

“it will be airing the entire pre-taped interview on Friday night.”
And, unlike the average Supreme Court opinion, you can bank on there being absolutely NO leaks before its airtime.

I’ve already seen all I need to I won’t be watching this staged interview on Friday

E Howard Hunt | July 4, 2024 at 9:52 am

This charade reminds me of the Nazi propaganda film, Theresienstadt. It depicted a Jewish concentration camp as a paradise on earth.

So many moving players involved in this fiasco. I used to think they all were on the same team:

DNC
Biden, his family and closest advisers
The campaign staff
The media

All were content to promulgate The Big Lie (the denial of Brandon’s dementia). Until the debate laid bare their combined treachery.

So now is it every man for himself? Bayonets out? Or are they all coming together for a last ditch effort to resuscitate Biden’s flailing campaign?

Of course the underlying issue is that all regard Trump being back in the White House as a catastrophe of the highest order.

All have repeatedly made the same monumental mistake: underestimating the intelligence of the American people. In addition, another group they must consider is the Donors. These Mega Donors didn’t become super wealthy by being stupid. If the money stops flowing in it’s game over.

The media has had a serious credibility problem for years, exacerbated now by Joey’s “horror show” (per Bernstein) debate performance which revealed the media’s complicity in the cover up. The donors and the American voters will not be satisfied with a pre-recorded interview with a partisan hack on ABC.

They think we voters are stupid. Xiden’s debate performance won’t be memory holed by a scripted and edited performance with a long time scummy political hack as his costar. I wonder if ABC was paid to do this.

    We are

    1073 in reply to JimWoo. | July 4, 2024 at 5:31 pm

It will be Biden or Harris.
    1) The $200M account of already raised donated money is in THEIR names. It can be moved around with difficulty, but it requires BOTH of them to say so.

    2) They only have 10 more days before their mini DNC pre convention via Zoom. That is required so they can put SOMEONE’S name on the ballot in Ohio.

    3) Who wants to be the sacrifice? Some Dems mad at dumping Biden. Some Dems mad at being lied to. Lots of Dems mad at dumping Harris. Permanently having large Dem groups hate you for life, or just wait for 2028?

As it is, dumping Joe for Kamala demands the question “If he is incompetent in November, why do you think he is competent today”?

I have watched two, unedited, no script/notes interviews with Pres. Trump, and he talks like he is in his 40’s. Dr. Phil’s being the most notable, along with the post interview analysis.

There is no comparison. None.

Pres. Trump should demand his own camera at this cheap fake “interview” to ensure an unedited version. Biden can have his own camera at events for Pres. Trump if he likes.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Dimsdale. | July 4, 2024 at 11:01 am

    How about this? How about Trump’s campaign team make a HUGE ad buy and sponsor the running of this recorded* interview? ;-{)}}}

    *It is “recorded”, not “pre-recorded”.

    -signed- the frustrated grammarian

Eh. I think we need a word like “pre-recorded”, because we’re trying to distinguish it from a live interview that is also recorded and later rebroadcast unedited.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to clintack. | July 4, 2024 at 5:45 pm

Embrace the power of “was”. “The preceding program was recorded”,

Or, that quaint but lovely old expression from radio broadcasting: the preceding was transcribed.

I think it means something like:
“I was for it before I was against it”

      A rough translation::
“I recorded it before I made a recording of the recording.”

      The actual meaning:
“The final product will be a copy of a copy of a copy.”

Yesterday I was convinced Stephi was being sent out to put Biden down. But, after watching the Dem governors yesterday and the media last night, I think they may actually be set on keeping Biden. If they weren’t, their co-conspirators at ABC would have insisted the interview air live or live-to-tape, which is when the interview airs in its entirety and completely unedited. The last time I can remember a network doing that was during the Gary Condit/Connie Chung interview back in 2001.

If they’re really keeping Biden, they must have concluded that Harris is so much worse. And honestly, that may be right. When the Chinese say, “May you live in interesting times,’ it’s intended as a curse. What’s playing out right now demonstrates that point. Not sure it’s possible for this election to get anymore ‘interesting.’

TargaGTS in reply to TargaGTS. | July 4, 2024 at 11:10 am

And as soon as I say that, the Boston Globe publishes an editorial telling Biden to get out. Maybe there really is chaos in their party right now.

Paula in reply to TargaGTS. | July 4, 2024 at 11:14 am

“If they’re really keeping Biden, they must have concluded that Harris is so much worse.”

Slow Joe is under control. Bareass Harris is a wild card.

Paula in reply to Paula. | July 4, 2024 at 11:23 am

      That is their consensus.

But Joe is the real wild card. He doesn’t have many miles left. He’s liable to melt down, stroke out or kick the bucket at any moment.

clintack in reply to TargaGTS. | July 4, 2024 at 11:52 am

I’m actually starting to think the election is going to be uninteresting, by the time we get there. The dems will realize they don’t have a good path to replacing their candidate, Trump will win on election night before we all go to bed, and the deep state will have months to shred documents and wipe hard drives (like with a cloth or something) and life will go on.

Who benefits from propping Biden up?

I do not know the answer to that.

TargaGTS in reply to Petrushka. | July 4, 2024 at 11:12 am

    Obama.

PrincetonAl in reply to TargaGTS. | July 4, 2024 at 2:34 pm

I think Obama knows Biden will lose and wants to pick his replacement. I do not want him to pick that replacement because he is savvier politically than most of them.

Kamala benefits, because she will get the promotion if he stays in.

bev in reply to Petrushka. | July 4, 2024 at 12:27 pm

Well, if they succeed and Joey remains the candidate, Trump does.

I can only imagine all the campaign ads that will air prior to early voting in swing states, the material furnished by Joe in the debate. They practically write themselves.

Here’s one: Biden saying no troops died on his watch —- cut to flag-draped transfer cases —- cut to Biden looking at his watch.

(Oh, wait! Maybe that’s what he meant by no American troops dying on his watch!)

stevewhitemd | July 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

I’m pleased that ABC is doing this. I’m pleased with the way ABC is doing this.

Are they propping up Slow Joe? You bet they are. It’s Weekend at Bernies all the way to November.

And that’s good. Americans have seen Slow Joe for what he is. Attempts to prop him up will fail.

More importantly, it will stop, for just long enough, all the attempts to replace Slow Joe. Governors Newsom, Hochul, and Whitmer; Michelle Obama; Bernie Sanders; and the rest (Kamala doesn’t count) — all must wait. They aren’t being invited to be the nominee. No, it’s Slow Joe.

And that’s the best news Donald Trump could have.

I like the fact that his 5 second youtube ad asking for money has 5 cuts in it. Now they have Barry doing the ad.

He must have done well, or else tbey wouldn’t have placed it in prime time

Its all scripted and edited. ABC with the fake news brand.

henrybowman in reply to smooth. | July 4, 2024 at 6:39 pm

    ABC is better at it.
CBS would have just stuck an “incendiary device” up his butt to energize him.

Will the actually be a Disney created CGI event? Maybe send the feed direct to a Disney Studio for processing first then sent back to ABC for broadcast purposes.

Biden is an empty vessel, to be filled with leftist policies.

Biden only has to live long enough for the left to drag him across the finish line. Then he can be replaced with different empty vessel, kamala.

>> The interview is the first Biden has granted to a mainstream national news outlet since the debate performance. <<

read: ABC was the one who charged the least to agree to their demands. You know it is bad when NPR isn't the low-bidder.

Just want to point out something: ABC now has a blackmail tape of POTUS. The *before* editing tape is most likely filled with all kinds of things the current administration doesn’t want the public to see, and that tape is sitting in their hot little hands. Smart cameramen will have made their own personal copy. Smart editors would have made their own personal copy. And so on, unless ABC held administrative control over the process like it was classified Top Secret.

Looking forward to a leak. Hopefully.

biogen: we have cured alzheimers

domino voting machines: we’re not your fathers voting machines

I can’t imagine how they could get 15 clean, presentable minutes of interview with Biden and George.
Best of 10 attempts?
And transcripts…
We need an interpreter when Joe speaks.
Half of his vocabulary is alien to the entire universe.
Imagine the transcription team ( They’d need a team )
” What was that word.. how should we spell it? ”

Get the popcorn….

I guess if I were running the show, I’d have George do 14 1/2 minutes of talking out of 15….

ChrisPeters | July 4, 2024 at 2:11 pm

Stephanapoulos is weasel.

The fact that ABC has him on as some sort of “journalist” is utterly ridiculous. He is a partisan Democrat, through and through.

Upon consideration…

Strategy is everything.
And, this one is sublime.

George Stephanopoulos, I believe is the heavyweight of the Democrat PR department. None are better credentialed or battle-tested. Absolutely reliable.

I still remember his Clinton days. He was fantastic.
( Oh my God! Bill… ANOTHER FLOOZIE??? Holy Cow. Okokok…. lemme’ see… arightee.. I ‘ll spin this one off to the left corner pocket… )

And the whole time he was on air, his hair was sticking up in all directions and his eyes were half-wild and jiggling around…

I saw pure talent. I am still amazed how great a job he did with the pressure, creativeness and presentations.

He could only take it so long. The job was crazy.

George is the best they got. Seasoned, and respected. Tested by fire.

I am gonna’ go racing out on a limb here, over thin ice, with a bag of bricks.

I don’t believe even George can pull off a save this time.

Nope, to the contrary:
It’s going to be a clean kill, and George is the hit-man.

The entire Democrat Machine is in complete distress.
They absolutely have to eliminate Biden.

There is no time to be lost in order for them to be able to haphazardly paste together some kind of ticket that even distantly resembles coherency.

I predict this is the killing blow.

At least 45 minutes of taping to get fifteen relatively cogent minutes.

Unfortunately, women still prefer Mummified Man over Bad Orange Man because ABORTION!!! REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS!!! OUR DEMOCRACY!!!

Never mind inflation, illegals flooding the country, crime, and the wars caused by his utter fecklessness. What matters is the ability to get an abortion anytime anywhere.

And who cares that Buy-Dumb has violated his oath of office to open the border and defied SCOTUS rulings. Bad Orange Man is the real threat to “Our Democracy” 🙄

This may be a deliberate ‘coup de mort’ for the Biden re-election campaign.
It may also serve as evidence that “the media is unbiase”.

Moving it from Stephanopoulos’ normal slot on Sunday morning where everyone would expect to see it, to Friday evening of the 4th of July weekend. Sounds more like they’re trying to minimize the audience than the opposite.

The first excerpt from the interview is now available.
It appears my instincts are correct.
George is the Executioner.
