After the 2016 election, a group of black teens in Chicago were arrested after they tortured a disabled white boy, apparently for the crime of being white. To make matters worse, they streamed video of the attack on social media, where people could be heard yelling “F” white people.
We covered the story when it broke. We also followed the case and were shocked when one of the women involved got probation.
Now the ringleader has been released from prison.

A Chicago thug who in 2017 tortured a disabled teen while his friend gleefully streamed it live on social media — explicitly saying it was because they hated whites and Donald Trump — was released from prison this week, having served less than seven years of his eight-year hate-crime sentence.
Jordan Hill left the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections on Tuesday, according to records obtained by The Daily Wire. In January 2017, Hill, Tesfaye Cooper, and Brittany and Tanishia Covington kidnapped a mentally disabled 18-year-old and laughed as they tortured him, including making him drink out of a toilet.
Hill used a stolen van to kidnap the victim and held him in captivity there for three days before driving him to the Covingtons’ apartment, where they tied him up…
Hill was 18 and knew the victim, who was the same age, from school. Cooper and Brittany Covington were also 18 while her sister Tanishia was 24…

They beat him, sliced his scalp, made him drink out of a toilet and say "F- white people" and "F- Trump." Charged with 50 felonies, a Chicago judge let them plead guilty to 2 charges and gave no jail time at all to 1 of the 4. Jordan Hill received the longest sentence at 8 years.

While purported hate crimes like Jussie Smollett's gripped the nation, this one was real. The thugs all had prior brushes with the law. Yet the punishment for an actual violent racial hate crime was not far off from the one given to a guy who made memes about Hillary Clinton.

I had envisioned a large wood chipper when this gang first appeared and imagined them all being thrown into it, one at a time. This proves that there is no justice any longer and to think that this creature will be back on the streets of Chicago is an indictment of the government that they have there. How could any normal person sitting on a parole board think that this monster should be freed early? I am beginning to wonder if Chicago has any normal people left.

Compare and contrast the treatment of the J6 people who did in fact ( according to the charging doc) did nothing wrong.
This sort of disparity in relative punishment is not simply wrong but corrosive. It’s based, as far as I can tell, on the idea of matching level of punishment to levels of expected behavior of the defendant. So if a middle-class person commits X crime and a person from a ‘disadvantaged socioeconomic’ group commits X crime the result is higher punishment for the middle-class person. Members of the upper class pseudo aristocracy get a minor slap on the wrist or skate.
This has been going on for decades. We see the same foolishness in K-12. At every turn people from a ‘disadvantaged socioeconomic’ group are being informed by the actions of our society that they are not fully accountable b/c why exactly? The leftists who infiltrated our systems and institutions to warp them don’t like to admit that part. IMO the leftists believe these groups are unable to meet a common standard. That members of these groups, with rare exceptions, are a distinct ‘other’ which the leftists coddle because they view them as infantile. IOW it’s the d/prog refusing to stray very far from their racist roots.

What if it was 1723 instead of 2023.
And what if it was a village in Africa bordering the Atlantic Ocean instead of Chicago bordering Lake Michigan.
And imagine these four young adult offenders are locked up in your West African village jail. For approximately same crimes.
And now the village elders are trying to decide what to do about these four young adult offenders — when a European ship appears just off shore.
And the folks in that European ship offer to pay your village a reasonable sum in exchange for any four young adults — two male, two female.
If you’re the village elders, what would you do

And by exiling these four young adult trouble-makers, they can never harm anyone in your village ever again.
Plus, these Europeans pay you and your village to take these miscreants off your hands.
In their case … as in many others … behavior correction is simple … if ineffective … other solutions are ample and easily applied … I’ll leave it to your imagination …
Just looking at reality, all of them will fit right in to modern Chicago upon release with no changes in their behavior. They will continue harming the weak and innocent until they run up against someone meaner and faster. And somehow their fates will all be judged the fault of the evil white man.
