Sen. Menendez Will Not Resign Despite Federal Bribery Indictments

Sen. Menendez Will Not Resign Despite Federal Bribery Indictments

“I will continue to cast votes on behalf of the people of New Jersey as I have for 18 years.”

More and more Democrats have called on Sen. Bob Menendez (NJ) to resign after the feds indicted him on federal bribery and corruption charges.

Menendez and his wife pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Menendez told the Democratic Senate Caucus he will not resign:

“I will continue to cast votes on behalf of the people of New Jersey as I have for 18 years,” Menendez said as he exited the lunch. “I think Schumer may need those votes, he’ll be looking forward for me to cast them.”

I am glad Menendez is not resigning. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I’m tired of people losing their jobs based on accusations and allegations.

Until you are convicted of a crime, nothing should happen to you.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said that’s what Menendez spoke about at the lunch: “I think he made his point, he delivered it very well. Basically the whole theme of everything was every American is innocent until proven guilty, giving the benefit of the doubt.”

From the indictment:

From at least 2018 up to and including in or about 2022, MENENDEZ and his wife, NADINE MENENDEZ, a/k/a “Nadine Arslanian,” the defendant, engaged in a corrupt relationship with three New Jersey associates and businessmen—WAEL HANA, ida “Will Hana,” JOSE URIBE, and FRED DAIBES, the defendants—in which MENENDEZ and NADINE MENENDEZ agreed to and did accept hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes in exchange for using MENENDEZ’s power and influence as a Senator to seek to protect and protect HANA, URIBE, and DAIBES and to benefit the Arab Republic of Egypt. Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value.

I believe that Menendez is guilty, but he is entitled to the presumption of innocence at this time.

Not his first time though and the others were politically buried rather than adjudicated.

You extend him whatever you want. I’ll treat the piece of garbage just like he treats the folks on our side of the aisle. Guilty until he proves himself innocent.

He actually stressed waiting until all the facts were in and the impeachment of Trump before jumping to conclusions. His last business with the eye doctor in Florida was corrupt as heck. This doesn’t look good but I’ll wait for the trial.

Don’t know the particulars of the charges but the DOJ has become even dirtier than the time of his first prosecution so who knows how this will play out in our new banana republic courts.

Menendez should have cut in Hunter early on. If so, the DOJ would be slow-walking this and sitting on evidence. Hunter coulda’ been Menendez’s ticket. What was he thinking?

Why should he resign? He won last time they rolled the dice coming after him.

On the other hand, the powers that be in the Dem party hadn’t slipped their loaded dice in last time.

but the allegations alone got him banned from Youtube right? right?

Everyone Democrat is innocent until proven guilty [and generally not even then, unless it’s time to throw him under the bus].

FIFY

The country has been brainwashed by all the scum ball lawyers making like theirs is some noble profession. This crook enjoys the presumption of innocence only in regard to his liberty being taken away in a criminal proceeding. People can make their own determinations for their own purposes, utilizing whatever information and thought process they choose. If I determine to my satisfaction that a man is a crook, I will shun him and traduce him, regardless of what the legal circus finds. Likewise, if a man be convicted in a trendy legal witch-hunt, I will support him.

Oh, so indictments are no big deal now? Great! Trump 2024!!!

It’s a mixed bag. The Senate is like a hundred speeding cars but the trooper locked onto Menendez.
