Hundreds of Albuquerque Residents Protest New Mexico Governor’s Gun Emergency Order
“We are a beacon of hope because we actually protect individual freedoms.”
Hundreds of residents in Old Town Albuquerque brought out their guns and openly carried them in protest against New Mexico’s stupid gun emergency health order.
KRQE reported that “dozens” showed up to the rally, but in the next paragraph, it admitted over a hundred people participated:
Dozens of people protested in Albuquerque Sunday with guns in hand. They’re claiming the governor is overstepping her authority after that public health order banning guns in public spaces in Bernalillo County.
More than 100 people showed up in Old Town Sunday to protest the governor’s order, which is a 30-day ban on carrying a gun in public spaces in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.
In protest, gun owners had their firearms on full display. Many expressed their frustration and anger towards the new order.
It’s gorgeous to watch!

KRQE admitted it did not see any police in the area. Therefore, the police did not intervene or enforce the stupid order.
“This governor has overstepped her bounds, twice now, big time, with squashing our constitutional rights, and it’s time for it to stop,” said protester Jerry Morgan.
“We are a beacon of hope because we actually protect individual freedoms,” said protester Corine Rios.
Many protesters said they will continue to carry their firearms on them in Bernalillo County despite the public health order. The protest was peaceful and wrapped up around 3 p.m.

It’s an executive order and unconstitutional thus not a law and not necessary to comply!
Have you ever noticed that Dems seem to rise to imperial power once elected to any office? They look at the Constitution as obama did when he called it a doormat.
Time for another viewing of Overview of America,

Obama changed the rules from equal justice under the law to reward your friends and punish your enemies.
He and Holder combined Marxist doctrine with Chicago political machine tactics.
She needs to be politically pounded into the ground. I am not advocating violence, but there needs to be such a groundswell of outrage that no other politician will even think about following in her footsteps.
The CDC tried to associate gun crime with ‘public health’. Sorry, guns are not a ‘disease’, and any attempt to link guns to disease is mendacious and cannot be allowed to stand.
Erronius
She needs to be charged with a couple of federal felonies.
Do you really think that the crooks at the pedophile’s Department of Justice would do such a thing?
It’s been suggested that a claim be lodged against her surety bond for practicing medicine without a license. Any citizen can lodge such a claim, and if many do so, the bond is overwhelmed.
Grisham is term limited. What does she care about your vague “pound into the ground.”?
By not announcing that they wouldn’t enforce such a plainly unconstitutional order from the governor, the local police really missed an opportunity to both build some goodwill and defuse any tensions that may have been heightened.
I’m really surprised the cops didn’t “follow orders”, especially a force with its record of violence toward all races.
I think the brass is waiting to catch individuals carrying, not large armed groups.
That is always an advantage of the institutions—they never sleep and always have backup.
Only the State Police are charged with enforcing this illegal executive order, as they answer to the Governor directly.
My point remains. The state police will be picking off individuals rather than taking on a large armed group. Because they are always there and operate with backup if needed.
You use the term “pick them off” in your comment too far down the steps for replies. Makes me wonder if in some circumstance it comes to that. If it does, I think even the all talk no do gun owners will rise up.
They are reluctant to get sued into oblivion for the Gov’s performance theatre.
A New Mexico sheriff publicly declared he would not enforce the governor’s “illegal” orders.
I saw it on Twitter last night but forgot to bookmark the link.
The Post Millennial: https://tinyurl.com/4untawwd
“Headline: New Mexico sheriff REFUSES to enforce governor’s ban on carrying guns, says it’s unconstitutional.”
The sheriff didn’t actually refuse to enforce the order, he has reservations, “As the elected Sheriff, I have reservations regarding this order.”
The Bernalillo Sheriff has declined to enforce her order because it’s unconstitutional. I wish he’d spoken out when he was sitting at the table with her when she first issued the order.

“KRQE admitted it did not see any police in the area. Therefore, the police did not intervene or enforce the stupid order.”
Makes one wonder.
Smart cops. Enforcing the order leaves them in a pickle when (not if) the Governor backtracks.
That, or as stated in other comments, they don’t want to tackle 100 when they can “pick off” individuals. I also suspect there will be roadside check points. This could get very narstie.
Actually, the Chief of Police did in fact say he wouldn’t enforce it. The sheriff voiced reservations but didn’t specifically say that he’d ignore it.
I read that both the city police and the area sheriff announced publicly on the day Lujan signed the order they would NOT enforce it. That left only the staties, who are considered Lujan’s brownshirts.
She’s doing whatever she wants.
Because she can.
She knows she answers to the Party, not the people.
And any time anyone tries to question the voting irregularities that allow this monster to reign we are told that no one cares about that anymore, that we need to stop talking about it.
Isn’t making an unconstitutional rule grounds for impeachment?
The Republican legislators have announced they have already initiated impeachment procedures. They don’t have enough seats to actually do anything but embarrass the governor, so I hope they do a good job of that.
I’m old enough to remember when Executive Orders were directed only to the employees of the executive and Laws were the only thing the People were obligated to obey and the Executive authorized to enforce..
Somehow you managed to forget the mass evacuation into concentration camps of thousands of American citizens of Japanese extraction,, all done under authority of Executive Order 8066, in 1942.
New Mexico House: 45:25 in favor of Dems. New Mexico Senate: 27:15 in favor of Dems. New Mexico is a totalitarian state only distinguishable from California for being EAST of Arizona instead of WEST!
That and no good beaches.
Elephant Butte Reservoir isn’t all that shabby.
I suspect that if there is no improvement in violent crime over the next 30 days the Empress of New Mexico will claim that it’s because these citizens didn’t kowtow and obey.
Violent crime in Albuquerque is down from last year, even murders.

How about a compromise? They can carry if they wear N-95 masks.
How about, “NO”?
No compromise, ever
I’ll put an SR5 suppressor “mask” on my AR-15. Take it or leave it.
As we’ve seen over and over, especially since Covid, politicians and government functionaries can violate our civil rights with virtually no consequences. They may – eventually – lose in court, but they serve no jail time, they pay no fines. I’d like to see this criminalized in some way, with no qualified immunity. But we need to tread carefully otherwise the totalitarian leftists will use it against their enemies. Clearly though, our third branch, allegedly co-equal judiciary is no match for the combined onslaught against our rights from leftist politicians, the deep state and complicit media.
“dozens” showed up to the rally
over a hundred people participated
Well, 9 dozen people would be more than 100 and it would be “dozens”….
Officially, that journalist passed math.
“Thirty days to flatten the curve!”
I think the curve in her noggin needs to be flattened.
Just hundreds? Why aren’t there thousands? Pathetic.
Obama changed the rules from equal justice under the law to reward your friends and punish your enemies.

Not all that shabby for an event organized in 24 hours. But someone there ought to organize a much bigger one for next week.
Sorry comment went in the wrong spot.
However the answer to your question is what has happened to J6 and anti abortion protesters. If you protest leftist policies you may find a Fed swat team at your door and end up bankrupt and facing years in prison.
As Lenin said they use terror against their opponents because it works.
I am wicked disgusted at the press release the state rifle association posted today:
This is the sort of half-assed “advocacy” I’ve seen from all too many “NRA-affiliated state rifle associations” (SRAs).
(The best move Arizona ever made was to form a non-NRA-affiliated gun lobby that told NRA to butt out of our state politics, and did all the heavy lifting they weren’t doing — or were actively undermining, leaving the NRA and the SRA to keep the Fudds entertained.)
If the SRA isn’t going to stand up and clearly state that this order is abhorrent to the state and federal constitutions, that it is a line in the sand, and that it shall not stand, who the hell is going to?
(Thank heavens for the national groups such as AFA and GOA who are already on the scene kicking ass.
You’ll notice that NRA national isn’t doing jack-shit about this order, either.)
