Tucker Carlson’s Ratings Skyrocket With Airing of January 6th Video Footage

“Fox prime time doubled MSNBC’s average of 1.49 million total viewers and brought in more than six times the viewers of CNN.”

Democrats and people in the liberal media have been screeching for over a week about the fact that the January 6th footage was given to Tucker Carlson by House Speaker McCarthy.

Perhaps one of the reasons they seemed so panicked is because they know how many people watch Tucker’s show. He has an extremely wide reach, and this week his ratings have been through the roof.

Mediaite reported:

Cable News Ratings Tuesday March 7: Fox News Scores 6 Times More Viewers Than CNN in Prime Time

Fox News prime time soared to over 3 million average viewers on Tuesday night.

The very strong prime time number was anchored by Tucker Carlson, who brought in 4.14 million total viewers as his show sparked controversy on Monday night for his Jan. 6th coverage.

Fox prime time doubled MSNBC’s average of 1.49 million total viewers and brought in more than six times the viewers of CNN.

CNN’s prime time average came in at 451,000 total viewers.

This may explain why even the White House is desperately trying to discredit Tucker.

Politico reports:

White House goes after Tucker Carlson by name over Jan. 6 coverage

The White House joined in widespread condemnation of Fox News star Tucker Carlson on Wednesday, singling out the prime-time ratings king for his misleading portrayal of the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.

In comments shared first with POLITICO, the White House joined Republican Senate leaders and Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger, who a day earlier assailed Carlson’s broadcasts of selected assault footage as being “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions.”

“We agree with the chief of the Capitol Police and the wide range of bipartisan lawmakers who have condemned this false depiction of the unprecedented, violent attack on our Constitution and the rule of law — which cost police officers their lives,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said.

Here’s the first part, in case you missed it.

Adam Schiff is still complaining. See if you can detect any projection here:

That’s rich. Pencil-neck accusing someone, anyone, of lying and distorting the truth.

Especially including the reference to “repetition”. Schiff has been the primary voice in the echo chamber across cable news.

Tucker lied. He knew Garland did not connect the five dead policemen to January 6. He knew that.

Well, Garland did exactly that. And he’s STILL doing it. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2023/03/08/merrick-garland-on-j6-n2620339

“So I don’t want to comment on any particular reports,” he responded. “I think all Americans saw what happened on Jan. 6 and most of us saw it as it was happening. It was a violent attack on a fundamental tenet of American democracy—that power is peacefully transferred from one administration to another.

“Over 100 officers were assaulted on that day, five officers died,” he continued. “We have charged more than 1,000 people with their crimes on that day and more than 500 have already been convicted. I think it’s very clear what happened on Jan. 6.”

mr. garland (little letters and lack of respect to the real role of attorney general),

You claim 5 police officers were killed on J6 at the US Capital Building.

Please provide us the providence of each of these 5 police officers that were killed on that day.

Until then, we do not believe you nor will believe you on anything you do.

thetaqjr in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | March 10, 2023 at 11:04 am

Yes, clearly that is the correct interpretation if you want to place a period after the word “assaulted”, and begin another thought with “On that day …”.

CommoChief in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | March 10, 2023 at 12:05 pm

          Bruh,

The remarks by Garland were about J6. That is the context. That’s what he was talking about before using that sentence and that’s what he was talking about after that sentence.

I don’t see how you expect anyone to believe your assertion that the sentence; ‘5 officers died’, can be interpreted as separate from J6. The clear implication Garland is making is that five officers died (as a result of injuries sustained from being assaulted on J6).

          Leftists always seem to lie.

thetaqjr in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | March 10, 2023 at 1:32 pm

M’am, I’m not hung up on punctuation. My commas are very wide ranging. I’m not hung up on 22-23. When I head tucker say what he said, I reversed and played Mr Garland.
I understand the interpretation. I don’t think the juxtaposition proves AG was claiming the policeman died on J6, ‘21.

That the horned, Q-Anon man was sacrificed, I have little doubt.

That Truth is dead, that even the notion that Truth may exist is dead, I am very squeamish.

thetaqjr in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | March 10, 2023 at 7:39 pm

I cannot find REPLY way down there. About Tucker.

I watch Fox Business: Maria, Kudlow, Elizabeth MacDonald. I haven’t watched Tucker’s show for years. I watched him the present week specifically because he had proclamed he was going to show the tapes.

The tapes shown were of a meandering revolution conducted by inept revolutionaries. Maybe it was a diversion to allow one-legged, septuagenarian maidens could the Library of Congress because Huck Finn was auspiciously white. I don’t know.

But I did not see a riot either. I did not see anything resembling an overthrow. Inside the building, there was no panic from people on either “side”.

I know democrats lie beyond their wisdom. I think Mr Garland is afraid of his job. He looks to me as if he is tearing up. I do not know what AG said in early 2021 about the cause of the policemen’s deaths. But I do not believe he held the same view about the cause on March 7 last, that is, that five officers had died inside the capitol on January 6.

But in the clip Tucker published, the man, Mr Garland, was not making the claim that five policemen died at the hands of January 6 interlopers. That was a slight of tongue in time by Tucker.

henrybowman in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | March 11, 2023 at 11:19 pm

Garland is a lawyer. He knows how to say one thing and make you hear another.
And this is exactly what he did. He knew what he was saying. He knew what you would hear. And he knew he had left himself an “out” if he ever had to deny it later.

Dog bark, donkeys bray, snakes slither, vultures vomit, and radical leftists lie. It is in their nature to do so.

Commo, I’m neither your “bruh”, nor a leftist. It may be clear to you that tucker wasn’t twist8ng, but it is not clear to me. Wasn’t his, Garland’s statement, on J6, ‘22?

Friar Tuck interpreted the statement in one way when there exists at least one other way.

And soon to be Senator ,he’ll be the new schumer

Will he though? A Cis white male? Will the various tribes within the d/prog ethnic and racial coalition support him? When does a Hispanic or an Asian get a turn? How about indigenous people or an African American? Not to mention this is DiFi’s seat so d/prog logic would seem to require a woman to replace her. Though the d/prog do have problems ID what is a woman…..

“Whites need not apply”. Will rule from now on in the Dem Party. You are correct….The intersections list puts any white male irredeemably at the bottom. Carlson’s first broadcast is so obviously factual that calling it a lie is required by Prog doctrine. What is disheartening is that the spectrum of those wanting suppression of the truth includes so many in “republican” ranks. The Uniparty is larger just as the Deep State turned out to be so deep. A lot more true RINOs have exposed theselves. Sad day for the former USA.

Did you see the lack of confidence in Mitch’s posture when he pulled out that fake letter from Manger?

That letter does not jive with Kevin McCarthy and his staff working with the US Capital Police to go over 44K hours of J6 tape for security purposes.

Besides, Manger was NOT the chief on that day. Maybe just a worker bee.

inspectorudy in reply to gonzotx. | March 10, 2023 at 12:26 pm

So why do you think Trump can win in 2024? If the uniparty is still there and all of the other things you constantly rail about are still in place how is Trump going to win?

inspectorudy in reply to gonzotx. | March 11, 2023 at 7:16 pm

When you go onto a field of any sport you have to accept the umps or refs that come with that game or not play. When Trump became a politician he had to understand that it was not a one-man game. He didn’t. He insulted the leadership of both parties and belittled them almost daily. He then expected the slimy Paul Ryan and the disgusting McConnell to work with him. They didn’t. Now he is in the process of insulting anyone he imagines has slighted him in any way and making enemies of them. Do you see a replay here? He is trying to become the GOP nominee for the position of POTUS not King! He hasn’t learned one thing from his time in office.

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | March 9, 2023 at 12:28 pm

The various tribes need to be slapped down whenever a white male intelligence asset is needed to man one of the ACTUAL seats of Deep State power.
Actors are all divas who have to continually be reminded that they aren’t even directors, much less producers.

I think CNN could really increase their viewership if they just increase the size and frequency of on-air lies and deceit. … Er, . . . wait, . . . looks like they already tried that…

Never mind!

It’s funny how the uni-party going insane drew attention to what had the soiling their BVDs.

Not surprised Tucker’s ratings are high because our side is watching. That’s all. The WH is watching of course and reacting predictably. The other side is trying to discredit all they can, even by lying. That’s what they do. In the end, the needle won’t move. A stand off that may never end.

thetaqjr in reply to Whitewall. | March 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm

Why is every GD opposition statement labeled a lie? Little Red Ridinghood, to BBW, “ EAT, EAT, EAT! Doesn’t anybody ever just eff anymore? “

Why the necessity for overpowering? LI, overpowering insurrectionist’s comments, not cancelling, but overpowering one comments many ponderous comments at a time.

It’s a feeding frenzy and Tucker Carlson is only too happy to feed it. The video is chum in the water. Tucker hated Trump. He knew the Trump’s election fraud claims were b.s. and yet he wrote about Jacqui Heinrick, a Fox News reporter who pushed back on Trump’s election fraud lies: “Please get her fired. Seriously…What the fuck?” We know he wrote this because it’s in discovery material obtained by Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against Fox, which Fox will probably lose.

Carlson is not the path to retake the White House. He’s the path away from it. LI needs to pivot.

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | March 9, 2023 at 3:40 pm

The reason you didn’t know is b/c he still offered Trump even handed coverage and didn’t let his personal feelings impact his professional duties.

Assuming of course that he actually does hate Trump the man v hating the caricature that Trump himself willingly leans into.

Why do you care what his personal feelings are about Trump (or anything at all) as long as his coverage is accurate?

thetaqjr in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | March 10, 2023 at 3:38 pm

But, as we have seen, Tucker’s coverage is misleading. Misleading is not accurate. Is it?

thetaqjr in reply to thetaqjr. | March 10, 2023 at 3:45 pm

Tucker claims the US blew up NordStream. As fact. No proof. Just a claim. No consideration of false flag operation, not why Putin hardliners are exempt, not why anti-Putin officials are exempt, not why CCP is exempt. Just a spurious claim. And a goofy Kamala heehaw.

How is it misleading? I’m honestly asking. I don’t have cable, haven’t for over a decade, so I don’t watch his show beyond clips that go viral and what we publish here at LI. In other words, I don’t give a crap about Tucker or Fox News and haven’t in a very long time. I’m bemused that you seem to care so much, but as you clearly do, please clarify how Tucker is misleading. Garland has clearly and repeatedly lied about J6 deaths, there was one death (Ashli Babbitt, who was murdered in my view) . . . or maybe two. I’m still not clear on the second one. But I am very clear on what Garland and his DOJ/FBI have claimed regarding “five deaths” on THAT DAY, JANUARY 6th.

henrybowman in reply to thetaqjr. | March 11, 2023 at 11:23 pm

I don’t have cable/satellite, but Tucker’s segments are posted very reliably on YouTube, and I visit them there several times a week.

    lurker9876 in reply to Stuytown. | March 10, 2023 at 8:37 am

Now that is hilarious. Tucker’s text was probably a “spur of the moment” feeling only because of the J6 event.

Oh wait…he spent time standing next to Trump at some golf tournament.

And given rising ratings, Fox News has now put itself between a rock and a hard place.

Fox News cannot fire Tucker and they cannot control him either. Just wait…they will no longer be able to prevent Tucker from airing more of the videos while Kevin McCarthy is finding ways to release the J6 tapes without censorship. Oh wait…he can use Truth Social and rumble with someone that cannot be controlled. Devin Nunes? Kash Patel?

He did well not to use his fake laugh. Everybody would have turned him back off.

Apparently his points were strong enough not to need the fake laugh this time.

mailman in reply to rhhardin. | March 9, 2023 at 11:37 am

If your focussed on only his laugh then that tells us more about you than the arguments he’s making.

rhhardin in reply to mailman. | March 9, 2023 at 2:30 pm

Carlson edges into the stupid right, meant here as a faction, corresponding to the stupid left but the other way, pretty often. The fake laugh goes with those features pretty often.

He doesn’t care that it’s stupid because it’s ratings and he’s out of material. But still it’s the stupid right.

If you don’t mind the fake laugh, that’s a faction too.

There’s no need for fake when it’s genuine.

rhhardin in reply to rhhardin. | March 9, 2023 at 9:07 pm

3/9 Tucker Carlson, the fake laugh comes out at men who can get pregnant. That’s playing to the stupid right. It’s not ridiculous, just a policy choice: the left wants to call some women men if the women want to be called men, is all.

The correct reaction, which a genuine right would be interested in, is contesting that, not that men can get pregnant. An argument you could win easily.

Not Carlson. He has the fake laugh and says men can’t get pregnant. No interest in the cause.

The refutation is that the language goes with what the speaker sees, not with what the left wants you to see.

They got the names backwards anyway, making any news story impossible to follow. A transwoman ought to be a woman pretending to be a man. Then transwomen can get pregnant and everything’s fine.

The government speaks, it lies. What else is new today?

Has Tucker aired anything new from the videos since Monday?

gonzotx in reply to MTED. | March 9, 2023 at 2:08 pm

No… no new videos, he has interviews, but Murdoch seems to be putting his foot down

Hopefully he isn’t done, lots more to unleash and show it was a Democrat/ Marxist set up.

I watched last night for a bit….and saw no new video. Why watch again? He is compromised already. Taken down.

Yes, it is strange that the PTB at Fox decided to stop airing the video footage, but it’s hardly Tucker’s fault. He can’t just do whatever he wants; he’s an employee and constrained by his bosses/management/corporate/etc. just like every other employee in the nation. He clearly had no problem going for it, but . . . no.

Let’s see where the thousands of hours of video lands next. You know, somehow. 😉

Tucker Carlson deserves the Pulitzer Prize for telling the truth

Unless the Murdoch twins are affected by the polls, Tucker won’t be showing any more videos of importance. Last night was embarrassing to watch. He is focusing on the Viking horns-wearing guy and that will help his case but the video exposing the lies of the J6 committee and the FBI involvement seem to be over. I hope Carlson will use the videos and try to find a new venue to show them on if FNC forbids him to show the inflammatory ones.

inspectorudy | March 11, 2023 at 7:20 pm

Tucker has been spoken to and he is now being a good boy. He will probably never show one of the really disgusting tapes that are being shown online and his surge is going to be short-lived. Remember that FNC is controlled by two leftists from a country that is going down the drain as we speak. Socialism and cancer are so much alike that it is dizzying.

As for numbers, JRE averages 11,000,000 per episode. Just an illustration of where the people are getting information and it isn’t cable news anymore. It sure as heck isn’t CNN and MSNBC
