Diversity is now an industry within higher education and it can be quite lucrative.

Campus Reform reports:

Northwestern University is hiring two paid DEI interns to promote racial justice

Northwestern University’s Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI) recently announced two new job positions searching for paid student interns.

According to the description, the office will hire two interns that “demonstrate a commitment to diversity and social justice.”

The hires will carry out various initiatives associated with spreading racial justice and equity goals at a rate of $13.55 – $15.25 per hour.

Per the description, duties will include supporting the office’s initiatives, assisting with writing media releases and newsletters, and uploading new content to the office’s social media profiles.

OIDI’s recent news releases include “Examining the Emotional Lives of Black Women”, “Making the Classroom More Equitable”, and “Practicing restorative justice at Northwestern”.

Earlier this year, OIDI’s social media accounts promoted a podcast by Ibram X. Kendi, author of How to be Antiracist, and an event called, “Indigenizing and Decolonizing Racial Justice.”

Let’s see how the “Indigenizing and Decolonizing Racial Justice” works out. When any Filipino student advocacy group demands reparations for the misdeeds of the US Army troops sent to suppress the 1899-1902 insurrection, they are not talking about just “white people.” Two regiments of black Buffalo Soldiers were sent to the Philippines, and blacks have been over-represented in the subsequent US troops. Then there was the Japanese occupation during WW II, for which the Filipino students can presumably seek reparations from any Japanese-American students on campus.

Similarly, the indigenous students can demand social justice from all other student groups based upon unaddressed grievances that go back to 1612.

I am glad that paid student interns from OIDI will be there to keep score because this is getting very complicated, with everyone having grievances against every other group on campus. I wonder whether Federal Work Study Funds are fueling this mess.

I’m amazed that diversity is called a “lucrative” industry because a couple of part-time interns are being hired for $13.55 per hour. It seems to me that attacking diversity is much more lucrative than that. How much money does Legal Insurrection take in? How much are each of the staff and writers paid for their work? If you’re going to attack the “diversity industry,” surely you have a moral obligation to be transparent and reveal your own salaries.
