Fauci Facing Bipartisan Congressional Inquiry Over NIH Funding Horrifying ‘Experiments’ on Beagle Puppies

UPDATE (1/4/2022): The scientific paper has issued a correction to its own prior reporting. USA Today explains:
“Funding from the National Institutes of Health, of which the NIAID is a part, was initially disclosed in the study. But the journal that published the paper later issued a note saying the agency did not fund the experiment, a fact that NIAID confirmed to USA TODAY. The agency has supported research on dogs in the past, however.”

This past week has not been kind to Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Republicans are clamoring for his investigations and resignation for funding gain-of-function experiments that almost certainly led to SARS-CoV-2, the pathogen behind the COVID pandemic.
But the once mighty godlet of masks and social distancing is facing public outcry from both the left and the right for funding an entirely different line of research.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers wants to interview Fauci about funding that was provided for “cruel and unnecessary” experiments on beagle puppies.
Twenty-four members of the House of Representatives signed a letter to Fauci, who is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a part of NIH.
The letter was prompted by the nonprofit group White Coat Waste which obtained documents under the Freedom of Information Act that appear to show NIAID spent $1.68 million in taxpayer money for experiments on beagle puppies in a lab in Tunisia.
Those experiments reportedly involved testing drugs on the animals and in some cases, they were “de-barked” through a procedure called a cordectomy.
The lawmakers, led by Republican Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, wrote to Fauci on October 21 with a number of questions about the matter that they want to be answered by November 19.
“We write with grave concerns about reports of costly, cruel, and unnecessary taxpayer-funded experiments on dogs commissioned by National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases,” the lawmakers wrote.

A disturbing report from The Hill has been published, which is based on documents a nonprofit called the White Coat Waste Project claims to have obtained via a FOIA request. Analysis of the information suggests the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (of which Fauci is the Director) partially funded experiments being conducted in Tunisia between late 2018 and early 2019, dozens of young beagles were being tortured and killed.
According to the White Coat Waste Project, the Food and Drug Administration does not require drugs to be tested on dogs, so the group is asking why the need for such testing.
White Coat Waste claims that 44 beagle puppies were used in a Tunisia, North Africa, laboratory, and some of the dogs had their vocal cords removed, allegedly so scientists could work without incessant barking.
Leading the effort is Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), writing a letter to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) saying the cordectomies are “cruel” and a “reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds.”
“Our investigators show that Fauci’s NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia to drug beagles and lock their heads in mesh cages filled with hungry sand flies so that the insects could eat them alive,” White Coat Waste told Changing America. “They also locked beagles alone in cages in the desert overnight for nine consecutive nights to use them as bait to attract infectious sand flies.”

Revelations about the experiments conducted have been chilling.
Some of the twisted experiments alleged to have been carried out include putting puppies’ heads into mesh containers, and letting sand flies eat them alive. Some of the puppies are also said to have been left out in the desert overnight for 9 days straight — where there, too, they were devoured by the infectious flies … which can carry deadly viruses.
The lab workers are alleged to have silenced the dogs’ barking by surgically removing their vocal cords, so they could work in peace. As a result of these ghastly claims, 24 members of the House of Representatives have fired off a letter demanding accountability.
The news that Fauci is experimenting on puppies may finally be what makes him resign.
The country is politically divided on everything else. But we ALL care about puppies.

4. Is in partnership with any military other than key allies; UK, AUS, Canada, NZ, Japan, India
5. All sites must be subjective to unannounced inspection with full cooperation and complete transparency by Congressional oversight

Speaking as someone who has been in many Muslim countries and lived, worked and taught alongside Muslims I don’t have any particular beef with folks who follow Islam. Generally speaking they want what we want to create the nest situation possible for themselves and their family. The average person in a Muslim country is too busy putting food on the table to worry about a Jihad even if they were inclined which frankly most aren’t.
As to dogs, I have always had dogs and they are infinitely more loyal and better companions than most people. Dogs have reasonable expectations and low demands.

One of the problems we (those of us with an interest in defending the country) had with working with Muslim majority countries was that in their religion, dogs are unclean. So we could give them military working dogs. Dogs that took years and thousands of dollars to get to their level.
And the Muslims just wouldn’t take care of them. More, outright cruelty. But, hey, given our emphasis on quotas who cares how many dogs are killed. As my USAF friend reported after a tour training Saudi aviators in the E-8 AWACS, “If Allah wants the gear to come down, Allah will make the gear come down.”
