‘Rise of the Moors’ Militia Group Arrest Does Not Fit The Media and Government Narrative

‘Rise of the Moors’ Militia Group Arrest Does Not Fit The Media and Government Narrative

“Moorish sovereigns espouse an interpretation of sovereign doctrine that African Americans constitute an elite class within American society with special rights and privileges”

On the weekend of the 4th, state police in Massachusetts ended up in an hours-long highway standoff with an armed group of men who identify as part of a group called “Rise of the Moors.”

They claim to be sovereign and above the laws of the United States. The national media is, for the most part, ignoring the story, and certainly is not giving it the obsessive coverage it would have received if the race of the group members was different.

Joe Biden and the FBI claim that white supremacy is the biggest threat in America right now and this story definitely does not fit the official narrative.

This particular ‘Rise of the Moors’ group is from Rhode Island and claimed they were on their way to Maine to “train” when they were first noticed by police.

Since the standoff happened in Massachusetts, some local outlets like MassLive have been covering the basic facts. Here’s what unfolded on July 3rd:

A Massachusetts State Police trooper was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in Wakefield when he came upon two vehicles stopped in the breakdown lane around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The men were attempting to refuel their vehicles.

The occupants of the vehicle were dressed in military-style tactical gear. Some had long rifles, some pistols and “some had a combination of both,” Massachusetts State Police Colonel Christopher Mason told reporters on Saturday.

The trooper asked members of the group to produce licenses for the firearms and members of the group indicated they weren’t licensed or didn’t have copies of licenses on them.

“You can imagine 11 armed individuals standing with long guns slung on an interstate highway at two in the morning certainly raises concerns and is not consistent with the firearms laws we have in Massachusetts,” Mason said…

The individuals are members of Rise of the Moors, a group who identify as Moorish Americans…

“Moorish sovereigns espouse an interpretation of sovereign doctrine that African Americans constitute an elite class within American society with special rights and privileges that convey on them a sovereign immunity placing them beyond federal and state authority.”

The leader of the group was actually broadcasting live video during the standoff:

They were arraigned in court on Wednesday. Jake Dima of the Washington Examiner has details:

‘Rise of the Moors’ members in Massachusetts armed standoff case combative in court appearances

Several members of the “Rise of the Moors,” a group that does not identify with U.S. laws, were combative and chaotic during court arraignments Wednesday.

Ten men and one 17-year-old were arrested Saturday, and Massachusetts law enforcement seized firearms after the group was seen donning tactical gear off I-95. They were brought into custody after an hourslong standoff that involved the suspected militia fleeing “into the woods carrying rifles and handguns,” police said.

Conrad Pierre, 29, of New York, sparred with a judge about obtaining an attorney after he said he does not fall within the jurisdiction of U.S. laws. After minutes of back and forth, he was assigned a lawyer.

Another man, referred to as John Doe No. 2, has refused to identify himself to the court, and authorities ordered him to reveal his name by Friday. On Tuesday, several others entered the proceedings and demonstrated similar behaviors. All have since been held without bail.

Last night, Laura Ingraham of FOX News did an interesting report on the case and the group. She interviewed a former MA state trooper and a former FBI analyst who have both had contact with the group before:

If these men were white nationalists, this story would be leading every broadcast on CNN and MSNBC. You wouldn’t know anything else was even happening in the world.

Notice how the propaganda machine has been silent on this story.

Nothing shows the media hypocrisy better than this story.
    > Censored on CNN, MSNBC, WaPo, ABC, NBC, CBS.

Until I read this story on LI, I hadn’t heard anything since the day it happened.

The silence was so complete that I thought I had dreamed this at night.

I am no fan of guns laws in Mass. I live there so I have to put up with them. But these guys should know that if you are transporting firearms through Mass. there are laws. Full stop. First you have to have an appropriate license for the firearm. There are different licenses for long guns and short guns. Secondly there are laws related to how you can transport them in a car. These guys did not obey those laws either. Equal protection under the law implies equal prosecution under the law. A civil society implies equal dissemination of things,

Years ago, before the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage was legal across the country, a gay couple married in a state that allowed for gay marriages would be recognized as married in all states.

If the weapons I am carrying are legally registered, obtained or licensed in my state, why does another state get to say “those licenses aren’t legal here?”

If a marriage license (not mentioned in the Constitution) traverses state borders, why doesn’t the right to legally bear arms (stated in the Constitution) not be given the same weight when crossing state lines?

(This is not a backing of this group, but we have all seen cases such as a woman traveling to work from Philadelphia to Delaware was stopped and arrested for being legal in Pennsylvania, but not in Delaware. Similarly, a couple was stopped on the Harbor Tunnel Thruway in Baltimore because the police had used a license plate reader to see that they had a CCP for their home state, but not for transport across Maryland.)

I’ve long wondered by what principle one’s rights (to arms, or anything else) can vary as one displaces oneself geographically, from state to state, in a union of states all founded upon the same principles of law, justice, and individual rights, and all subject to the same supreme law, the US Constitution. The idea that one’s rights do vary as one travels from place to place does not seem to be consonant with the principles upon which the ours laws are based.

Although all (or most) state constitutions authorize states to “define crimes,” states have long since done far more than define crimes (e.g., the difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder requires the “definition” of crimes), having assumed the practice of creating crimes with mala prohibita laws that define as crimes actions that are intrinsically innocent and cause no actual harm to innocent parties. I have long thought that this is a serious distortion of the states’ actual authority to define crimes.

I do not have to register or have a license to own guns, but if I pass through Mass with them, I suddenly need a Mass license? I’ll call BS on this

henrybowman in reply to MarkS. | July 9, 2021 at 4:00 pm

The federal Firearms Owner Protection Act says if you are traveling from one place where it is legal to carry your guns to another place where it is legal to carry your guns, and you have to pass through a place where it is not legal, you cannot be prosecuted as long as the guns are unloaded, cased, and placed in whatever part of your vehicle is relatively inaccessible. (Note well, I used the word “carry” instead of “possess,” because that’s what the law actually says, which is troublesome.) You cannot stop in the “bad place” overnight (you can get gas), you can’t “take possession of your bags” if your flight through NYC is cancelled, a whole host of caveats by which they “getcha.”

Needless to say, these people weren’t even CLOSE to doing that — flaunting them around on the interstate.

      But… Massachusetts?? Rhode Island????
This is tastier than any possible transition cake could EVER be!

To me, there are two general classes of zealots, those that claim to be motivated by patriotism and those that distance themselves from the nation. This group is in the latter category.

The bottom line is that the two groups will not mix well.

Another general classification of people is law-abiding vs. non-law-abiding. Both groups fall into the latter category. When advocates of “defund the police” make their policy arguments, they need to reflect upon the existence of such groups.

TrickyRicky in reply to lawgrad. | July 9, 2021 at 10:22 am

So your analysis is that those who love this country and what it stands for are zealots and are not law-abiding. Got it.

CommoChief in reply to TrickyRicky. | July 9, 2021 at 11:06 am

      TR,

      Zealotry isn’t necessarily a pejorative.

For example: ‘John was zealous in his courtship of the busty, blond, virgin with nymphomaniac proclivities, who’s Father owns a national chain of liquor stores’.

Capsaicin_Addict | July 9, 2021 at 9:53 am

These guys have been well documented. It’s a blend of black supremacist thinking and the sovereign citizen mindset.

My money is on them walking away scot-free with a modicum of finger wagging.

A pity. I was looking forward to a Communist-on-Communist brawl. It would be an epic collision of two sacred media narratives. On one side would be the “gun owners are Hitler reincarnated”, and on the other “all black people are innocent victims, pure and holy”.

    henrybowman in reply to Capsaicin_Addict. | July 9, 2021 at 10:39 pm

In Massachusetts? That’ll be tough. The beaneaters don’t dare fail to flex their “toughest in the USA” gun laws whenever they have to… otherwise they lose serious street cred to California. Maura Healy’s still smarting from being Becerra’s bitch, and she’s damned if she’ll be Bonta’s.

As I understand it, this group’s position is that under the USA’s 1786 treaty with Morocco, which is still in effect, all Moors have diplomatic immunity. And since in Shakespeare’s day all black people were called “Moors”, they are all covered by the treaty. Or maybe only those who consciously identify as Moors are covered. Or something like that.

American Human in reply to Milhouse. | July 9, 2021 at 10:29 am

Question though, if they are sovereign and have diplomatic immunity per that treaty, could they then be declared PNG and sent back to Morocco? If they have diplomatic immunity they can’t be prosecuted for breaking these laws, right? If they consider themselves citizens of Morocco, off they go maybe?
I expect the Moroccan government could quickly identify them as citizens or not. If they aren’t citizens of Morocco, then they are pure and simple law breakers?

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to American Human. | July 9, 2021 at 4:11 pm

“Question though, if they are sovereign and have diplomatic immunity per that treaty, could they then be declared PNG and sent back to Morocco?”

I have no problem with this group. What evil have they done? Do they have strange ideas? Sure, but so does Milhouse, and we do not throw hate all over him, well… OK, at least not all the time.

Seriously, until they start hurting people, or threatening people, or stealing from people, or destroying private or public property, who cares what they think. They have a right to think it and seem relatively harmless to me.

OK, so they failed to bone up on MASS gun laws before trying to transit the state. OH MY GOD! They failed to get law degrees or travel across state lines with an attorney! They should be instructed on the law, given a warning, and sent on their way. If they fail to head that warning, then, OK, Book-em Danno.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Milhouse. | July 9, 2021 at 11:58 am

H’mmm… I think I have Moroccan heritage. Do I get this immunity?

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to Milhouse. | July 9, 2021 at 4:04 pm

“Or maybe only those who consciously identify as Moors are covered”

If I can consciously identify as whatever gender I desire, why cannot I not consciously identify as whatever nationality I want?

Amateurs! If only they had burned something down (businesses or synagogues or churches), or taken shots at the police (in the holy name of Fighting Systemic Racism). Then the Joseph Goebbels media would gush with hagiographic stories about the Rise of the Moors, and the group members would have all charges against them dropped. Now they will likely get weapons-related charges.

Moral of the story: if you want the support of the ruling Communist Party and their media bootlickers, you have to actually kill or threaten “racists” or at least burn something down.

Many of the Barbary Pirates were also Moors.

These people are the descendants of the original slavers. Their ancestors enslaved many white Europeans, colonialists and later early Americans.

We need these fuckers to pay reparations to Whitey!

American Human in reply to Paul. | July 9, 2021 at 10:30 am

The Barbary Pirates were primarily from Libya with the Bashaw of Tripoli as their liege to whom they paid part of their booty.

Sisu in reply to Paul. | July 9, 2021 at 12:42 pm

Depending on what reference one looks at the common thread in answer to “Who are Moors ?” appears to consist of –

Moor is an exonym first used by Christian Europeans to designate the Muslim inhabitants of the Maghreb, the Iberian Peninsula, Sicily and Malta during the Middle Ages. … Moors are not a distinct or self-defined people. … (Wikipedia)

    And, a different analysis – https://www.britannica.com/topic/Moor-people

The proposition of “Moorish, sovereign citizens” is both a search for identity among those who are disaffected and need to blame others for their lot and want to feel special, but likely more (no pun intended) importantly it’s fundamental to a tax scam based on the claim that said individuals are not subject to the US Tax Code. (IRS has rulings against such claims, but appears not to prosecute – Why ? Likely because the claimants have darker skin tones.)

A conversation with any individual who identifies as a “Moor, sovereign citizen” rapidly degrades into repetition of memorized sound bites.

These guys will walk free (further empowered) because no racist demorat is going to see prosecution as a fight worth the possible loss of votes (and then there is BLM and antifa).

Do elites look at the gas guage?

amatuerwrangler in reply to Anchovy. | July 9, 2021 at 7:52 pm

I thought about this when this was first posted….
These self-proclaimed elites and generally vastly superior people ran out of gas on a trip from RI to ME, in Massachusetts. I hit the Google map and found that the trip from Providence to Bangor is a whopping 300 miles; less if you stay with I-95 instead of some loop-around to skip the downtown traffic. I did my escape from CA to UT in my Ram 2500 (600+ miles) on essentially 1 tank of diesel, pulling my shop in a utility trailer. These guys can’t even figure how much gas to siphon for a 300 mile jaunt.

That inventory of arms in the earlier post, spread over 10 people really stretches the meaning of “heavily armed”.

The Friendly Grizzly | July 9, 2021 at 11:43 am

Above the law? An elite class? Who do they think they are? Congressmen?

So right wing white supremacist militias are so devious that they operate as black terrorists reclaiming the entire North American continent they claim was stolen from them. Diabolical.

I assume that Gen Milley will be reading up on Moor Rage

Jack Klompus | July 9, 2021 at 2:22 pm

Oh, I’m sorry. They’re actually the “Rise of the Moops.”

“African Americans constitute an elite class within American society with special rights and privileges”

Hmmmm. Let me see. Now where have I heard that before? Maybe a better question is, “Name a day of the week that goes by when I don’t hear that?”

Imprisoned Moor #2 to Imprisoned Moor #1: “Get some guns, you said! Dress up in military uniforms, you said! Get ten of us in a car and block a highway you said!…”

They bury the lede here, as the media usually does for its protected classes. Moors are Muslim, and Islam teaches that infidel law is not legitimate. That’s where they get the idea that they have “a sovereign immunity placing them beyond federal and state authority”.

chrisboltssr | July 9, 2021 at 5:13 pm

These guys take an absolute reading of the 2nd Amendment which says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. While I admire that they would be on more solid ground if they didn’t attempt to separate themselves from the United States.

Escaped from RI | July 9, 2021 at 5:31 pm

New narrative: America, so racist that even the black separatists are white supremacists.

Muslim supremacists/terrorists and black Muslim supremacists/terrorists are becoming increasingly brazen under the transparent dhimmitude and feckless obeisance to Islamic supremacism and hate that are now intrinsic to the Dhimmi-crat ethos and agenda.
