Candidates Against Critical Race Theory Elected to Dallas Area School Board
NBC News frames the story as though the new board members prefer and support racist education because of course.
Two candidates who oppose racist Critical Race Theory (CRT) won spots on the Carroll Independent School District (CISD) school board in Southlake, Texas, the state’s top school district.
The mainstream media describes them as racist, but the two people won with 70% of the vote.
CISD wanted to implement CRT after videos surfaced two years ago of students singing a rap song with the n-word.
You know, instead of talking to the kids and reminding them, they shouldn’t utter the word even when singing along to a song. I in no way support CRT or the left’s embrace that every white person is automatically racist, but I hate that word with a passion.
The awesome Dana Loesch lives in the district.
So far it’s 70%-30% against CRT school board candidates. Big leads against CRT (institutionalized Marxist racism)-supporting candidates. Parents showed up and fought back. Results still coming in but everyone is hopeful for the first time in awhile. https://t.co/qYoFBduDUQ

From The Federalist:
Cameron “Cam” Bryan, a civil engineer and father of four, captured one seat with 68 percent of the vote. Hannah Smith, an attorney and mother of four, won the other seat up for grabs with 69 percent of the vote.
“Southlake, we did it!” Smith told her supporters at a victory party Saturday, according to The Texan. “I’m so grateful to the voters for their confidence in me. The goodness of the people of Southlake is on display for the whole country to see.”
Bryan declared the decisive wins a mandate to restore the district’s focus on academic excellence, not leftist politics.
“They can’t argue with us,” Bryan said, reported by The Texan. “Hannah and I will be leaders, and we’ve got your back.”
Look at how NBC News frames the story. These big bad conservatives oppose the anti-racism curriculum! In other words, these new school board members are racist.
Opponents of anti-racism education win big in a bitterly divided election in Southlake, Texas. Conservative candidates who opposed a school diversity plan won every local race, taking about 70% of the vote in the wealthy Dallas-Fort Worth suburb. https://t.co/m7rtlYh3X0

The article is no better. NBC interviewed one person who voted for the conservative candidates. However, the network concentrated on those supportive of the CRT program.
NBC cited stats of racial and income makeup of the district as a way to explain why CISD needed CRT. It also never dived into details of the CRT program. We all know CRT training sessions tell white people to check their privilege and we should automatically feel guilty for what white people did in the past, even if our ancestors were not here during the Civil War!
Bad headline. Terrible framing. The opponents of the racist and divisive CRT policies won big.

This is one of the most blatantly liberally-biased descriptions of a news story that I have ever seen…

CHRIS WALLACE MUST BE A MORON
This Sunday he said something like “Why would anyone not be anti-racist” when he was talking about issues related to the Neo-racists.
Is he really that stupid ? This is precisely why the Progressives use semantics and propaganda techniques. They catch people like Wallace sleeping.
EVERYONE, call it want it is NEO-RACISM. It is not anti-racism – it is actual overt racism.
If you’re reading this and you know CHRIS WALLACE please tell him to wake up and do some research instead of just trying to wing it. He has a history of clueless comments like this.
Anyone who thinks Chris Wallace doesn’t know the score, isn’t paying attention himself.
Chris Wallace is a gaslighting bitch who would get punched in his lying mouth if he stepped outside his insipid prog bubble.
MEDIA ARE IN ON THE RACE-BAITING GRIFT
The article laments NBC News for framing this as “school board members who promote racism”.
The media promote racial discord because it sells newspapers. They will NEVER write a story about racial harmony or improving race relations. BLM’s business model is lucrative and the media are full partners in the grift.
They are a leach on society.
A few points on this. First, parents of all backgrounds supported the winning candidates. Second, Carroll ISD is one of if not the top performing district because the focus is on preparing kids for their future, not teaching weak minded nonsense. Third, the mail in vote, while small, broke the opposite of early and day of voting. Those of us that live here have been dragged for not supporting CRT, by the media, “celebrities” and others. Guess what? We don’t care. Our children are the number one priority.
Re: Our children are the number one priority.
But not to those supporting CRT. Who in their right mind would send a white or black kid to a school that teaches that white kids are losers, because of what some generic white supposedly did hundreds of years ago – conveniently omitting the relationship of slavery to the Democratic party and that almost every white here now is descended from much later immigrants, e.g., Irish, who came here to escape poverty and oppression (or all the whites who fought and died in the Civil War to free the slaves).
IMO, the best solution to this issue and that of appallingly bad inner city schools trapping minorities in inner city ghettos (the modern plantation?) is the competition of having public school dollars follow the child, wherever he chooses to go. This TX school district would have thought a lot longer about this CRT issue if they stood to lose 70% of their funds to competition.
Installing new school board members is a good start, but all administrators should be broomed for tolerating or supporting CRT, Any teacher who continues this crap should be fired. Warn them upfront, dismiss them if they step out of line.
You actually think these new school board members are going to be installed? That’s a laugh. I’m awaiting and won’t be surprised when the inevitable lawsuits are filed by the losers claiming election irregularities and that all the votes need to be counted and the rest of that nonsense. This isn’t over yet. And it’ll be a months long slog through the courts before anything is decided. Guaranteed.
I don’t know Texas law, but in Georgia, it’s hard to win an election contest.
The school board is one of the hardest nuts to crack in Georgia. If they can do a sweep of ALL seats on the school board over time, they have a chance to kill this disease and keep it from growing back.
In the meantime, while waiting to sweep all seats, kill all renewals or new mileages. base that assault on CRT..
CRT must end, or public schools must end.
I’m assuming you mean millages. You confuse me every time you write that. My mind immediately flips to expense reports.
Sorry for that, I have mentioned before that I am probably Asperger, meaning huge extremes between what I excel at, and what I do not.
Winning 70% of the vote is a clear mandate. I highly doubt there will be any challenges. Also, the parents are very involved. The Board will not be able to push anything through without strong support of parents/taxpayers.
You know, instead of talking to the kids and reminding them, they shouldn’t utter the word even when singing along to a song
OMG! Just tell the kids that there are certain words that are not used under any circumstances (the “n-word” definitely being one of them) and then get on with life. That would make too much common sense. No need for any CRT nonsense at all. But of course, these days common sense isn’t that common any longer. Gotta make everything out to be more than it is as the liberal snowflakes reign supreme in society.
Things just happen. What the hell. ~Didactylos
Yes, what a wonderful idea. Then when the kids ask you why, if “there are certain words that are not used under any circumstances”, the singers, promoters, and record labels are all allowed to use those words in rather a lot of circumstances – then, perhaps then, you will take a closer look at your own assumptions.
What is the new make up of the board regarding the Critical Racist issue?
Critical Race Theory presumes diversity [dogma] (i.e. color judgment). In order to control the evolution of inequity and exclusion, end the secular incentives and coercion to teach, indoctrinate, normalize prejudice, to mitigate its progress.
That said, diversity of individuals, minority of one. #BabyLivesMatter
One of the problems with the reporting is that the term “anti-racist” has recently moved from being being a conjunction of two words to being a defined term. Proper reporting would use it as a capitalized term.
One of the problems is that the term “proper reporting” has recently moved to meaning “parroting the Democrat narrative.” That’s why you tend not to see it here.
“The mainstream media describes them as racist, but the two people won with 70% of the vote.”
Because America is a racist country. See?
“CISD wanted to implement CRT after videos surfaced two years ago of students singing a rap song with the n-word.”
Their crime was being white. If they were black kids singing exactly the same lyrics, nobody would even have been interested. That’s just white privilege.
True Henry. There’s a massive double standard. Blacks own the “N” word. Merely saying that word, in any context, can get a White person in big trouble.
Look at the Liberal NY Times reporter, a 40 year veteran of the Paper, who used it in the context of a lesson to kids on a field trip – he simply repeated the word because some one else said it and he wanted to illustrate how to deescalate a situation. He was canned by the NY Times. The Times editors basically said that context is irrelevant – though they later tried to walk it back and said context is important – but the damage was done.
OK, tell me again (sometimes I’m a little slow), why can black people (mostly rappers) use the N word and others are criticized for it? The double standard has got to stop as does the categorizing people by race and ethnicity.
