House Dems Move to Expel Marjorie Taylor Greene as Twitter Locks Her Account
The bill needs a two-third supermajority to pass the House.
Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) plans to introduce a resolution to expel Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House.
The resolution has 72 co-sponsors.

Twitter has also reportedly suspended Greene from the platform. Her account still exists, but the last tweet came 16 hours ago.
I just voted NO on HR 6 (Amnesty)!

We better take the House in 2022 and then get about expelling the expellers.
That would take a 2/3 majority, which there is no chance we will get. Just as they have no 2/3 majority now, and therefore can’t expel her. They can posture, and if we get the majority we can posture too, but it won’t change anything.
Someone in the minority didn’t vote the way the majority wanted them to, or said something the majority disagreed with, so the majority moves to expel them. Welcome to the banana republic formerly known as the United States of America.
With due respect to Milhouse, the mere fact that some members think this is a valid approach to simple disagreement is what should be troubling to us all, whether they consider it posturing or not.

This!!!
We don’t know how many of them actually consider expulsion a valid response. Their co-sponsoring the fake expulsion motion is showmanship; if this could actually pass some of them might thing twice about it — you never know.
You may be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, Milhouse, but after years of a completely counterfeit Russia hoax, two completely baseless impeachments with no chance of success, I’m not willing to believe it’s “just posturing.”
Very generous, milhouse.
How do you know they are posturing?
That claim seems to be made with great certainty. If a bully threatens, future victims should believe them. Assuming the guy who threatens you with assault before he murders you, might be a bad idea. Or, I don’t know, he could be just posturing. You know, like a joke.
We know it’s posturing simply because it’s an empty threat, and they know it. They don’t have anything like the numbers to carry out, so by definition it’s posturing. What would they do if they had the numbers? None of us knows. After all, isn’t that what you always claim about the Republicans who kept making motions to repeal 0bamacare when they didn’t have the numbers, but changed their tune when they did? So why don’t you think the same applies to Democrats?
Milhouse from the totality of your postings I can say you are textbook classic on how the legal profession has gone off the rails, utterly failed, completely forgotten what they are supposed to be about and are not just providing guidance and a roadmap for those who want to destroy this country but actually building those roads. All the while gazing down on us and at the destruction you have wrought feigning innocence, at times blamimg the placement of a comma or a “shall be” and always yammering “it’s the law!”….knowing damn well your profession has made the law meaningless and nothing more than a handy tool for the powerful to crush the people and institutions they want gone.
From the totality of you’re postings you’re an idiot, who makes assumptions completely unsupported by evidence.
You’re kidding, right? The Republicans haven’t given much thought to the rapidly approaching 2022 midterm elections and no thought whatsoever as to what they should be doing in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election. All they’ve managed to do is piss and moan about the 2020 presidential election and election fraud non-stop which has gotten them nowhere. The Republicans need to stop beating a dead horse, stop sitting on their principles, get their asses organized and start winning these damn elections. Nothing less will save the Republic. If we don’t at least re-take the Senate in 2022 its the end. We won’t be winning any more elections whatsoever. Period.
Don’t sweat it. The Murder Turtle has it all figured out for the Senate. He’s going to “retire” and let the Democrat Guv=nuh appoint his successor. How’s that for a sweet deal?????
Consider yourself the recipient of one up-tick. The new improved site won’t let me do it the conventional way.
That is a good point, all if this pretending we won 2020 is keeping Republicans from doing their job of trying to win the 2022 election.
After SCOTUS codified election fraud, it ain’t gonna happen
That is weird, I can uptick you but not the first post.
I’d rather they make changes to the law to stop the deplatforming and silencing of conservative critics.
Really hefty fines, like multiple millions of dollars style fines.
Expelling elected officials from congress because of their opinions is an escalation even for the extremist left. They respect no limits.
Some days it seems as if the left wants another civil war. Then there are the days when it’s indisputable that they want another civil war.
It would be, and maybe if they had the numbers to do it they would be more careful. But since they know it won’t pass and won’t set a precedent they’re free to posture for their base.
True…it is for show but what will feckless members of the GOP do? They can showboat “across the isle” support with fellow Dems. The present GOP is more likely to throw cold water on their base than red meat.
For show? You really think this is for show? Nope. The democrats are dead serious about removing Rep. Greene. Just as they are fucking seriously working on reversing the election in Iowa and removing Republican Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks and replacing her with the democrat Rita Hart. Simply having the majority in the House isn’t enough for them. They must remove as many Republicans as they can to seal their majority. So don’t ever think what the alt-left, lunatic liberal democrats do in the House is just “for show”. It isn’t. They are dead serious in everything they do.
Precedent be damned. The democrats don’t care about the people. They care about their power and will do everything and anything necessary to preserve that unrestrained power now that they control the House, Senate, and White House.
Agreed. This isn’t for show. They are serious about this. They know that they do not have the votes but they’ve been lobbying Republicans. They are thinking they only need to convince 71 House Republicans.
We have to stop thinking the things the Democratic Party does is for a show. The Democratic Party leaders are corrupt and frankly un-American in their actions but they do what the GOP often fails to do and that is pick a target and fight until the target is destroyed.
Yes, of course it’s for show, and they are not serious. They know they haven’t got the numbers, and there will not be 71 Republicans to support it. They couldn’t even get more than a handful of Republicans to support removing her from her committees, which is a much less serious matter. How are they going to get 71 for expulsion?
Thank you I was an idiot in my own comment because I forgot what the majority requirement for doing this actually is.
<blockquote.Yes, of course it’s for show, and they are not serious.
Again, the lunatic liberal democrats that currently control our government are dead serious about removing Greene. And they are dead serious about overturning a legally certified Iowa election to install the democrat, Rita Hart, as the winner of the election. Whether or not they have the votes, or are able to get the votes, is irrelevant. They are seriously attempting to do these things and will use any means necessary to accomplish their goals.
But if you want to consider it just “show” go right ahead.
(Oh, and they’ll get the votes the same way they got Mitch to retire. Something to consider when you claim it’s all for show.)
Lucifer, it is literally impossible for them to be serious about removing Greene, when they know they can’t get the numbers. Some of them may seriously want her removed, but their fake attempt to do so is by definition mere posturing.
They are certainly seriously considering reversing the result in Iowa, since the constitution explicitly makes them the judge of the result. “Legally certified Iowa election” is a bullshit political phrase; legally the result is not up to Iowa, it’s up to the House and only the House. But we will have to see how they handle it. At least officially Pelosi is saying they will honestly try to figure out who really won. Of course none of us trust her, but that doesn’t prove she’s lying. The fact that she provisionally seated Miller-Meeks, when she didn’t have to, can’t be ignored. It proves that she’s following some sort of standard that passes in her own mind for honesty, even if it’s not something recognizable to us, so we can’t predict what it will tell her to do. If you think otherwise then explain why she did that. Why didn’t she just seat Hart immediately, or at least keep the seat empty?
What the hell are you talking about? Mitch has not retired, The fact that on your planet he has is indeed something to consider when evaluating your words.
They want to see how many Republicans they can get to vote with them.
They’ve already seen how many Republicans they could get to vote with them, merely to remove her from her committees, which is really no big deal, and the answer was “almost none”. So they already know the absolute maximum number that might vote with them to expel her.
Better to take back political control, then they will revolt, and have to be given a bit of justice.
The expulsion motion will fail or succeed, but it is real, not fake.
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows, and Milhouse knows. Would you be so kind as to tell us if the guys in Teheran are posturing for their base, or do they really want to destroy Israel and the United States?
By the way, “posturing” seems to akin to “joshing” or “just kidding”. Some topics should be above kidding about.
In the old Soviet Union, and in today’s China, ‘The Party’ would have her arrested and sent off to the Gulag. That is, if not summarily shot.
In America ‘The Party’ can’t do that. Yet. So for now they’ll settle for kicking her out of Congress if they can. Until they can hang a ‘white supremacist’ sign on her and treat her as a terrorist and an enemy of the state.
The next time Republicans have a majority in the House, there should be an expulsion resolution for every one of these co-sponsors who is still a member. Identical wording.
It would be purely symbolic of course. It might send the media to their fainting-couches, which is always a good thing. And if the Demoncrat members get lazy about showing up for work, the speaker can call a vote on a few expulsions on short notice.
Demoncrat members shouldn’t have a single day of comfort or ease in the next congress. Committee assignments, staff budgets, office space should be one vote away from vanishing. Heating and air conditioning for Demoncrats should be discretionary. They should have to bring their own toilet paper.
The next time Republicans have a majority in the House
You don’t get it yet. There isn’t going to be a next time.
You’re not voting your way out of this.
So many have yet to understand this.
You’re probably right. But you’ve got to work your way through everything before you can reach that point where it’s time to fight.
It’s way past that point now. We are now trying to get past the denial, cowardice, and laziness to acquire traitors as targets and shoot.
Yet the Democrats are, and in the past have been, completely fine with Maxine Waters. Maxine “who is crazier than me?” Waters, will be saying ‘hold my beer’ any time now.
This calls for ten fold retaliation if we get the house in 2022. The Democrats need to learn to knock it off and the best way to do that is remove every Democrat who heads a committee and Nancy Pelosi, along with “the squad”.
So exactly who in America voted for Twitter to be their elected representative?
This shit’s gotta stop.
Apparently Pelosi blocked it
I keep seeing posts here that speak of “when we next win the majority”. That is no voting our way out of this with election fraud blessed by the Supreme Court and about to be made the law of the land. They are trying to expel a member who disagrees with them, not someone who has legal or constitutional cause for removal. In and of itself, her one seat changes nothing as they will still have a bare majority. However as a signal to anyone who opposes the Democrat that neither the law nor the Constitution counts and that the Democrats will show no mercy. . . it is an excellent warning. Anyone who says that the Republicans will win the next election is either in fantasyland or a collaborator. The Democrats count the votes and with the passage of HR 1 that will be forever unless more kinetic means are applied by either side. I rather suspect that as soon as the Democrats intimidate the GOPe enough, the arrests and/or disappearances will start.
TINVOWOOT
Subotai Bahadur
Even assuming HR 1 passes and becomes law it will be tied up in CT for a long time, certainly through the 2022 elections. This is a law that impacts the entire nation so a nationwide injunction is appropriate. Judge shopping for a nice DJT appointed federal judge is critical.
Now if post 2022 election the HoR hasn’t flipped to r control then you are very much correct. It becomes way more difficult to win when the rules favor fraud.
It would be nice to think so, but on what grounds could it be challenged? I don’t know enough details to say for sure that there’s nothing to challenge, but from the few details I have seen reported I can’t think of anything that would get a hearing in court, at least as far as congressional elections are concerned. The constitution clearly gives congress the authority to regulate those.
I can perhaps see a challenge to its application to presidential elections, but that wouldn’t affect 2022.
The battle against it has to be in the senate. It would be nice if we could peel off a few votes in the house, but I can’t see that happening. The Democrats are too committed to this. It may be that the only way to get them to relent might be to convince enough of them that if it passes there will be a literal civil war.
“Twitter has also reportedly suspended Greene from the platform. Her account still exists, but the last tweet came 16 hours ago.”
Then: Twitter locks accounts based on the content of tweets that violate a random and dynamically changing set of rules.
Now: Twitter locks accounts anticipating a conservative will tweet something they won’t like because they can.
The twitter block was a ‘mistake’, says Twitter (now).
Likewise, the same article notes that the Democratic leadership did not back the expulsion resolution (now).
The hard-core Left is still testing the waters in the Congress.
I think every time Twitter or Facebook makes a “mistake” that blocks a public figure, they should be required to choose one executive to be publicly flogged and then executed. I suspect the “mistakes” would miraculously cease.

It’s amazing how such mistakes only ever affect conservatives, not progressives.
