While you were focused on The Atlantic, Trump dealt a devastating blow to Critical Race Theorists

After Trump administration announced plans to end Critical Race Theory and White Privilege training for federal employees, a leading Critical Race Theory law professor pleaded for help: “I’ve often wondered what our allies would do when they came for us. Now we’ll see.”

Everyone has been focused for the past two days on the story in The Atlantic, attributed to anonymous sources, about things Trump supposedly said about troops two years ago, something so far that every person who has gone on record has denied. While you were focused on that Crisis News Cycle, Trump took a step the implications of which could be devastating over time to the peddlers of racial conflict under the academic construct of Critical Race Theory.

Critical Race Theory, and its components such as “antiracism” and “white privilege” is something we will be writing a lot about. In fact, Legal Insurrection Foundation will be rolling out soon a research report on how deeply and coercively those doctrines are being forced onto students, faculty, and staff at colleges and universities across the country.

The role of CRT in federal employee training has received a lot of attention lately thanks mostly to the efforts of Christopher Rufo, who exposed deeply racist and offensive anti-white training at federal nuclear labs, and the airing of those findings on Tucker Carlson’s show.

The result was that the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, at Trump’s direction, has started the process to identify and terminate such training in the federal government.

Here is the OMB Memorandum announcing the move (emphasis added):

September 4, 2020
M-20-34
MEMORANDUM FOR THE HEADS OF EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES
FROM: Russell Vought, Director
SUBJECT: Training in the Federal Government

It has come to the President’s attention that Executive Branch agencies have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to date “training” government workers to believe divisive, antiAmerican propaganda.

For example, according to press reports, employees across the Executive Branch have been required to attend trainings where they are told that “virtually all White people contribute to racism” or where they are required to say that they “benefit from racism.” According to press reports, in some cases these training have further claimed that there is racism embedded in the belief that America is the land of opportunity or the belief that the most qualified person should receive a job.

These types of “trainings” not only run counter to the fundamental beliefs for which our Nation has stood since its inception, but they also engender division and resentment within the Federal workforce. We can be proud that as an employer, the Federal government has employees of all races, ethnicities, and religions. We can be proud that Americans from all over the country seek to join our workforce and dedicate themselves to public service. We can be proud of our continued efforts to welcome all individuals who seek to serve their fellow Americans as Federal employees. However, we cannot accept our employees receiving training that seeks to undercut our core values as Americans and drive division within our workforce.

The President has directed me to ensure that Federal agencies cease and desist from using taxpayer dollars to fund these divisive, un-American propaganda training sessions. Accordingly, to that end, the Office of Management and Budget will shortly issue more detailed guidance on implementing the President’s directive. In the meantime, all agencies are directed to begin to identify all contracts or other agency spending related to any training on “critical race theory,” “white privilege,” or any other training or propaganda effort that teaches or suggests either (1) that the United States is an inherently racist or evil country or (2) that any race or ethnicity is inherently racist or evil. In addition, all agencies should begin to identify all available avenues within the law to cancel any such contracts and/or to divert Federal dollars away from these unAmerican propaganda training sessions.

The President, and his Administration, are fully committed to the fair and equal treatment of all individuals in the United States. The President has a proven track record of standing for those whose voice has long been ignored and who have failed to benefit from all our country has to offer, and he intends to continue to support all Americans, regardless of race, religion, or creed. The divisive, false, and demeaning propaganda of the critical race theory movement is contrary to all we stand for as Americans and should have no place in the Federal government.

Whether this gets done will depend on whether Trump is reelected. CRT is the intellectual beating heart of the Democratic Party, and there is zero chance of reform if Biden is elected. To the contrary, CRT training and enforcement will be driven deeper into the heart of the bureaucracy under a Biden-Harris administration.

But Trump’s move is viewed as a mortal threat by the CRT movement. One of the leading academics on CRT, UCLA and Columbia law professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, certainly is worried. Crenshaw, my former law school classmate who invented the term and ideology of intersectionality, tweeted in desperation that she wondered if CRT’s allies would come to their assistance:

So woke up to the news that CRT is banned as the greatest threat to Western Civilization. This is McCarthyism 101. I’ve often wondered what our allies would do when they came for us. Now we’ll see.

https://twitter.com/sandylocks/status/1302322897273253888

Of course, this is hyperbole. CRT isn’t “banned,” the federal government simply will no longer impose that ideology on federal employees.

But it does present a grave threat to CRT, which is the unchallenged ideological champion of radical faculties and students, and increasingly corporate human resources departments. If this is how the head of the federal government reacts to such training, how will Republican governors? And will students, parents, and alumni at public and private universities start to question why CRT is being shoved down the throats of the entire campus through the proliferation of mandatory coursework and training.

So Trump’s move doesn’t change anything yet. But it could be the spark that lights the fire. The fear of speaking up and pushing back may be over.

They haven’t come for him yet. Critical race “theorists” have not been arrested and nothing has happened to them, in spite of the great harm they’ve done to our country. That situation might change. We’ll see. If it does, they earned it.

    Exactly.

All this means is we aren’t buying what they’re selling. They can either find other customers or look for another line of work.

Colonel Travis in reply to Dantzig93101. | September 5, 2020 at 9:57 pm

It demonstrates how they think, rather, how poorly they think. They believe any disagreement = morally bad, like we’re gonna round them up and throw them in jail or fine them. No, that’s what the left does. Either they are ignorant of history or liars to themselves and others for not acknowledging this.

Me giving these genuine racists my money to tell me that because I’m white that I’M the racist for nothing other than my whiteness and the generations of whitey who came before me (who set up a system to allow them the freedom of speech they abuse without fear of persecution, oh the irony) is the height of lunacy. They’re free to talk about racism all they want. Stop making me pay for it.

It’s the signal to ramp up the riots, looting, and destruction. That’s what their “allies” are good for.

    JusticeDelivered in reply to Dantzig93101. | September 6, 2020 at 10:12 pm

Dare I suggest that Kimberlé Crenshaw has been B slapped.

Is there any chance for a class action lawsuit against her?

Now, now about killing Affirmative action and allow companies to test past affirmative hires for actual competence, and dismiss those who are not qualified?

There is a huge problem in industry, in that colleges have foisted large numbers of of people on business who are flat out incompetent.

Critical race theory and “diversity training”–
I recall being lectured about “white privilege” when sworn in to the Foreign Service. Here was this woman going on and on about “white privilege”, and in the audience was a man from a mining family in the southern Appalachians and another from a Rust Belt Polishtown. I will never deny that African-Americans, much of the Hispanic population, and the Indians have gotten badly treated in American history; but I will always deny that “whiteness” gives you a pass.

LibraryGryffon in reply to Kepha H. | September 5, 2020 at 9:23 pm

If being white is such an automatic privilege grant, why do we have all these people like Elizabeth Warren and that prof at George Washington pretending to be not-white? You don’t do crap like that if it isn’t advantageous.

But no one on the left seems to want to actually answer that question. I’m not wondering why.

      oldgoat36 in reply to LibraryGryffon. | September 6, 2020 at 3:44 am

They won’t answer it, especially since they are not asked the question.

We have a media that is primarily propaganda based. They push the agenda and will make things up if they have to because they must support the cause.

And these same people get get an “aw shucks” when they apologize in their typical phony way afterwards. Nothing bad happens to them. They aren’t even embarrassed about it.

Dusty Pitts in reply to Kepha H. | September 5, 2020 at 11:31 pm

Apparently I’m supposed to feel guilty because I have the “privilege” of paying taxes and obeying laws, of which non-whites are deprived the opportunity, or something.

Well, I’ll own it. I’m over here paying taxes and obeying laws LIKE A BOSS!

While I approve, I”m skeptical that this will be effective.

The people peddling this garbage will do a slight rewrite on their promotional materials, lie about what they didn’t rewrite and keep going just like they have been. True believers in the government will claim to be in full compliance with the president’s order, while actually undermining it at every step.

The left doesn’t quit. This is not a win, just a skirmish.

JusticeDelivered in reply to irv. | September 6, 2020 at 10:16 pm

Which is why I think we need to give business and government management a way to purge incompetents.

Cutting their funding is a cute start. But these people are enemies of the republic and they need to be stomped into a mudhole.

This is by far one of the most stealth moves by POTUS. I love it. Quick now do it to all universities that receive public funds.

    Including federally backed student loans.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Paul. | September 6, 2020 at 11:24 am

There shouldn’t even BE federally-backed student loans. If there have to be, then STEM only. Something that assures at least some of the money is paid back in the form of tax revenues.

He can’t do that. I won’t even say “unfortunately”, because the first amendment and academic freedom are both fortunate things, but in this case they mean that this poison has to be tolerated in academia. But not in the executive branch.

      daniel_ream in reply to Milhouse. | September 6, 2020 at 11:33 am

Nothing in the Constitution grants the federal government the power to spend money on universities. Eliminating the Dept of Education and all federal funding for education is not only within Trump’s power, it’s an obligation.

JusticeDelivered in reply to Milhouse. | September 6, 2020 at 10:20 pm

Let’s start by destroying people like Kimberlé Crenshaw who are pushing this crap.

AND do it for high schools and elementary schools!

1. What took so long? I believe the President acted on this as soon as he became aware of it. So my question is how is it that nobody in the administration knew about this for the last 3.5 years? Surely someone at one of these sessions would have brought it to the attention of someone higher up in the department, and in a short time someone with access to the President would have heard about it. Indeed, forget the President, how is it that no cabinet secretary or under-secretary heard about this and put an end to it in their department?

2. Ending funding is great if it’s happening outside the government. But within the executive branch, which is entirely under the President’s control, it shouldn’t be allowed even without funding. Even if these people offer to teach their classes for free, bringing all their own materials, and they figure out how the employees’ time isn’t costing the government anything, it should still not be allowed. The President can’t prevent his employees from attending such classes on their own time and off government premises, if they wish to do so, but he doesn’t have to allow it within his workplace.

3. I don’t see how this strikes a blow at the theorists, let alone a devastating one. Their fortress from which they spread this poison is academia, not government offices. What the President is now stopping is merely a symptom, not the disease. And even at government universities academic freedom means they can’t be stopped from teaching it.

It may, in fact, be just a baby step, but formal acknowledgement of the progressive condition normalized by this quasi-religious doctrine raises public awareness and motivates discernment of its transgressive founding principles.

Dusty Pitts in reply to Milhouse. | September 5, 2020 at 11:33 pm

They can’t be stopped from teaching it.

They can and must be stopped from requiring it.

I think the reason “that nobody in the administration knew about this for the last 3.5 years” is that the premise is incorrect. In my opinion, the President is standing almost alone in the Swamp and they did know.

Part of it is that the Swamp is so pervasive (and includes Republicans) and part is due to making a number of poor appointments. For example, I think listening to Kushner and firing Christie’s transition team and not making CC Attorney General – apparently because CC put Kushner’s father in prison – was a monumental error. Sessions was a catastrophic appointment and Barr has not yet proven to be much better, evidently deciding to have no major action until after the election, if then. (Trump also nominated Rosenstein.)

      carolmcl in reply to jb4. | September 6, 2020 at 11:53 pm

Yeah, I’m not 100% a fan of Kushner. I like his middle east dealings, but the prison reform thing, not so much. And I can agree about CC.

johnny dollar in reply to Milhouse. | September 6, 2020 at 2:27 am

    Excellent point, all.

Barry in reply to Milhouse. | September 6, 2020 at 9:59 am

“So my question is how is it that nobody in the administration knew about this for the last 3.5 years?”

Can you point us to a comment where YOU pointed this out?

I’m quite sure there were some in the administration that knew about this. And they kept quiet for a variety of reasons.

“Critical Race Theory” is an ostensibly secular doctrine developed under diversity dogma of the Pro-Choice, selective, opportunistic, quasi-religion (“ethics”), which denies individual dignity, denies individual conscience, encourages color quotas, color blocs, and affirmative discrimination, not limited to racism, sexism, and other class-based taxonomies based on low-information attributes normalized by the Progressive Church. That said, social justice (i.e. relativistic) anywhere is injustice everywhere. Baby Lives Matter. Principles Matter.

A very important first step in a long march to end this sort of indoctrination. This will take time due to resistant bureaucrats, challenges ect.

This also, perhaps more importantly, brings the issue of this kind of indoctrination before the public, providing them the opportunity to weigh in. Will exposure at Federal Government cause folks to review their State and local government, their local schools and Universities? Likely to be much less of government supported CRT within red States going forward.

Further, let’s look at the CRT curriculum and do a word search and replace. If we do so and replace white with any other ‘race’ or gender identity or a religion, among others, this CRT would be declared discriminatory and multi forms of ‘ist’.

That being the case why is it being taught? Either we as a nation and society wish to be discriminatory or not. I was taught to judge each person on their actions, not those of their Parents much less the actions real and perceived of some amorphous concept like ‘race’. The leftists seem to disagree.

The tweet is a textbook example of a complete lack of self-reflection.

1. The author of the tweet does not realize she immediately projects and attempts to mock hyperbole of her opponent that did not exist (no one called it the “greatest threat to western civilization”)

2. Then, she engages in her own version of that hyperbole by calling it McCarthyism.

Correction: The tweet is a textbook example of a complete lack of RATIONAL self-reflection.

Under CRT, just like Marxism, the world is divided into Oppressors and the Oppressed. When the Oppressors take an action that by it’s nature Oppresses the Oppressed, they are justified in taking an action in response. The Oppressive action doesn’t actually have to oppress, all it has to be is an action *by* the Oppressors, and the ‘action in response’ does not need to abide by the law, because after all laws were established by the Oppressors in order to maintain their dominion over the Oppressed.

Yeah, I know it’s crazy, but it’s the way they’ve been trained to emote. (not think, because thinking on their own is a Bad Thing)

Groundhog Day in reply to georgfelis. | September 6, 2020 at 4:18 am

“Under CRT, just like Marxism, (…)”

Well, it’s IS Marxism (v2.0), which is called Post-Modernism, invented by some French guys in the 60’s – because nobody wanted to be a Communist. So to make it work, they simply replaced Rich & Poor with Oppressor & Oppressed (with ‘Oppressor’ being the white, cis-gender, heteronormative male, while offering white females an exit-strategy through feminism – by inventing the ‘white patriarchy’, as there is no patriarchy in black and/or Muslim communities/countries – and maintaining this would be racist, of course)…

I don’t know what the fuss is about. I haven’t used a CRT in years.

But apart from that, who wants to bet that the ACLU will sue and find some federal judge to rule that CRT training is a constitutional MANDATE. That’s what we’re up against.

Time to do something similar to DEFUND slandering and labeling CONGRESS CRITTERS.

Kamala Harris Promotes

‘Dangerous Conspiracy Theory’

About Coronavirus Vaccine

Weasil-Zippers

I’m sure a federal district court judge will issue an injunction and it will die in appellate courts.

It’s a shame. If anything, congress should pass a statute denying federal funds to universities and public school districts that teach Critical Race Theory.

There’s a good reason Dante put the false teachers and their ilk in the 8th Circle of Hell, close to Satan, for the magnitude of their “sin”.

Any person who spells the name “Kimberly” by substituting the “y” for an “e” with French accent aigu, has already proved their childish narcissism.

It makes perfect sense that a UCLA and Columbia law professor is helping to contrive and propagate this utterly poisonous nonsense that is so manifestly destructive and corrosive to our civics and to notions of national unity and purpose.

Check out her photo. It’s a culture thing. Culturally appropriate a white name, then spell it in a wacky way for deniability. Kimberlé is actually a traditional Wakandan name.

I would assume her parents named her…but I could be wrong. This might be something she affected as a teen.

Marxism’s sect CRT is part of the destruction ow western civilization, hundreds of million deaths proves me right.

Our government has been so strangled by outrageously expensive and radical bureaucracy that almost none of the core purposes can be effectively addresses anymore. Everywhere you look, more and more time is wasted on social “training” (because we are so evil and toxic) or creating redundancies to address imagined gender, sexual, race or other grievances.

Now we have made voting so technological and over-staffed to make it “easier” for everyone to vote that what used to get done very competently by hand in one day can’t be accomplished in several weeks at a cost that is many time greater than the hand-counted paper ballot system.

We could greatly improve government effectiveness by paring everything back down to what is necessary to accomplish its core missions. There too many employed by government “digging holes” and “refilling holes”. Time to throw a lot of people off of the gravy train.

I’ve been saying for a very long time that we could slash government spending by half, even the black hole unaccountable Pentagon, and end up with better government and a stronger economy. Being stupid is so complicated.

After 8 years of Obama affirming CRT and calling us racists, I welcome Trump’s message and am glad he is taking action.

This should have been done the first week in office.

Perhaps. However, I think Trump had many more issues to deal with, and was plenty busy those first weeks in office. Additionally, after the “Summer of Love”, Americans have a far better appreciation of the toxic nature of “Critical Race Theory”.

After he is re-elected in a landslide, Trump will be in an excellent position to start slashing the government bureaucracy in earnest. Especially if Republicans retake the House and kill any talk of impeachment.

Speaker McCarthy would be a strong ally. I’ve changed my mind about him. I was leery at first but now am very impressed. He looks and sounds like the real deal. Let’s give him a chance.

Milhouse in reply to southtexas. | September 8, 2020 at 4:52 pm

I’m sure it would have been, had Trump known about it. My question is why it took so long for someone to bring it to his attention.

Sanity returns, I am for the first time in my voting life ( I am 75 ) which is quite a few elections, local, state, and federal, will be voting straight R in local, state, and federal. We must send a MESSAGE!

Trump has the Dems all lined up for demolition. I would like to see him have rallies featuring segments like “While the Democrats were focusing completely on the Russia- hoax, here is what I accomplished.

While the Democrats were focusing completely on impeaching me (remember the outbreak of the Wuhan flu?), here is what I accomplished.

While the Democrats were focusing completely on impeaching me (remember the outbreak of the Wuhan flu?), here is what I accomplished.

While the Democrats were engaged completely in staging violent riots and looting, here is what I accomplished.

That would be a very long list. And he did it all with hardly any help at all from those dickless Republicans.

November can’t come fast enough.

CRT and woke leftism in general aims to seed revolution. It’s not just a divisive ideology; it’s also subversive. Any society it does not topple, it will render dysfunctional. Public funds should never be allowed to support it.

Defund the Frankfurt School!
