Sunday, Rep. Ilhan Omar joined Face the Nation where she used the platform to promote the boycott, divest, and sanction movement (BDS) against Israel, though she denies supporting the movement while running for office.
After attempting to justify her controversial 9/11 remarks (“some people did something”), Omar suggested that BDS was the best avenue to “advance the cause of peace.”

MARGARET BRENNAN: You were specifically banned by the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu from visiting that country. He faces a very tough election in the next few days. If he doesn’t win, are you going to try to go back and do you stand by your call for a boycott of Israel?
REP. OMAR: I certainly hope that the people of Israel make a different decision. And my hope is that they recognize that his existence, his policies, his rhetoric really is contradictory to the peace that we are all hoping that that region receives and receives soon. Just right now if you look at the annexation that’s taking place, for many of us in Congress there has been long standing support for its two state solution and this annexation now is going to make sure that that peace process does not happen. And we will not get to a two state solution. I think what is really important is for people to understand that you have to give people the opportunity to seek the kind of justice they want in a peaceful way. And I think the opportunity to boycott divest sanction is the kind of pressure that leads to that peaceful process.
Just over a month ago, Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib were denied entry to Israel for their support of the BDS movement. PM Netanyahu said, “it became clear that they were planning a campaign whose sole purpose was to strengthen the boycott and negate Israel’s legitimacy.”

Anti-Israel representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, both of whom support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement (though they denied that while running for office), are planning a trip to Israel. BDS is widely recognized as anti-Semitic and subterfuge for the destruction of Israel. Both also credibly have been accused of making anti-Semitic statements themselves.
The trip reportedly was to include the Temple Mount, where the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are built on top of the destroyed Jewish Temples. It is the holiest place in Judaism, but has been used for a century by Arab rulers to incited violence against Jews. Jews are barred from praying on the Temple Mount, but are allowed to visit, which invariably leads to Arab harassment of the visitors and often riots.
The plan by Omar and Tlaib to visit the Temple Mount was considered a provocation that could lead to violence, or at least be used by Palestinians against Israel.
Under Israeli law, Israel can bar entry to supporters of BDS, though it is not absolute and the government has discretion. The Israeli government initially decided to allow them entry to maintain good relations with Congress.
There were numerous reports that Trump was not happy with that decision, and conveyed messages that Omar and Tlaib should be denied entry.

If it’s the only source reporting a story then it’s almost certainly not true, and if reliable sources are also reporting it then why not cite them instead? But this story has been known for a long time, having been reported by genuine journalists like David Steinberg, so the fact that GP picked it up too is neither here nor there.
She can’t be run out of the country, no matter what she does. She’s a US citizen, so it’s her country as much as ours.

Is there any fire behind all that smoke regarding the multiple allegations of immigration fraud? I do not know. I also do not feel confident that the allegations of immigration fraud will be investigated.

No, Paul. It makes absolutely no difference what her original name was, or what misrepresentations her father may have made when the family immigrated. She was lawfully present in the USA, she applied for naturalization in the usual way, and nobody even alleges that she told any lies on the process. Therefore her naturalization was valid and cannot ever be revoked. Any fraud she may have committed after that time, including immigration fraud if in fact she did so, cannot affect her status.
Hmmm… That is quite alarming Milhouse. We know that in addition to individuals committing fraud during the immigration process and during the refugee process the international refugee program is wrought with corruption & bias(i.e. Persecuted Christians can rot and hold their breath in refugee camps). It is very disturbing that their is nothing that can be done in the face of fraud. That certainly does not encourage me to support
a refugee process that can be gamed and not administered.
I don’t understand why you find this alarming. There is no allegation that Ilhan, whatever her name was, committed any fraud in entering the USA. She was a child, after all, and incapable of committing fraud. Nor is there any allegation that she committed any fraud in becoming a citizen at the age of 18. So on what grounds could her naturalization possibly be found invalid? Even if her father did commit a fraud, how is that her problem?

It has been alleged that the woman claiming to be Omar and her siblings did not qualify for refugee status and instead posed as members of another family. This would be fraud.

A vast majority of people in the western world are good and decent people. So, when someone sinister like Ilhan Omar, whom is already pretty well known to the public-at-large outside of the little patch of dirt that elected her to be the opposite of good and decent, publicly and vocally voices her antisemitism and then subsequently publicly and vocally endorses and pushes the Anti-Israel BDS scheme — the general public-at-large being vastly good and decent sees it and perceives it for what it truly is and turns away from Ilhan Omar and BDS in disgust.

This is all part of a process where Omar and Tlaib intend to make antisemitism seem to be a mainstream liberal trend. From the statements made by the Democrats and their candidates, I think it’s working.
I don’t understand why most American Jews still support Democrats, who keep turning against them. Obama stabbed Israel in the back many times, yet that didn’t seem to diminish their support.

It depends where, and what sort of Orthodox Jews. YU and the OU used to be solidly liberal and Democrat, and people who come from that environment mostly still are, although the Republicans have lately been making headway there. Hence such well known Orthodox examples as Jack Lew, David Luchins, and Shelly Silver. But in the haredi communities of Brooklyn the picture is very different. Almost everyone is registered as a Democrat so they can vote in D primaries, but in November they usually vote R.
