Just a little fact to continue shedding light on the claim by Elizabeth Warren to be Cherokee.
Want to know how easily the claim to be Cherokee was thrown around?
While it’s been noted that Warren’s husband, Bruce Mann, submitted recipes to the Pow Wow Chow cookbook, no one has focused on the fact that Mann claimed to be Cherokee in the book:
I’ve been unable to find any indication that Mann asserts actual Cherokee ancestry.
How insulting to the Cherokees that their heritage was used and abused by pretenders so cavalierly.
Update: Warren herself was accused of plagiarizing her own recipes. Per commenter Boss Jim, it looks like Mann’s recipe appeared previously — word for word — in the Oswego (NY) Palladium Times on January 24, 1983, the year before Pow Wow Chow was published. Presumably the recipe circulated in other newspapers and magazines as well.

The leaders of the left are such charlatans about everything, it becomes second nature to assume an identity for identity politics reasons.
Then they naturally become fluent in condemning anyone that questions their bodacious lies. “How dare you question my integrity”
But there it is in print … not “might be slightly Cherokee” … not “would like to meet some real Cherokees”… no Elizabeth and Bruce are both “CHEROKEE”.

Obama offers a budget of lies, that gets zero Democrat votes. So Reid just offers no budget. Democrats dare Republicans to run on being fiscally responsible, since they are running on class warfare and redistribution of wealth.
There are plenty of lies, but buying votes with promises of free stuff is the Democrat game. And the resultant deficits are unpatriotic and irresponsible, to quote Obama.

What you said is true as far as it goes…but Elizabeth Warren went further.
It’s not uncommon for certain lefties to self-consciously ‘ethnicize’ their names in order to claim some sort of non-WASP identity. One example that comes to mind is Rosebud Denovo, who was shot to death by Oakland police after she broke into the home of the Chancellor of UC Berkeley armed with a machete. Rosebud’s real name was Laura Miller, not nearly as ‘appropriate’ for a radical activist.
What Elizabeth Warren did was far worse – she didn’t change her name to add an ethnic tinge to her identity; she lied and identified herself as a documented Cherokee in order to cut the line for job hiring. As a white woman from Oklahoma with a law degree from a second-rate school, Warren didn’t have a chance. But as a Cherokee, well….that’s another story entirely.
So now she sits at Harvard with a $350,000 a year job, due to the fact that she lied about her ethnic background. Nice work if you are willing to sell your soul.

The Pow Wow Chow cookbook is rather confusing. I’m off to check my favorite Chinese cookbook, it may have an authentic Chinese recipe for Haggis.

Here is a fine song about American Indians sung by Buffy Sainte-Marie called “Now that the Buffalo’s Gone.” Warren likely heard it when she was in high school in the 1960s.

Here is another song written in the early 1970s that talks about being part-Cherokee and leaving Oklahoma. It is called “Sweet America.” This version is from 1976. It is also sung by Sainte-Marie. Warren might have heard this while she was studying at Rutgers or teaching in Texas. Warren had likely not yet hatched the scam to get into two Ivy League law schools beginning in the 1980s.

Now in fairness, Mann doesn’t actually state any claim as author for the recipe. It may be that he simply submitted the recipe he had seen elsewhere and couldn’t site a reference.
It is a little known fact that Jefferson did the same thing with the Declaration of Independence. It was actually first published in an earlier edition of “Pow Wow Chow” and the rest is history. Of course, Jefferson was also Cherokee…
Falsely claiming Cherokee heritage is only half of Elizabeth Warren’s crime. In doing so, she denigrated and turned her back on her African American heritage.

Y’all just don’t get it, do you? This recipe just shows how deep and ancient are Lizzy’s Cherokee roots! Don’t you know that the Indians migrated from what is now the Asian mainland? This recipe is obviously thousands of years old and predates the land-bridge migration of the ancient People. This also explains those ancient Indian tales about eating some their ancestral foods, and being hungry again just a half hour later. Amazing…
