On June 23, 1969, the Court closed its last scheduled sitting with a formal Courtroom ceremony in which retiring Chief Justice Earl Warren administered a combined oath to incoming Chief Justice Warren E. Burger. Under Chief Justice Burger, the Court began to hold special sittings to receive the commissions of newly appointed Justices. The first ceremony of this kind was held for Justice Harry A. Blackmun on June 9, 1970. During this special ceremony, referred to as the investiture, the Chief Justice generally administers the Constitutional Oath privately to the new Justice in the Justices’ Conference Room, the commission is presented and read aloud in the Courtroom and the Chief Justice administers the Judicial Oath in the Courtroom. Burger also started a tradition of having the new Justice sit in the historic John Marshall Bench Chair at the beginning of the ceremony.

Brett Kavanaugh’s Investiture ceremony is on Thursday, November 8. But due to security concerns, it will not be broadcast live and he will not walk down the courthouse steps.
The Supreme Court says new Justice Brett Kavanaugh won’t take the traditional walk down the courthouse steps after his ceremonial installation on the court because of security concerns.
Kavanaugh’s investiture ceremony is scheduled for Thursday morning in the courtroom. It is customary for a new justice to walk down the 44 marble steps in front of the building, accompanied by the chief justice. The moment provides a chance for news organizations to photograph the justice, since the courtroom event is closed to cameras.
Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Friday that the change is being made “out of an abundance of caution due to security concerns.”
This is not surprising given the unhinged and dangerous behavior shown by opponents of Kavanaugh’s confirmation, including disruption of the hearings, confrontations with Senators in hallways, and attempts to storm the Supreme Court itself.

Maybe it is time, and beyond, for the Justice department to stop manipulating the political prosses and focus instead deal with the enablers of these domestic political terrorists. When it is quite apparent to the layman that these people are organized in there violence things are out of control.

Our nominee to the Supreme Court of the United States was denied the principle of due process and almost burnt at the stake as a witch.
Now, as a Justice of that Supreme Court, it’s not safe for him to take the ceremonial walk down the steps of the Supreme Court.
Because the Marxists might shoot him.
I’m still curious about where our line is between a “Legal Insurrection” and civil war. Does it even exist? If Kavanaugh were to be assassinated, would we write long articles lamenting the fall of the Republic or would we pick up a rifle?
I’ve been asking for over a year now. It’s a legitimate question. Why won’t the writers here take the time to answer it?
“Legal Insurrection” is a defined phrase which implies that the participants opperate within the standing rule of law. “Civil War” however is an oxymoronic phrase in that historically the primary aggressors feel that because they do not agree with the laws in place what ever action they take is justified. I am in no hurry for the latter, and strongly support the former.

If push comes to shove there are many of us, especially veterans, who are willing to pick up arms to defend this country “from all enemies, foreign and domestic”. We dodged a bullet when Hillary failed to become our Queen; with luck we will continue to survive when Trump is re-elected in 2020. What will happen in 2024 is impossible to even guess about now.
All bets are off if an assassination occurs. And we need to remember that every single mass shooter and attempted assassin in the last few decades has come from the Left. And they are ramping up the violent rhetoric even more now with, among other violence-inciting Democrats, Mad Maxine Waters exhorting her base to “take out Trump, and then get Pence!”
Well, a single shooting started WW One, so why not the second American civil war?
