Tom Cotton Says Dianne Feinstein Will be Investigated Over Leaked Ford Letter
“Cotton added that the Democrats will be to blame if women stop coming forward to report sexual assaults”
Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton appeared on Face the Nation this weekend and claimed, among other things, that Dianne Feinstein and her staff will be investigated for leaking Christine Blasey Ford’s letter to the media.

Sen. Tom Cotton said Sunday that Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office will be investigated to determine whether or not they leaked the confidential letter from Christine Blasey Ford that detailed allegations of sexual misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Feinstein, who represents California and who is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, had received the letter from Ford sometime over the summer and was asked to keep it confidential. At some point, however, the letter was leaked to the press, although Feinstein denies that anyone in her office is responsible.
“They have betrayed her,” Cotton, R-Ark, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” about Ford. ” “She has been victimized by Democrats … on a search-and-destroy mission for Brett Kavanaugh.”
Cotton added that the Democrats will be to blame if women stop coming forward to report sexual assaults because Ford’s confidentiality was compromised.

Feinstein got caught flat-footed last week when she was asked about the leaking of the letter. She is still denying that she was the source of the leak.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is hitting back at GOP senators, insisting she and her staff did not leak a letter detailing the first assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
“President Trump and Senate Republicans are trying to deflect attention from Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual assault allegations by saying my staff or I leaked the letter from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford — they’re wrong,” Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, said Monday.
Her statement comes after GOP Sen. Tim Cotton (Ark.) grabbed headlines when he told CBS’s “Face the Nation” that “Feinstein and her staff is going to face an investigation for why they leaked that.”
Cotton did not say who would investigate Feinstein or on what he based his accusation.
Feinstein has repeatedly denied that she or her staff leaked the letter from Ford. Republicans have also knocked Feinstein for not immediately sharing the letter with other senators once she got it, something Feinstein says she did to protect Ford’s privacy.
According to Democrat logic, isn’t it up to Dianne Feinstein to prove that she didn’t leak the letter?

I think it is time the most egregious of our “resistance fighters” face prosecutions under 8 U.S. Code § 2385 –Advocating overthrow of Government.
Wouldn’t such a Stature apply to the actions of Comey, Brennan, Page, McCabe and perhaps Rosenstein — if he really did offer to wear a wire?

I would sure be interested in a discussion of where this conspiracy crosses the line legally into treason territory. Seems the very idea of “The Resistance” and trashing every constitutional process is a good start.
Isn’t toppling the government “whatever it takes” prima facie evidence of treason? Can’t we take their word for 1) they are communists because they openly brag about it and 2) they are conspiring to undermine our government because they openly declare it?
While I’m thinking about it, when it comes to openly attacking communism, have we Americans developed a paralyzing psychosis similar to that of the Germans regarding their Nazi past? As Ann Coulter argued in her book about the subject, Joe McCarthy may have lost his focus and went too far but the truth is that his committee sure found a ton of traitorous de facto communists throughout our government and society.
We need to get over it. Islamic terrorism isn’t the only nor biggest enemy we refuse to name, it’s the communists DOMINATING our mainstream culture and government. The creepiness of today’s America. Frog soup.

Treason requires either (a) literally taking up arms against the USA, or else (b) adhering to an enemy of the USA combined with an overt act giving that enemy aid and comfort. Nothing the “resistance” has done comes even close to that.
I fully agree with you, but who will have the guts to stand up and say it is time to investigate? I can’t think of one person.
It’s 18 USC § 2385, not 8, and no prosecution can be brought under it because it’s unconstitutional. Mere advocacy of any idea, including genocide, the reintroduction of slavery, or the violent overthrow of the US government, is protected by the first amendment. Any prosecutor who brought such charges would be sanctioned, and would lose his/her immunity to being sued personally.
Team Feinstein is the only one who had the letter. She didn’t even share it with her fellow committee members or committee chairman. Ford was a “captured” isolated stooge managed by her lawyers and Team Feinstein. Narrows the possibilities of who might have leaked doesn’t it? The Russians again? Global warming?
Not quite right – Eshoo had it, too. It was her idea for Ford to write it and she passed it on to Feinstein, likely to sidestep jeopardy under 18 USC 1001.
Still, Feinstein was directing the show. Everything points to her.
Her, or someone on her team.
It all becomes clear. This was all coordinated among Ford, Eshoo (take it as given I’m including the congresscritters’ staffs), Feinstein, and the big money Soros-funded activists/attorneys since back when Kavanaugh as announced. Ford testified that she had been in Delaware from 26 July through 7 August when she took that farcical polygraph and flew out. Ford had met with Eshoo’s staff at Eshoo’s district offices, Ford claims, and later the same week with Eshoo herself on Friday that same week. Eshoo agreed to be the go between and hand deliver the letter to Feinstein. But Ford didn’t write the letter, she said under oath, until on or about 30 July when she was in Delaware. Why did Eshoo need to be the go between since Feinstein’s office was just as close to Delaware as Eshoo’s?
This is why. This isn’t a violation of U.S. Code, it’s a violation of Senate rules. The Senate can punish both staffers and Senators for eaking committee confidential material with expulsion. But Eshoo isn’t in the Senate and isn’t subject to those rules.
Man, that Ford skank is a terrible liar. By terrible I mean she lies congenitally and lies badly. I have a strong feeling this is the reason Blasey-Ford’s own family, parents and siblings, would not and did not sign any letter supporting her or attesting to her good character. I think the prosecutor Mitchell is twelve steps ahead of her as well. I recall she asked several times when Ford had actually written the letter. On the thirtieth? Of course Ford couldn’t recall, that damned convenient memory of hers. On or about the thirtieth? I believe Ford tentatively agreed to that. While in Delaware? I believe Ford Tentatively agreed to that.
Why, it’s almost as if Mitchell already knows when Ford wrote the letter.
Almost. But I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Mitchell gave Ford and hopefully her attorneys more than enough rope to hang themselves.

She put her name on her “anonymous” letter. She took a polygraph. She hired lawyers. She obtained therapy records. She talked to Feinstein. She contacted and obtained letters of corroboration of her hearsay. What did I forget? Sure, because she really wanted to stay in the hole she crawled out of.

When it all comes out in the wash, nothing will be done with or to Feinstein. Lots of harumphing, lots of outrage, and a ton of finger-pointing. The end result will be her re-election to the Senate, and life goes on.
Not if we lend our support to her opponent. As distasteful as this is, he would be a junior member, would not know the ropes and would not be on any committee.
I’ve been thinking that very thing. He’s a communist at least in his thinking, but as a freshman he is in no position to do any damage.

Mr. or Mrs. Interviewer — “It is one thing to be the Devil’s Advocate, a legitimate function of the press. And it is quite another to be an instrument of the Democrat Party. I have given you the unvarnished truth and you have ignored it in this interview showing your own bias and blatant partisanship for all of your viewers to see.”

C’Mon man. Does anyone really think that the person(s) responsible for the leak of the letter will be identified? These people lie and obfuscate like a duck quacks. “It depends on what your definition of is is.”

Nothing is going to happen to Feinstein, even if it can be proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that she directed the leaking of Ford’s letter. We are 35 days from the midterm elections. So, the Republicans are doing their impersonation of being opposed to the Democrats on Kavanaugh. If this were last year, the Republican would have caved to the Dems weeks ago. Remember, these are the same people who refuse to fund a border wall, reduce gratuitous spending and do everything else that their Republican, and independent, constituencies have clearly stated that they want. It is all one big club, the Uniparty. And, it has one goal, stay in power for as long as possible and make tons of money while they are there.
All of these investigations, hearings, circuses, and show trials are all about 1 thing….swaying public opinion via the media, and using the newly shaped public opinion as a sword. One of the better things Trump has done is constantly call out the media and belittle them to the point that only a handful of a percentage actually think the media is in the truth business. As the trust in media has went down, the attacks and smears have went up. It’s the equivalent of telling your kids to do something with a louder voice volume after they ignored you the first time.
Investigating Difi isn’t for the purpose of nailing her legally…..it’s to neutralize her ability to do what she wants to sway public opinion.
Tom Cotton is the kind of guy we need to have as Senate Majority Leader; not the Whimp that we now have, i.e., Mitch McConnell.
Make sure that your Republican Senate Candidate supports a #DitchMitch Movement AND, supports getting the National Reciprocity Act passed in the House that has been on Chicom Mitch’s desk for most of the year collecting dust; if we have a concealed weapons permit, we ought not have to get another like the Peoples Republic of Connecticut just because they lie to collect unwarranted fees to fund their liberal governance; we ought to be able to protect ourselves everywhere we go in the United States without the tyranny of one State that doesn’t recognize the Permits issued by other States.

The common man gave the Republicans back the House and Senate on the promise that they would stymie the liberal Democrat agenda and repeal Obamacare. Neither happened. Then to make the point crystal clear, the common people elected Donald trump as President, on the clear message that they wanted Obamacare repealed, a border wall built and immigration law enforced. Again nothing happened that Trump did not do unilaterally. Now we have this incredible boondoggle of a budget which the House just passed.
So, what can be done? Electing Republicans does not work. Electing Democrats is insane. Even electing the ultimate political outsider has not stimulated the Republican to attempt to fulfill any of their constituent’s demands. The last time the government totally ignored the people we were treated to the American Revolution. How close to another one do you think we are?
At this point, I see Tom Cotton peddling a reassuring myth, one that I should not in any way believe.
