I don’t think I saw this Mass GOP web ad before, but it’s good. Too bad it’s not shorter so it could be aired:
Since today seems to be the day for Reader Polls, let me know if you think Warren will get away with her claim to be Cherokee.
By get away with it I mean that it will not hurt her enough to make any meaningful difference in the election.

Two words. Ted Kennedy.
To me, the question is: will the people of Mass. either be disgusted at her abusing the system, or admire her for doing it?
We are talking the People’s Republic of Massachusetts here. And since they feel collective guilt over Squanto, King Philip’s war, the Deerfield Massacre, etc., etc., they need Pseudojawea Warren to make them feel good.
To paraphrase a Phineas Fahrquar tweet:
“She’s once, twice, 1/32nd a lady …”
LOL. Good’n.
I think Warren believes that minorities should just shut up and vote for her. She took a job she didn’t deserve away from a deserving minority. (who wouldn’t have deserved it if that minority was white). The Dem platform is brain dead.
Agree with commenters above.
It will hurt her some, but in Mass that may not be enough to affect the result.
People in this state don’t really give a good god damn about stuff like this.
Her family lore was that there was a native american in her ancestry. Not sure why this is an issue.
Looks like Zachrel has answered the question. Amazing.
Her family lore also says that she’s 1/32 Sasquatch. Good enough for you?
That reply was meant for Zach.
persecutor Sasquatch
Substituting Sasquatch for Native American? Seriously?
Anchovy: Looks like Zachrel has answered the question.
Thought so. It’s not an issue. Just political mudslinging.
Ah, the straw man argument. Well, Zach, my family lore says my father won WWII pretty much all by himself and that I’m the best looking man in North Cackalacky. Alas, sometimes family lore is apocryphal. (Meaning bullshit, for those of you in Rio Linda).
Warren’s family lore isn’t the issue. Any ordinary fool knows you cannot rely on family lore as proof of anything, but Warren is no ordinary fool. Citing only family lore and unable to produce anything else in support of her claim, and without respect for several professional geneologists from both sides of the political fence who cannot find a whit of evidence for her claim, Warren nonethless claims to be of Cherokee descent and used the false claim to win affirmative action goodies for herself. Even after being exposed on it, she refuses to apologize and will not drop her claim. She’s a liar, Zach. And that is the issue. The Cherokee thing is nothing, merely a symptom or example of the real problem, the real issue, the underlying disease: Warren is deceitful, unethical, and will look you right square in the eye and lie to you. Since she’s running for high political office, voters have a need to know this about her in order to make an informed choice.
Henry Hawkins: Warren nonethless claims to be of Cherokee descent and used the false claim to win affirmative action goodies for herself.
There’s no evidence of that.
Henry Hawkins: She’s a liar,
It was part of her family lore, and no reason for her to disbelieve it. That there is no documentation is not unusual, and she doesn’t claim more than it is what her mother and family told her.
You left out the button for “It’s Massachusetts – whaddaya think will happen?”
If they kept voting in Ted Chappaquidik Kennedy, what’s a little (big) lie? 🙁
The Carpetbagger thing could really hurt her.
People in Masachusetts tend to have grown up in Massachusetts, and they tend to be proud of that fact. I still remember seeing the occasional “Don’t look at me!” bumper sticker on cars as a child in the Seventies – people would put it right next to the MA license plate as a reminder that in the 1972 election, Massachusetts was the only state that did not go for Nixon.
Plus, she really is a carpetbagger. Elizabeth Warren is on the record recently as considering herself an Okie through and through, that she’s so proud of being from Oklahoma and always will be, etc. – so why isn’t she running for a Senate seat in Oklahoma?
It’s weird; if she’s so proud to be an Okie, what is she even doing in Massachusetts?
The good folks of Oklahoma would call her a lying sack of sh!t and run her out of the state… probably to Arkansas. One thirty-second Cherokee isn’t even enough ‘blood to get you the key to the restroom at the Fina station.
I’m doubtful it will have a meaningful effect because the entire modern leftist ideology is based on believing lies.
This is why the liberal emphasis in schools is not on learning the basics of language and math and science, but building self-esteem and the belief that “if it is true to you, it’s true” and “your truth is equal to anyone else’ truth.”
Their entire ideology collapses if they admit there is such a thing as objective truth.
My concern is that the dems pull a “Lautenberg”.
Ask war hero Richard Blumenthal how much Northeastern liberals care about Democratic Senate candidates who tell them outrageous lies.
My suspicion/hope/prayer is that this might be one of those deals where the pre-polling inexplicably ends up not matching the results once the election comes, that once alone inside the booth ethics will trump ideology, and Massachusetts voters will pull the lever for the honest person, regardless of party affiliation.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. That almost sounded feasible for a moment there, didn’t it?
The weekend before the special Senate election, the Boston Globe commissioned a poll showing the two candidates exactly even at 48-48.
The final election result went to Scott Brown at 52-47.

It was a nasty surprise for the Democrats….
I hope it happens again. But we’re asking for lightning to strike twice.
LOL…you have got to be kidding me ….we are talking about a state that has re elected ted ( the swimmer ) kennedy….Barny ( gay whorehouse ) frank and john ( hide my yacht ) kerry
I voted Leaning No, i.e. IMHO there is a somewhat better-than-even chance that she will not get away with it.
However, as I have posted, this depends on how Warren’s opponents utilize the Cherokee revelations. If we count on the revelations to win the election, I expect that a dinged but viable Warren will limp to victory. If the revelations are exploited, that is followed up, then I expect Warren to lose.
How to exploit the material? Now that Warren’s credibility wrt genealogy has been undermined, use that as an opening to undermine her credibility wrt bringing home the bacon—which is all that a decisive number of MA voters cares about.
The radical/Cambridge/Hollywood branch of the Democratic Party makes no secret of their strong interest in running Warren for President. Persuade MA voters that their only interest to Warren is as a momentary steppingstone to higher office, and IMO they’ll stick with Brown. (I regret to say that recent Republican governors demonstrated the steppingstone ploy to the voters.)
1. I just noticed the following email from the Brown campaign:
Needs sharpening, but not too bad for a 0.x version. Warren’s faux-Cherokee gaming of affirmative action should not be ignored although an oblique reference to Warren’s ruthlessness might be best. Brown’s contrast with Warren should be strong but controlled, pointed but not deranged.
2. The email does not offend the delicate sensibilities of MA voters with terms like ‘Republican’ or ‘Tea Party’. That’s a judgment call which I’m not second-guessing.
3. On the chance that the Brown campaign reads this blog (I hope so because Democrats sure do):
Senator, your next order of business should be to mend fences with—no, to privately apologize to—Massachusetts Tea Party activists. Apologize for tuning them out after you got elected. Tell them the Warren threat trumps any disagreements you and the Tea Party might have. Promise them you will welcome their input in the future (with your best judgment giving the final word, of course).
In particular, you have alienated influential bloggers who once supported you, e.g. Professor Jacobson and Sissy Willis. I have previously indicated how to approach them.
So like, when are we going to start playing her new theme song?
Paul Revere & The Raiders – Indian Reservation (Cherokee People)
Just sayin’ 8)
A “composite” Mass-Progressocrat: “Warren might be a bald-faced liar, but she’s our liar. As long as she’s lying for the people of the Commonwealth and the cause of Progressive’s everywhere, more power to her. It’s not like she really harmed someone or stole something!”
I voted: leaning yes.
It’s Massachusetts for crying out loud!
From the land of Kennedy, Studds, Frank, Dukaukas and Romney yes, she will be given a free pass for falsely claiming minority status (look boss a double minority fill, fantastic) at more than one university for her benefit and then publishing an acedemic paper worthy of a high school thesis. All is well in Massachusetts
