Some dare call it sabotage: The effort to undermine the Trump administration

Some dare call it sabotage: The effort to undermine the Trump administration

It started before the 2016 election, and now Obama’s back leading #TheResistance

Professor Jacobson recently wrote a post about Obama’s recent rhetoric against President Trump.

In giving his speech, Obama was violating the traditional code of behavior for ex-presidents, which was to keep their mouths shut and refrain from criticizing their successors. But no one on earth should be surprised by the fact that Obama just can’t stay away. In fact, there’s evidence that he’s been trying to undermine Trump since Trump first took office, and perhaps even before.

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane. Remember this sort of thing (written February of 2017, a scant couple of weeks after Trump was inaugurated)?:

When former President Barack Obama said he was “heartened” by anti-Trump protests, he was sending a message of approval to his troops. Troops? Yes, Obama has an army of agitators — numbering more than 30,000 — who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.

In what’s shaping up to be a highly unusual post-presidency, Obama isn’t just staying behind in Washington. He’s working behind the scenes to set up what will effectively be a shadow government to not only protect his threatened legacy, but to sabotage the incoming administration and its popular “America First” agenda.

He’s doing it through a network of leftist nonprofits led by Organizing for Action. Normally you’d expect an organization set up to support a politician and his agenda to close up shop after that candidate leaves office, but not Obama’s OFA. Rather, it’s gearing up for battle, with a growing war chest and more than 250 offices across the country…

Obama is intimately involved in OFA operations and even tweets from the group’s account. In fact, he gave marching orders to OFA foot soldiers following Trump’s upset victory.

“It is fine for everybody to feel stressed, sad, discouraged,” he said in a conference call from the White House. “But get over it.” He demanded they “move forward to protect what we’ve accomplished.”

“Now is the time for some organizing,” he said. “So don’t mope.”

Well, they’ve done a bit of moping. But mostly they’ve done a lot of organizing in the year and two thirds since then.

And then there was this, written right around the time of Trump’s inauguration [emphasis mine]:

As one of his first acts Monday, Trump signed an executive order freezing most federal hiring. His team is also fine-tuning plans to shrink several agencies focused on domestic policy, according to sources close to the transition.

Now, the president is about to find out how much power these maligned workers have to slow or even short-circuit his agenda.

Disgruntled employees can leak information to Capitol Hill and the press, and prod inspectors general to probe political appointees. They can also use the tools of bureaucracy to slow or sandbag policy proposals — moves that can overtly, or passive aggressively, unravel a White House’s best-laid plans…

…[M]any federal workers admit they are freaked out — demoralized by their portrayal as part of the DC “swamp” and anxious about being asked to dismantle rules and regulations they’ve labored over for years.

“What I am hearing from federal employees is a degree of apprehension that I have not heard since the Reagan transition,” said Jeffrey Neal, who ran human resources for Homeland Security’s 190,000 employees in the last job of his 33-year-long government career.

And shortly after the inauguration there was this big article in the WaPo with the headline “Resistance from within: Federal workers push back against Trump”:

Less than two weeks into Trump’s administration, federal workers are in regular consultation with recently departed Obama-era political appointees about what they can do to push back against the new president’s initiatives. Some federal employees have set up social media accounts to anonymously leak word of changes that Trump appointees are trying to make.

And a few government workers are pushing back more openly…

At a church in Columbia Heights last weekend, dozens of federal workers attended a support group for civil servants seeking a forum to discuss their opposition to the Trump administration. And 180 federal employees have signed up for a workshop next weekend, where experts will offer advice on workers’ rights and how they can express civil disobedience.

At the Justice Department, an employee in the division that administers grants to nonprofits fighting domestic violence and researching sex crimes said the office has been planning to slow its work…

“You’re going to see the bureaucrats using time to their advantage,” said the employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation. Through leaks to news organizations and internal complaints, he said, “people here will resist and push back against orders they find unconscionable.”

When the op-ed article by “Anonymous” appeared recently in the NY Times, I wrote about it here. But I can’t say I was surprised at the piece or at its publication by the Times, because I had read several of those earlier reports at the time they were written, indicating that there was a widespread “resistance” within the federal government itself, and that part of the plan was to leak their stories and dissatisfaction to the press.

The story by Anonymous was just an example of someone who supposedly is placed higher up in the administration, although the Times is careful not to tell us who it is or how high up that person might be (my guess is not as high as they’d like you to think).

At best, sedition. At worst, treason. Anyone caught thusly should be immediately removed and prosecuted.

While my car’s oil was being changed I wandered over to the Subaru showroom. To my surprise I saw Obama coming out of a salesman’s cubicle. Curiosity had me, so after I paid my bill I went to that salesman to see what Obama was buying.

“A new Legacy”

The return of Mr. iiMeMeMyMy and his never ending campaign.

From the Wiki: “Organizing for America, then Organizing for Action, (OFA) is a community organizing project of the Democratic National Committee.

Initially founded after the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama, the group sought to mobilize supporters in favor of Obama’s legislative priorities, particularly health care reform…

After Obama’s second inauguration, it was reorganized as Organizing for Action and returned to its previous mission of organizing around the President’s agenda. It has since turned into a hub of the Democratic protest movement.”

The Left has no intention of ceeding involvement or control of their god of government. OFA is simply one part of the concerted mobilization within academia, media, politics, and economics to sabotage every norm within the culture.

Noted the collusive effort to disrespect the American flag, discredit police authority, reverse election results, ‘alinski’ political opponents, demonize capitalism, erase history, deplatform open debate, ignore injustice, justify violence, and pervert due process.

I think this is not merely the usual ‘grass roots’ opposition of the Left, but planned sabotage, as stated plainly by Obama, to fundamentally transform America.

I think that this attempt to subvert the results of an election amounts to treason, if treason will not stick, then hang them with something else and that a case should be built and Obama prosecuted. At the same time, systematic violation of people’ civil rights by the left should be prosecuted, starting with the Martin scheme team, because many of the same players are involved, same tactics being used. Take the dam gloves off.

“The return of Mr. iiMeMeMyMy and his never ending campaign.” According to what I heard on TV His Imperial Executiveness Emperor Barak the Nonpareil used “I”, or otherwise referred to himself, over 100 times in the speech.

You bet Obama is pissed; Trump is the single biggest obstacle to the rise of socialism in this country and has managed (thankfully) to undo most of the Obama legacy of American doom.

Add to that his classless and nontraditional trashing of a sitting president, and you can see what a petulant child we had “leading” the country (downhill) for 8 years.

Trump is a symptom alright; a symptom of Obama’s (and Hillary’s) inability to Make America Great Again.

Maybe he should try his hand at Venezuela……

My opinion has always been that Obama will run for President in 2020. That’s why he purchased and furnished a compound in DC. The fact that he has had to emerge so soon to attack Trump before the 2018 midterms speaks volumes. It appears that Democrats’ prospects for this election are pretty grim, and they are becoming increasingly desperate.

    XXII (22nd,for Odumbo’s understanding) Amendment:

    SECTION 1

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Some think Obama will try to get back in the White House the same way Clinton did – through his wife. It didn’t work out so well for slick willie, maybe the community organizer will have better luck. Valerie Jarrett no doubt is looking at all the angles.

If Odumbo thinks he’s going to follow his fake wife moooochelle back into the white house, he’s going to find she cant fit through the door. (But then, there is the freight entrance.)

I think Slick is/was perfectly happy collecting huge honoraria for half-hour speeches and cavorting with “bimbos”. The Hildabeast is the one who craves the power, she probably was the one who craved more than the Governor’s job in AR for Slick Willie.

I think Obama will run for Mayor of Chicago. Think about it. He can be Mayor for 50 years and have continuous political influence.

      C. Lashown in reply to RobM. | September 9, 2018 at 2:54 pm

Perhaps, but it’s a BIG step down from being POTUS and I doubt he could gain the same level of joy that he got from causing disruption as POTUS. NOT ONLY THAT, but in Chicago people actually carry guns and are more than willing to use them! One wrong misstep and he could have a face full of lead. As tempting as it might be, Obama can be titillated by more than just raw power.

I would be interested in know who has been motivating Obama these past two years; who has he listened to?

Massinsanity in reply to RobM. | September 9, 2018 at 3:39 pm

Chicago may be beyond hope at this point. Rahm thought he would take over make some improvements and use that as a launching pad to bigger and better things. How’s that working out? He is walking away and looks like he aged 20 years in the last 4.

Edward in reply to RobM. | September 10, 2018 at 9:43 am

That is a current and recurring nightmare for the USSS. If it becomes a real possibility, they will be trying to find a government lawyer who will give them an opinion that they could turn over his detail to the Chicago PD.

      He’s a bitter clinger.

There must be a term for a person or persons who actively try to overturn a valid and free election.

It is a coup. Treat it as such and send in The USMC to quell it.

So the University of Illinois gives Obama and award for Ethics in Government…………….did they leave out the Egregious that title, or am I trapped in ‘The Onion’ world.

It would be humorous as satire, but, really, it is beyond pathetic.

Too bad they cropped that picture… because on the lectern was a placard that says #takeitback ( take it back )..

as in… it was stolen from us… we must take it back… as opposed to #win it back.

Seize power… and control. That is their aim. Anyone who is in power except for them is illegitimate in their eyes and by any means necessary , should be thwarted and unseated. Interesting times.

I know a really quick way to shut this down.

It is an error to start with the premise that the NYT is honest or truthful.

If you try to dismantle the Deep State the same way it was built up, you’ll be at it for 30 years or more. And that’s assuming you keep control of Congress for that entire time (which is unlikely).

The only way to win this battle is to downsize government so much that it no longer makes economic sense to rent seek.

I guess Hillary should stop waiting for that call from the DNC…

Obama knows he can’t run for President again. I think he’s shooting for Emperor.

Fortunately the position is open. As I’m sure you are aware, our first emperor, Norton I, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico, died of a stroke on Jan 8, 1880 leaving no successor. Obama would surely qualify since, if Emperor Norton has a son, he would look like Obama. You can google Emperor Norton I and see for yourself.

Odumbo still believes his own press.

    Its actually gotten quite laughable.

Everyone should read V D Hanson’s latest opinion piece:

The Circus of Resistance

You will find it uplifting and helpful to keep the Progressive Fascists assaults on the President in proper perspective.

When the Progressive Fascists claim to be newsmen you need to remember that they refuse to investigate and report on the worst scandals in modern history. How the FBI decided they wanted Hillary to be President so the cleared her after a faux investigation. How Obama’s DOJ refused to investigate Hillary’s sale of the favors of her office for hundreds of millions in donations to her slush fund and millions for for BJ’s “speeches”. How Obama and Hillary used the government to cheat in the election and attempted to frame the President. These scandals are a thousand times worse than Watergate but have been ignored because the ideology of the news media.
